The Rakata had FTL technology at least 10,000 years before the founding of the Old Republic. And we know that they inherited that when they overthrew the Kwa and stole the secrets to their FTL Infinity Gates, and the Kwa who in turn took that technology from the Celestials who were traversing the Galaxy with FTL Drives well over 100,000 years BBY. And who's to say that the Celestials weren't inspired to develop hyperdrive technology from the Purrgils who have had the natural ability to fly through hyperspace for the Force knows how long. I was thinking of the Wookies - they may actually get along! Wookies have a code of honour that emphasizes cooperation and despises corruption. And living on a ice world wouldn't be that hard for them (Chewie was naked on Hoth - outside). The Wookie pathfinders would be _very valuable_ in that region of space and may well have explored there. And with their long lifespans they are capable of a lot of learning. There are worse places for a Wookie diaspora to end up in, it would've made sense to go there and pledge loyalty to the Chiss (and the use of their pathfinders) when things got rough for them in their own neighborhood, although they really should have snuck off with the Lasat. I just want to see militaristic Wookies living up to their full potential under the pragmatic culture of the Chiss. No freaking wood fixtures, and they use their claws in cost l close combat. They are a technically skilled race, use technology without the get back to nature vibe.
@billclark50554 жыл бұрын

However...I'm not sure it could have developed into a racial norm in that short amount of time if they had a sustainable population. If they're not incredibly inbred it would have to be something else. I play in Star Wars DnD 5e campaign, and my dm is thinking of doing an unknown regions campaign after our current one. This still (10:50) during this part of the video gave me the best character idea: a 7-12 yr old Chiss kid joins the rag-tag unknown regions exploration ship (it’s a remodeled Nebulon-B with tons of different people from across the galaxy). I’d play a non-Force class but with the Force-sensitive feat (Magic Initiate in regular DnD terms). Secretly, it’s a Chiss Navigator in training, who ran away from the Ascendancy. As Legends fan, I'd say the Fel Empire, particularly the Imperial Order. The emperor himself was more of a constitutional monarch while the government was the same type of the galactic republic, but now with the moffs in charge of the administration of local systems, this due to the fact that the empire was created through the unification of the New Republic with the remains of the Galactic Empire with one of the generals being crowned emperor as part of the peace treaty. The order itself used the light side, but they didnt focus their efforts on meditation and were not seeking to become one with the force, they sought and praised efficiency and efficacy alone, much to the dislike of the remaining jedi of the galaxy, and that put the strenght of the members between that of a jedi master and your average sith lord. They also prevented the emperor from ever becoming a corrupt leader, having orders to kill him if he ever fell to the dark side and to execute themselves if they felt they were going to fall as well. In short, they prevented corruption, they could sense if someone was acting immoral or embracing their inner darkness and they could kill them for it, it was impossible to be a corrupt politician much less an corrupt or tyrannical emperor with them around and if you tried to bribe or blackmail them, they would either kill you, kill themselves(if they felt tempted) or both. Of course you wouldn't be able to become a force ghost by following them, but hey that was never a problem for the other factions.

@@brittanyjtaylor2638 They're hot, theyre exotic, but then again, there are some problems... For one thing, you'd never get away with lying to them, and I'm not talking about major lies (which have no place in a serious romantic relationship, anyway) but even little white lies. Can you imagine having to be absolutely 100% honest all the time? Also, their trust is hard-won and they are even harder to impress. They are so damn goal oriented, I feel like if I WASNT a PHD-holding, top of my field, driven individual they'd see me as a slacker. And do you really want to date someone who is always 3 steps ahead of you? And, they'd most likely be an atheist, a problem for alot of people. I'd TOTALLY give it a try, but there are so many interesting nuances to consider! They kinda seem like super-asians, hope that's not too racist. Hard working, goal orientated, smart, but also cold and analytical... Its a daunting prospect.

The chiss fleet relied on navigators..? *Looks at Warhammer's psykers that handled navigation via their mental abilities to avoid warp fissures and being pulled into the Warp itself.* " ... Huh. For the chiss emprah, then. "

Jagged fel was actually a full blooded human. His parents were baron soontir fel of the galactic empire and wedge antilles' sister. He was raised in the chiss ascendancy however, but a full blooded human.

So the Chiss navigated the universe the same way the Imperium of Man does in 40k. But with less demons.

Perhaps their diet had a high amount of something like colloidal silver which can build in the body in high enough concentrations to turn the skin blue.

They’re kinda like the Andoreans of Star Trek. The Chiss are probably one of my most favorite factions in Star Wars along with the Mandaloreans, and the Jedi.

My favorite faction is the Eternal Empire, who do you think had more advance technology?.

With how the chiss work, what do you think their opinions would be on the federation from Star Trek, if first contact was made.

27 thousand years is plenty of time to change pigmentation from environmental factors considering the european race had black/tanned complexion merely 9 thousand years ago and they had changed to a fairer complexity only 4 thousand years ago. Assuming it took Chiss the whole period to become blue and you take a generation to be 20 years it would take 1350 generations to go from non-blue to blue and each generation would have to be 1/1350 or 0.07% bluer than the previous. So it is at least feasible.

There was a family in America that had blue skin because of in breeding and other factors but that wasn't even 100 years for that trait to manifest so it's possible for the chiss to be descendents of humans

If Legends was present, I reckon my vote would go to The Infinite Empire, due to their sheer domination (before their fall). The Eternal Empire was also very powerful, and good to its own people.

I am with you in that force sensitive beings can see and anticipate blaster bolts but wouldn't you need fast reaction time and reflexes and proper lightsaber technic to execute that deflect?

I know I'm years late here...but gotta give a correction...Jagged Fel was not half-Chiss...He was just raised among Thrawn's Chiss/Imperial splinter group, the Empire of the Hand.

It's probably good that this faction hasn't been integrated into the Disney Star Wars era. If so, they'd be downplayed and paraded around as only villains.
