I've swam and used my Casio Duro for diving, and the Orient Kamasu is my favorite piece in my modest collection (and it's also seen water). Feel like a diver is one of the best choices all around for someone starting their collection.

another vote for the Kamasu. While I don't dive or swim, I am real rough on my watches, they get dunked in water every other day, the bezel gets used to time things and it looks professional enough manning the desk. Auto, sapphire and screwdown crown. I have it in red, and in the sunlight the red with the bronze markers look unbelievable to me.

I vote for the Orient Kamasu in generations I and II as the absolute king of cost-effectiveness in mechanical divers, followed by the Casio Duro in the quartz section. The Kamasu in particular offers great specifications and aesthetics compared to what Seiko has around $200.

Another 2 great and affordable options are, in my opinion, the Glycine Combat Sub 42 and the Certina DS Action Diver. I think they are very underrated and the quality is there considering their prices.

I already picked my everyday dive watch and it is the blue dialed Orient Kamasu. It is a gorgeous watch and the specs are incredible for the price. It’s got the looks and the feel of many of all the other more expensive watches in the video

I just bought the SPB143. Yes it’s expensive for a Seiko, but it’s absolutely worth it. It feels like a BB at a third the price with better looking hands. The lume is crazy good and mine is very accurate at -2 seconds/day. The dimensions are also very good

I bought the Tissot Sea Star Powermatic 80. I love it to death. Extremely accurate, durable with a sapphire crystal, beautiful bracelet, water resistant to 300 meters and has an 80 hr power reserve. It has the specs of a $3000 watch. One of the best values I could find.

@@iLeetjeeh I don't even use the bracelet. I swim with it all the time with a NATO strap, and use a navy blue leather strap the rest of the time. I probably adjust the time once every 15 days. For $500, hey, it does the job, swimming, water sports, snorkeling. Fine for me.

In the "Occasionally in the Water" category, I highly recommend just about any of Seiko's "Save the Ocean" models. They're all Diver's certified, and they offer some additional style in their dials and overall design that you don't often see on ISO rated watches.

If you're serious about wearing a pro standard dive watch in the water, with jeans and a t-shirt or even with a suit then I will always recommend the new Christopher Ward watches. Swiss made but designed in UK they are 300 to 600 metres waterproof rating depending on model of dive watch. They can be a tenth of the price of an Omega. They're priced on manufacturing costs rather than marketing fluff. The newer ones don't have the name at nine o'clock but just have the twin flags logo at twelve. Their metal bracelet also has a micro adjust feature like an Omega but without the added cost.

The best everyday diver is hands down Christopher Ward C60. Reliable Sellita movement, ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, 300m water resistance, thin and comfortable... dial and case finishing look the same level as my Seastar, at least with my naked eye

Not on Teddy’s list but recently added a Squale “Super Squale” skin diver to my collection and it’s far exceeded my expectations. Dimensionally compact at 38mm x 12mm x 45mm with 200m of water resistance it sits very comfortably on my 6&3/4” wrist. I also managed to negotiate a bit of discount so paid just £731 so something of a bargain at the price too.

did you actually pay 1200$ for a seiko with 6R35 mechanism? Not that the mechanism is not a good one but you got ripped off big time. You could get the same watch/mechanism 2-3 times cheaper. Why are people saying it is a good deal is beyond me. That mechanism is an entry level mechanism. You could find it on alpinists too and many other seiko prospexes. Makes no sense to pay 1000+ for that. But if you want to throw money away...

Currently have one on wrist; the best all round from these options is the Casio MDV-106. Yes it’s quartz, yes you need to swap out the strap immediately, yes the date is difficult to see BUT I find myself wearing this probably more than anything else in my collection. I bought a Seiko Arnie after seeing it in your videos and wear it everyday to work. It is a fantastic piece, looks awesome, super rugged, accurate and solar powered. Don't believe the 48mm measurement either, it wears surprisingly small on my 185mm wrist, but it definitely doesn't slip under a cuff.

I’ve got a Tudor BB & Hamilton Scuba. With my job being a bit physical I always wear my Hamilton as my daily. I swapped the bracket for a nato and then a rubber strap which is so easy to clean compared to Nato. Tudor is a class piece but the Scuba for the price is a hard wearing daily.

Thanks for including the Orient Kamasu. I think it was the only one w/ day-date, which is high on my priority list as a day-to-day watch function. D-D may not be important under water, but as I live in a desert, dive credentials aren't really that big a deal to me. While it may spend 90% of it's life bone dry, I do the occasional beach swim or river rafting trip and I don't want to cap the experience with a ruined watch.

