I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago. a long time dream amp. first impressions were "wow loud" if you want heavier overdrive. very full and rich tone. I ended up getting a Tone King attenuator (fits right inside), and now I can get those amazing over driven tones at more manageable volumes...I just LOVE the over drive tones. the amp is a little dark even with my tele and strat. so I run my Wampler Ecstasy overdrive pedal out front, just very slight overdrive but crank the treble on it....makes this amp sound so much better with that nice bite......amazing amp....

They’ve choosen a pretty mellow speaker, which is nice. I’ve heard tweed deluxes that were to harsh and fizzy to my taste due to an overly bright Jensen speakers. This one sounds awesome. Maybe they should release a vintage-modified version with an added spring reverb.
@asw76966 ай бұрын
I have one of these, albeit an older version reissue with the Jensen speaker. It is a great sounding amp and works amazingly with an Origin Effects Revivaldrive at low home volume. However, for me it's too loud to get the driven sound at home volumes without an attenuator and too quiet to use in a band without going through a PA. For those reasons, I would not buy one for £2400 GBP. However, I picked mine up at a local auction for £930 and it's definitely worth that.

I have that amp. It’s very frustrating - too loud for home, too quiet for a band unless you want compressed break up all the time or mic it up through a PA. The circuit is not the same as original deluxe tweeds where the vol is progressive and sounds way better than the RI. I recently tried a hand-wired ‘64 Princeton Reverb…spectacular amp. I have an original ‘66 and it was indistinguishable. The ‘57 Deluxe Tweed is not there, I tried different speakers, tubes and had an amp tech see if he could alter the circuit to how an original would be which turned out not to be possible.

As always sounds amazing But this time you missed the big deal, the whole point of the amplifier is that with the help of the volume of the second channel, you change the nature of the sound and the amount of gain so that you can achieve many different and amazing tones with it. In addition, you can jump the two channels and get more types of tones. Also, the tone knob is not only a tone but also adds gain which gives more versatility. In short, this amazing amplifier deserves one more demo in my opinion ;)

@@darrenfoxwell7831 yes you may, but you would be in error. I would more accurately call a Twin's breakup as 'rumble' rather than 'gain'. @Rinky Actually Fender does use cheap parts and cheap construction techniques in many of their amps which is part of the reason this amp costs a bunch more money. An original Tweed Deluxe will cost you about $10,000 so this reissue at a quarter of the price could be seen as bargain in comparison or like many people you can simply ride the angry train not understanding why amps that are built with old school methods in the USA cost what they do.
