About the 10 years of rape: Vlad the Impailer (Alucard) was given to the Ottomans (Turks) by his father to not invade Wallacia. During this period that lasted about 10 years he was constantly raped and extremely mistreated. Also if you remember in a past episode Alucard tells Walter his three favorite things to kill were Nazis, Turks and number one was his father, now you can see why.

To explain a couple things, Alucard lost the will to live ages ago but would only let himself die to a human, as he swore not to let any other monsters like himself live. When Anderson stabbed himself with the holy relic he became something supernatural which enraged Alucard. (and in the original Alucard almost gave up and let himself be killed anyway, and only Seras calling out to him brought him back.) Also, in the original the black gun was given to him by Walter at the same time he got the cannon for the Police Girl, specifically as a counter to the nanites that let Anderson heal so quickly, which is why his arm didn't heal right away in the last fight. Also it means when Alucard shot him with the black gun in the head as he was stabbing himself with the relic Alucard was fully intending to kill him, no mercy, rather than let Anderson make himself into a monster.

True as all that is, it has nothing to do with *why* Anderson wanted to fight Alucard instead. The way they talk to each other in that final conversation spells it out. The two have a very weird love/hate/frenemy relationship - remember when they both showed up when Integra first went to meet with Maxwell, then Seras led that old-folk tour group through to distract them from starting a big massive-collateral fight in the middle of a museum, and *both* of them had a "Welp, that ruined the moment" reaction, and sounded very cheerful to agree to fight/kill each other later. I’ve been waiting all day for this Btw let me explain the ridiculousness that is “Release Restraint Level 0”. First of all like I’ve commented previously only Integra can allow Alucard to use it by verbally telling him to do so. Now that that’s out of way let me tell you what it does. First it allows Alucard to use his full power while also giving him the option to tranform into his true form if he so wishes which is Vlad the Impaler aka Dracula. Also it allows his to call on an army of ghouls made up of the souls of every living being he’s ever consumed while also being able to utilize the abilities of anyone he’s ever consumed. Also it part of the reason Alucard is so impossible to kill. Whenever he “dies” a random soul that he’s consumed (which is roughly 2 million) takes his place. So basically imagine Mario from Super Mario Bros. with 2 million 1 ups.

Yep. By unlocking Level 0 and releasing the millions of souls trapped inside of him (souls he obtained by drinking those victims' blood. By doing so, each of those million souls are added to Alucard's lifespan. So every time he was "killed" in both the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs and this abridged series, one of those souls would instead be killed in Alucard's place), Alucard became a regular vampire. While Abridged!Alucard has a chaotic and childish personality, the original Dracula - aka Vlad the Impaler - is treated like a separate, and more polite and gentlemanly-killer, personality. :) And his black gun, the Jackal? That pistol was the only way he could kill/critically harm the vampires from Millennium and to critically injure Anderson. Knowing that Alucard would be a harder vampire to kill, he resorted to using the Nail of Helena - one of the nails that was used in Christ's crucifixion, which is considered a magical object in this franchise - to turn himself into a "monster of God". That upset Alucard, because he wanted to be defeated and killed by a human's hands, and he views humans who resort to turning themselves into monsters as weak. And the end credit song in tribute for Alexander Anderson is a parody of the "Alexander Hamilton" song from the musical of the same name! XD

Alucard's "Life Hack" is why he's typically immortal. But when he uses it as he did, he needs a moment to recall those lives back into him, so he's a fair bit less immortal. That's why, in the main show, Anderson is fighting him now. It's probably the only chance he had to actually succeed in killing Alucard. Oh, and the song is from the popular musical "Hamilton", specifically the opening song "Alexander Hamilton". Team Four Star's actually done two songs from that musical, the other called "Just Give Up", sung by Lord Freeza.

level 1 may not even be only for a last resort as during the only time alucard does use it he wasn't in any significant danger, he just used it to quickly end his fight with luke, he could have easily killed luke without level 1

hilariously, you can think of Alucard's immortality as something similar to the homunculi from FMA, he uses the souls in him to be immortal. Level 0 is letting out the souls to literally be his army.

Long ago, Dracula was defeated by Abraham Van Helsing and his fellows; a defeat so epic that it instilled an intense fear and respect of the man for Dracula, as well as the hope that he would one day be again defeated by such an epic human. Which is why he was so ticked off when the next promising contender, Anderson, sacrificed his humanity to become a "monster of God".

Alucard is at both his strongest and weakest when he activates restraint level 0. The reason he can regenerate when "killed" is because he can call upon one of his devoured souls to do so. So once he uses level 0, should he be slain, it would be for good.

Also for Dracula. His Dracula and Alucard selves are different personalities that Vlad Tepes made to keep himself relatively sane and focused over the centuries that Humanity has progressed and changed. The reason Drac has a sword, is because he is taking the form of the original Dracula, son of the dragon, when he first became a vampire. Alucard's persona was created when he encountered Abraham Van Hellsing.
@ILikeCHEEZ94 жыл бұрын
Also Alucard and Dracula are the same, but two different 'people' because Alucard is whoever he chooses to be. They go into more depth on this in the manga but earlier when fighting rip van winkle and when flirting with the queen they allude to Alucard being a woman in the 40s because he changes form at will but Alucard is his favorite form while Dracula is the original form he reverted to after he expelled all the souls inside him

Interga's father gave Alucard his new name. There are many references to Bram Stoker's Dracula in the series and the real Count Dracula of Wallacia. Once be became King, he severally punished many Turkish warriors from the Ottoman Empire who invaded his land, killing them and impaling their bodies on spites as a warning. Which is why he was called "Vlad the Impaler." When Alucard activated Level Zero. All of the souls of the people's blood he consumed were released, revealing his true self when he was human. He has been a vampire for decades and a few hundred years, there would be a lot of people included "The Dandy Man" and "Rip Van Winkle" They have become a part of him and his undead servants for eternity. The huge black dog is "The Hound of Baskerville" which Alucard can shape shift into. You can see it in the original Hellsing opening. I suggest cheeking it out, not only is it completely in English, but the music is amazing.

