I replayed that like 5 times and he is literally frame perfect (you can use "." and "," keys on the keyboard to move frame by frame. If he flashes one frame earlier he will still get hit by the part of the e close to Syndra, and if he flashes one (maybe 2?) frame later he will be stunned (the orb changes from yellow to blue on the frame after the flash which I believe means that the stun hitbox is activated).

been supporting EDG every since 2015 MSI when we had pawn deft clearlove koro and meiko. The real dons of this world winning team is Meiko. This lad was the most consistent player in this team throughout the years. People used to big up madlife for his hooks but Meiko isn't about that and more about making his team better. Consistently top 2 support in the lpl, so happy that he stuck with us for 7 years now. The management also deserves credit for not dropping Scout when he played shit. I still remember those Lucian plays two worlds ago going in ham and feeding every game. I gotta admit that I used to want Scout out of the team and replace him with a better midlane player but it sounds like I owe him an apology now. In the end, won the EDG way, 3-2 against a korean team with a beast of a midlane player just like the good old days. EDG NIUBI

EDG vs RNG was the real Finals. EDG managing director Aaron said from scrims they were pretty confident vs DK and T1. They were scared of RNG the most. Before QF draw they thought there was good chance they would met RNG in Finals. They thought they could 3-0 GEN, so GEN surprised them the most but before Game5 vs GEN they were pretty chill. This Worlds is wrongly considered "LCK dominance". RNG legit would've beat T1 and GEN, maybe DK too. HLE got out of group only coz FNC was broken af, despite this they almost lost to that FNC if wasn't for Chovy LB hard carrying them. LNG as LPL 4th seed did put up a good fight vs LEC 1st seed and LCK 2nd seed. FPX was the only LPL underwelming team. If RNG was on the other side of the bracket, this wouldn't be considered as "LCK dominance".

Problem wasn’t just BO1 or BO5. Biggest problem is that LPL has the tendency to pick their comfort picks which they played a lot before and in scrims. This makes it much harder for LPL to adept to new metas. Look at beginning of this worlds group stage, it looks like all LCK teams was aware of how strong Yuumi comps are, but LPL is still picking same comps from their summer split. (Using naut kaisa to counter enchanter botlane) That’s also a big factor why they always play poorly in early stage of worlds. Like Jiejie said on stream, the zilean pick was stolen from T1, they won not because they are good at creating, but because they are good at coping the strats and play better.

I wouldn't say LCK "lost." I know they theoretically lost as they placed second, but in reality, I think LCK should be proud considering that coming into Worlds everyone expected LPL to be the heavy favourites with DK being the only competition. Everyone expected the top 3 LPL teams in semis and then DK as well, so LCK having 3 teams in semis is something they can be proud of. However, EDG just showed us that even when the rest of the LPL doesn't show up, LPL is still just miles ahead of every other region.

I think the greatest problem for both FPX and RNG is the shifting of mid lane meta where bruisers, warriors, and tanks can no longer function well in mid lane. Those champs were literally a major component of both teams' mid lane champ pool, especially Doinb's champ pool (Lee Sin, Renek, Irelia, Nocturne, etc.), and Akali is the only assassin champ Doinb is good at and that got nerfed so damn hard throughout the summer, and Doinb's mages (Syndra, Ori, Azir) has never been spot on and he and Cryin are probably the only two mid laners in LPL that can't play Zoe. Cryin himself had a small champ pool to begin with and his skill levels on the mages he relies on is pretty mediocre as well, and there's very little stuff left in his tank after the nerf of Lucian and Noc mid, ban TF and he's pretty much done for. Meanwhile, all the LPL mid laners that are ACTUALLY good at burst mages (Knight, Rookie, Yagao, Angel, Fofo, etc.) are all stuck inside the country because they failed to qualify.

LPL fan here. The way EDG won their games against GenG and the fiesta with RNG wasn't very reassuring when you compare it to the level of play going on on against T1 and Mad. There's merit to them winning the summer split (Different meta btw), but the fact that they didn't adapt well to the enchanters and wasn't using graves as DK and T1 make it reasonable to assume that they were underdogs. I had my doubts on people assuming EDG were going to be outclassed (Since they've had a tendency to play better against better teams), but it's not that crazy to see them as the underdogs.

EDG did have a close series with GenG but their wins were solid while GenG had trouble closing. T1 vs DK looked clean because well LCK vs LCK is always slow and methodical. if you ignore LPL vs western teams record. LPL is positive vs LCK

@@ftu2021 Yes, the LPL vs LPL matchups are always atypical, but that doesn't mean you just ignore them. You're right in pointing out that they closed out games ina more reassuring way compared to GenG, but it was clear that EDG was not as comfortable with the enchanter meta compared to T1 and DK. The T1 vs DK was less about it being clean more about the amount of depth/adaptation both teams were able to do on the fly. Most of the LPL teams are usually inflexible in this regard. Also, real LPL fans always have in the back of our minds that EDG usually chokes. Happens too many times. I was super happy when they won.

It feels weird to me knowing now that people thought EDG had no chance....I've been a fan of DWG back when they first started with GRF, I liked GRF more, because they were new faces in an old scene. While DWG has managed to stay together and on top they are NOT unbeatable and EDG showed in the series before that if Scout gets a lead he can push it to end a game and VIPER DID NOT COME TO LOSE!!! He was outclassing every adc by a mile and Ghost was an easy Bot Gap. I think DWG had the better Jg and slightly better Top, but it was always gonna come down to team play. EDG always had a good chance to win so long as Flandre didn't hard int. JieJie is still not better than Canyon but you don't have to be if you just play J4 lol. EDG knew what they needed to do to stay competitive and they did it! Sad for DWG but glad Viper got one!

Yeah, Canyon definitely felt less impactful this series and it seems like they should have drafted around him more. He won on both Qiyana and Lee Sin (very mechanical intensive champs) and lost on Xin/Talon/Trundle (far less mechanical champs). Wish we could have seen more flashy Canyon plays (thankfully the T1 series had a lot of those).
