Good to hear your impressions on the brakes - I'd be interested to hear what they're like when they've bedded in. Really awesome that these big bikes can still climb.

Riaan Swart hey mate!!! Thanks for the feedback, yea the codes are good but I think it’s more personal I’m missing my xts but that might change! It’s a pretty good climber for how big the bike is! It’s bloody fun going down and worth a bit more effort going up 😂

I didn't feel that high off the ground. In the middle/trail setting, I measured the BB at about 340mm which is bang on for a bike of this travel and wheel size. Still didn't get a proper ride on the trails due to snow, but got my fork checked out for excess grease in the negative air chamber (an issue I learned about thanks to Mtb Telly's revew on the 36), got a base setting for the suspension front & back. Plan is to to first rides with 0 compression on the fork to see how it feels. Feels really planted indeed. Steering is a bit different. Stack is pretty high and comfy for steeps as it seems, but I might drop a spacer from underneath the stem to put more load on the fork. We'll see about that. I see that you dropped all 2 spacers. Did you feel the stack too high? Also, I'll be ordering 2 spacers for the fork, and I'll start off with 1 just to add a fair bit of progression. Thanks for the insight, waiting for more. Cheers, mate!

wow you need your own channel.. haha I felt really high off the ground but now I'm at around 100km I'm ready for my next review and I'm feeling more at home. What was the problem 36? cost much to get it fixed? Yep I dropped all the spacers on the stem and to be honest the bike is feeling great. Ive set up the suspension with 30% front and back and fired up the slow speed rebound and speed up the high speed for big hit. Ill drop my next video in a week or so.. Thanks for the comment I love youtube everyone are cool and know so much about bike... great work thanks

@@SamsBikes , I do have a channel but not with mtb content, but I do fancy buying a hero7 and do some stuff. I do appreciate the feedback! Long story short, a lot of 36s come with a chance of excess grease in the negayive air chamber, effectively reducing the volume of the chamber and decreasing small bump compliance. It didn't cost me that much. I think that about 20-40 euros should get you sorted. It needs to get degreased and regreased with the proper amount. I also changed to an absolute black oval 30t ring to climb as much as possible. I'll try the first ride with all the spacers and make up my mind from there if the front is lightweighted. I also ditched the Schwalbes from the get go, and put a dhf 2.5 up front and 2.4 dhr II out back. Might put a cushcore in the back to prevent annoying flats. You should feel really good for having such sunny weather and being able to ride all year round! Have a great weekend and looking forward to some more great content! Cheers!

Live Aeons thanks again love the info, ok I’ll go to my local guy and get him to look at the fox 36! I’m a photographer by day and pro mountain in my mind on the weekend haha so I’m grabbing a hero 7 as well next week looks fun to play with! I’ve changed to the minion but put the magic at the back just because I didn’t know what else to do with it! It’s actually pretty good out back but when it getting trashed I’ll be going with the dhr! Yes we are very lucky in spain it’s amazing almost all Of the year but August is so hot you need to ride at 6am if you want to get out! Next video out next week!

@@SamsBikes , haha, I'm also a photographer! Good to hear we have something more in common! Here is the video from where I got the info regarding the 36: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX7Fe5V_Z6aCoJY In Romania we have a proper snowy winter, which is good because you have an off season to distance yourself from riding, go to the gym and build/maintain a strong foundation/work on recovery from injuries for the next season. It also gives you a time to look back at what you accomplished last year and to set goals for the future, and compile a list of new riding places/trails. It also replenishes your thirst for riding. When spring hits you are excited to start riding again after a long winter. And hiking in the winter is pretty fun, too!

I don't know if you know this, but maximum tire size tat you can fit at the rear of the Swoop is 2.4, unfortunately can't go wider.
@SamsBikes6 жыл бұрын
Darek Z really?! I’ve got a 2,35 magic marry right now and that’s actually the same width as a 2,5 minion and it’s fine! There seems to be loads of clearance!?
@darekz97776 жыл бұрын
@@SamsBikes unfortunately it's true, on the front you can put whatever you like, but at the rear you're limited to maximum tire width up to 2.4 due to the frame limitation. Swoop always had that rear tire limitation.
@xHunteR55S6 жыл бұрын
@@darekz9777 well but that could be only on the 29 i think. The 27,5" version has soooo damn much clearance, you could put a 2,8 in there without any problems
@darekz97776 жыл бұрын
@@xHunteR55S according to Radon -they gave me that information - on both models 27.5" and 29" Radon Swoop the rear tire width can't be wider than 2.4". You can ask them yourself.

@@darekz9777 hmmm ok that limits my tire choices alot then. I'm building a Swoop 170 currently and im at the stage of tyre choice. Any suggestions besides Magic Mary/Hans Dampf? I must say I like Schwalbe Tires in general so maybe just a better casing on them and ill be good?
@SenderoSeeker6 жыл бұрын
What the people need is a direct comparison between the 27.5 and the new 29er. I reckon the 27.5 could take yours! 😉🤘

Sendero Seeker haha I wonder where we can find that video ?! I don’t think there is much in it both pretty amazing bikes!

How tall are you, and what bike size did you buy, is it 17" or 19"?
@SamsBikes6 жыл бұрын
5 foot 11 and I got the 19 but get this with the reach of 473 its actually not that big being a horse link it actually feels more like 450-460.
@gnarlyfox6 жыл бұрын
Suppose it depends on riding style and terrain too. I’m 6ft and I’ve ordered the 19”. But riding in Scotland around very tight steep trails, having a nimble shorter reach is possibly better. My Hardtail is 510mm reach and it can be a challenge on steep and tech 👍🏼
@SamsBikes6 жыл бұрын
Simon Davies totally mate I’m putting a 50mm on here and see how that goes, I’m kinda setting te swoop up as my DH / ride up hill when I must kinda bike!
@scottfreeman52895 жыл бұрын
Hi simon,I’m 5ft11 and just ordered the 21” as I’ve read the 19” might not feel as big as expected,I’m in Scotland aswell! How are you finding the 19”? I need to get myself to inners so when it comes if I spot you we can have a test on each other’s 👍🏻
