Both the 106/120 PDLs used to be under $2000 but have gone up quite a bit along with everything else. I remember the 106 Minn Kota was $2499 when it came out just a few years ago.

Thanks for another great video. I am hoping you will give me a little advice on a kayak purchase. I still want to paddle, but I would like a motorized kayak to extend my range. The 106 MK seems perfect as it also gives me a hands free option for on-water nature photography, but I'm not sure how hard it is to paddle. I regularly paddle an Ocean Kayak Malibu 9.5 over 6 miles with an average moving speed of 3 mph and a peak of about 4 mph on a big lake. Will I get close to this paddling the 106 MK? or do you have another recommendation?

The 106MK paddles ok it's pretty wide so it does take more effort to get it started but once you get it going it does ok. But just keep in mind that it is heavier and a wider boat. So conditions will definitely change how efficiently the boat paddles. But other than that it is a fantastic kayak and probably my favorite for the price on the market right now. I love the foot steering, when in current. Can't go wrong with the 106MK as long as you are ok with the heavier weight and slower paddling due to the width. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Not necessarily if you only fish open water, but you will definitely need a paddle to do reverse.

I'd also add the NuCanoe Frontier 12. Great, stable kayak that can be customized any way you want it, including motor. Plenty of storage area plus open deck.