I just bought the Orient Kamasu 2 & completely smitten with it. It’s accurate within a couple of seconds a day. It definitely punches above its price point. Suggestion, instead of the Tissot or even the Oris why not the Glycine Combat Sub, a watch I can buy at Costco today for $299 USD. Selita Swiss movement, sapphire crystal, 200M water resistant AND 10.7mm thin! As a former/retired USMC SAR pilot and dive trained in the Marines, I own a Submariner 114060, a Marathon USMC GSAR automatic a modded SKX and a pre-Invicta Combat Sub (I paid $400 for an NOS [drilled lugs] model in 2018).

Recently purchased the Seiko SPB143. First one that arrived was a dud as the hands stopped when they stacked at around 6:30. However, replacement is absolutely great. These seem to be more readily discounted in the UK currently and I picked mine up for £770 (30% off RRP). I think if you can find a deal to bring it below £1k it is more of a no-brainer. At RRP it’s too close to Oris & other great options. Beautiful watch and really versatile with straps. Have a grey nato which is great at the weekend and black sailcloth/tropic are smart & comfortable to wear to work. Want to experiment with some coloured straps next. My one dive watch, is my Tudor black bay ceramic, if I had to pick another up at some point it would either be the bathyscaphe or a Polaris. If I'm going for a crazy price range then it would likely be the A. Lange & Söhne titanium Odysseus, those things are so beautiful. I've never been a big dive watch guy, most of my watches are a heritage style. I have a small wrist and I don't really swim that often, the closest I get in taste is my bb ceramic or a gmt with an external bezle.

@@wallpaper000 aye. One thing I will say though, if you find the right strap, even a large watch can work. The bb ceramic is 41mm and with the oem straps in found it hard to wear for long periods of time. Then I bought a rubber b strap for it; fits perfectly now and I've been wearing it for the past month almost exclusively. It does help that it's ceramic so it's lighter than a stainless steel watch but the right strap definitely makes a huge difference. And then for bracelets, my wrist needs a half link on most of the ones I've tried. If a watch doesn't have a half link or a micro adjustment mechanism, I won't even consider it.

I know it’s a UK company but I do feel that Christopher Ward is coming out with some great watches. The Trident pro 300 is a beautiful watch and deserves a mention. Also no talk of the bel canto on this channel which is a real shame 😭

Christopher Ward are a great brand. They also do what I think is the only true compressor on the market in the C65.

These are all nice time pieces, but for a pro diver that wants the real deal, nothing like the citizen Promaster Aqualand. To me this is Daddy, all the rest are his children...not very expensive but the one of the best diving tools available used by many professional divers that just want the best tool for the job.

Missing from this list and many of yours is Steeldive. I know your channel doesn’t really get into the “cheap Chinese homage spec monsters”, but, as a poor person who enjoys watches, I don’t have much choice. The SD1953 is just great. From your list I of course also have the Duro. It comes with a rubber strap but you can get a steel bracelet with the little Marlin logo off Ali and it really sets off the case - go from resort pool to resort restaurant just like that.

An underratted dived watch is the citizen ecodrive wr200, mine has seen 40m depths (for americans about 130 feet) and works great

Although marketed as a GMT I would am considering the breitling chronomat GMT 40mm as my next (and first) dive watch. To me it’s a great weekend warrior, do it all watch. Love the gmt function for travel and the water resistance for those that love the water. Yes the movement gives you pause but the trade off is a watch with a slim profile that looks good anywhere.

I wear my Casio Duro every day and use it regularly on my scuba dives. It’s definitely not a holiday resort shop trinket. In 30 yrs of diving around the world I have never seen anyone wear expensive dive watches on a dive. The desk divers are the high end stuff here. The Casio Duro is a true dive work horse.

I pick the Yema Marine Nationale, I dive, its useful for other things as well I like the timer for working o use it as a Pomodoro timer. Also they have a GMT version of that diver. Very upset we didn't even have an honorable mention.

I wouldn’t swap my grand seiko 9f diver for anything (SBGX335). Grand seiko finishing, iconic movement, tough as nails, can dress it up or down with straps/bracelet, never loses or gains a second and always ready to go.

Logged my 80th dive with the pelagos. It is memorable to me as we (the pelagos and I) encountered a mola fish during the dive. I think it should be on this list as I think it is THE BEST watch you can take underwater with. You have that piece of mind that the watch won’t break, with the helium escape valve etc. The pelagos is made for diving. I appreciate your video Teddy, great job as usual. but I think the pelagos should make this list. 🐋🐋

Personally, I would recommend the certina ds action diver 38mm.. iso compliant, 300m water resistant, 80 hr power reserve., swiss made with heritage and affordable..

I own a burgundy Kamasu and I'm loving it, the Seiko SPB is on my radar but shoul have a more refined movement for that price, still think is worth the MSRP.