Alucard in the original (and in this too I think) respected Anderson because, despite the nanobot things that repaired him, he was still mostly human. When he used the nail on himself, he sacrificed his humanity and became a monster, in one move he destroyed any respect Alucard ever had for him Also, his coming back to life is those souls he's consumed, he basically uses up one of those and brings himself back to life with it

Hellsings lore is a bit complicated, but it is awesome, because it blends real worl history so well with pre existing fiction and adds a all new setting adding the nazis and ww3. Basically Vlad the Impaler was the son of Drag, Emperor of Walachia, a small orthodox nation between the mighty ottaman empire and the holy Roman empire in todays Romania. Drag tried to appease the Ottamans by sending his 2 sons to the Sultan, to be educated in the Ottaman ways. He wanted to make sure Walachia would not be attacked by the Ottamans in the future. However, Vlad was the second son of Drag, and the Sultan deemed him unimportant. He was apparently raped for 10 years before returning to Walachia. His older brother died early and Vlad later killed his father, who was trying to constantly appease foreign forces. Dracula (Son of Drag) then invited 500 embassadors to his coronation, only to have them all impaled. He apparently drank their blood and declared war on the Ottaman Empire. He needed the back of the Pope, de facto ruler of the Holy Roman Empire, since Vlad knew he was the only force standing between the Empire and the overly mighty Ottamans. The Pope did not want to send troops to war, but he gave Vlad his blessing and told him that victory would be his because he has the lord on his side. Vlad fought the Ottamans and slaughtered millions of innocents in the process, but the Ottamans were too big of a force, and Dracula was almost defeated. One last time he asked to Pope for reinforcements or otherwise he would lose this holy war, yet the pope was disgusted by Draculas actions and told him he is Monster. Vlad was defeated, beheaded and his head was sent to the sultan. In fiction, Vlad made a deal with the devil, cursing God and using the damned souls of his victims to achieve immortality, fighting the church and whoever claims to kill in the name of God as he once did. Like in the book Dracula by Bram Stoker, Hellsing plays with the idea that Abraham van Hellsing (who here is Integras great great Grandfather) not only defeated but captured Dracula, who was so impressed by a mere mortal catching him that he restrained himself and became Alucard, working for the Hellsing family from there on. In the Manga, Alucard became a soldier of the queen and fought the nazis in ww3 with a young Walter by his side, only to then be locked away again, until Integra freed him. The reason Alucard had to kill Anderson is because Anderson used the Nail of St. Helena to become strong enough to defeat Alucard, thereby becoming a Monster of God himself, just like Alucard once was. Alucards only goal was to never let someone like him ever exist, so he made the deal with God to give up all his souls to defeat Anderson. I hope that clears it up.. Not spoiling ep 9

I know this is late, but (to the best of my knowledge) the reason Anderson has so many bayonets at 13:00 is because the author didn't want to be constrained by logic, and just wanted him to have an absolute s***ton of bayonets. Thus Anderson's coat is literally a portal to a dimension of infinite bayonets.

Even though it’s stated more in ultimate When Anderson is getting ready to use the nail you still get the sense that Alucard is really upset with this prospect, not because it could kill him but because if he’s going to be killed he’d prefer it was by a human and not another monster. Also the song Alexander Anderson is a parity of the song Alexander Hamilton.

@crowsenpai56254 жыл бұрын
So the reason Alucard was SO angry and Anderson using the Nail on himself is there is a Core part of Alucard that WANTS to die. But the only way he’d accept it is he wants himself, a monster, to die by the hands of a human. And he saw Anderson as the most likely human to have a chance at killing Alucard, (not to mention he’s currently at his most venerable because Alucard’s way of regenerating from death is sacrificing one of his absorbed souls...who were all outside of him and purged in holy flame, so no regeneration, land a fatal blow and it will stick right now) so here comes the most likely human to finally end him...and he goes and throws away his humanity, making himself just another monster, just. Like. Alucard. So rightfully Alucard was a bit miffed.

not sure if how well this is explained but basically Alucard has the ability to turn into a previous form. Count Dracula was his former vampire life before he died then got reincarnated as a girl, died a virgin then turned into Alucard from what i understand. the coffin that Alucard brings with him conatains the body of Count Dracula (or so i assume) so he actually needed the coffin to turn from Alucard into Count Dracula. (spoilers) we will get to see what Alucard looked like before he became Alucard (aka the girl body meantioned from like episode 2 or 3 if the abridged) here shortly

Reason Dracula had a sword is because he used to be Vlad the Impaler. That's who Dracula was inspired by and who was before his change into the monster he is. Vlad was a real person in history. Vlad Tepes the impaler of the house of Dracul. And as you saw here in the anime, Vlad did in real life impale bodies on pikes and post them around. I assume he did it as warnings and to strike fear into his enemies. He was a cruel badass monster of a human being and a hero of Romania

No wonder he hates them

Okay, so a little context on the Alucard vs Anderson thing. The reason Alucard gets so pissed when Anderson uses the nail is that Alucard wants to die, but wants a human to do it, not a monster or some divine fuckery. Anderson getting divine intervention leaves him not quite human anymore (not that he was exactly a normal human before).

You're correct on the "have their own church" matter. Henry the 8th wanted to divorce his first wife Catherin of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn. He was not allowed to n long story short created the Church of England, making himself it's supreme head instead of the Pope.
