Rob has sold cars in lots of ways but he really wanted to try his hand at selling cars at a dealership. He got a job at his local Ford dealer and things went pretty well.

I gotta tell you 9 a month at a new dealership is pathetic. I was selling like 13 a month in tax season at a tiny used car lot most of them are sub-4k cars with an issue here or there so a lot of "I'll think about it" and lowballer customers. Some of the vets sell like 20 or 30, sometimes off-season. How hard can it be to sell a brand new car with a specified MSRP and warranty?

Thats cuz it doesnt happen, just like 90% of the shit on this channel.. You have any idea how fucking lomg the buying process would be for 6 brand new trucks? And yet he managed to solidify that deal in his first "hour and a half" at a dealership that is entirely new to him? He wouldnt even be on the sales floor in the first hour and a half as a self proclaimed inexperienced sales guy, let along be the only sales guy on the whole lot to approach the only big ticket customer they have.

Some Body i can’t vow for others. But this is very true actually. And apparently you haven’t worked in a dealership long or at all . They don’t hold your hand in straight commission car sales. Eat or be eaten. Hence the extreme high turnover in this field.

Oh so many memories from working in the car biz back in the day came pouring back while watching this! My most successful months were while I was pregnant. People just can't say no to a pregnant F&I "lady"! There weren't too many women in the business 27 years ago so customers trusted me more than my male counterparts but boy did that giant belly help out!

He didn't want a black truck and only planned on buying 1, Rabbit used skills and experience he has gotten over the years to persuade someone that is set on not buying something to buy it lol. Then through him going to all the guys buildings and building a more personal relationship than any of the other employees could have because he went on his own route. In doing all this he managed to sell him many more cars in the process. Any of the other workers would have lost the sale or just sold 1 white truck. He got lucky for this to have happened on his first day but that's the only luck here. Him selling all the cars was skill.

I had a black Mustang and while it really did get dirty fast, those first few days after the wash, it just looked so beautiful. Weekly washes were a small price to pay. Mayve twice weekly if I got unlucky.

Love this story... I remember the owner at a new car dealership sent me to a black tie car show... Dealers only... I got HAMMERED drunk.next day I Showed up at the end of the Sat morning meeting and got my ass handed to me.. so I told him, in front of everyone that I'm gonna sell 3 cars today or I'll quit. And had no appointments.. sold my 3 cars and said I'm going home early today...which was a no-no.. and he said but you only grossed 20k today... I told him that I'll do better on Monday... Monday came and I had my own office.. BOO-YA

As a former member of the 4 square church I loved this story. It reminded me of my days selling cars. I could tell some stories. Selling 2 cars to a couple in the same day, selling 3 cars in one day after my 1st experience with a Starbucks triple latte at an off site event. Selling a Van to a couple that ran a Montessori school and cleaning out their trade and asking them, "Ummm do want to keep this bong?" Selling a green car to woman that wanted a red one and asking her while we were driving the car , "What difference does the color really matter? You're inside the car and it has all of the features you want, you can't see the outside of the car from here" Selling a Dodge mini-van to a woman that was a retiree from General Motors and was eligible for the employee price on a GM van but bought the one I sold her. (And even came by the store afterwards to give me a bottle of Champaign to thank me for selling it to her.) My Sales Manager calling me into the office to chew me out because he thought I wasn't selling enough cars..he tried to compare me to the top guy...then he looked at the sales and said..."You don't sell as many cars as Jake...but you make more per car" Yeah, I have stories. I'll share them with VINwiki if they want to talk to me.
