This video we are talking about the welder that helped start my youtube channel the Forney easy weld FC-i. It is a 110v welder that i review and then try out a cut and etch test to see how good the penetration is.

Nice welder. I am a beginner. I clicked on the video because I saw the FORNEY. I am using one at work, it's a different model, but looks identical to yours. The machine is solid and easy to use. I am considering buying the machine you have for my own personal use. Good review, thanks a bunch.👍👍

I picked up a very good condition used one last Oct. Now that the weather is nice, I find myself using this FC-i all the time. So much simpler for quick projects or repairs, compared to using my old Century Buzz Box.

Cool video! I’ll need try to find that welding milk and test out some on my noobie KZbin certified hobbyist welds, now I’m curious. Muscled through for years using the entry levels 90amp flux core from harbor freight, great for strength, but was trying to do bodywork… had no idea how hard I was making it on myself until I finally got a mig. Flux is totally underrated, pretty sure I read somewhere that it’s better than mig for strength and for use in non perfect metal.

Nice video. I have the Forney 125 FC. I normally use lincoln .30 Wire. my welds are usually dirty with so much buckshot. I have a friend that is a good welder although does not earn his living as a welder and he is telling me I need to reverse polarity on my Forney and that would clean up the buckshor and help with penetration. Are you familiar with changing the polarity on your Forney?

Forney has excellent machines and 1st class customer service! I believe that machine can handle 10 pound wire spools. I traded my Forney for a Lincoln high end and sometimes I regret the trade.

Did you do 220 libe yet? It's real easy. Locate the manufacturer of your box. Buy a double breaker 30 or 40 amp. 10:2 or 10:3 wire. 10.2 black and white or black and red go to the poles on your breaker the bare wire goes into the screw hole in the panel. Holding the outlet in your hands the black wire goes to the right. The white wire to the left. The bare wire on the green screw. If You're using 10.3 you will have red green black and a bare wire you will need a special outlet for that wiring set up. If using the 4 wire one then the red and black go into each pole on your double breaker the bare wire and green wire each get screwed into the screw slots on your box. Then you get your special plug for that wire and it will tell you where each wire goes. Hope that helps if you didn't do it yet.

Voltage and wire speed. Cordinate these two knob settings with the chart and go. Minimal ajustments are made accordingly.

I’d make sure everything is clean like where your grounding and where your welding. Then double check where your dials are on the recommended setting and try adjusting it from that. I hope it helps

Should have a chart somewhere on it or in the manual for you to adjust your settings for thicknesses and wire speeds

@@skullparty7638 i hear those aren't all that accurate. I was hoping someone could share some tested settings. Hoping to circumvent ruining some otherwise good steel in the name of testing my settings. Looking to expedite the process.

Optimal settings and accuracy come with experience. Follow the chart to get started. You need to develop a pulse in welding and you'll see. It's frustrating at first, but it will come to you. Take care my friend.👍

These machines are no longer designed and built in the USA, are completed Chinese, they only put the equipment in boxes in Colorado, mine lasted only 2 weeks, I waste 400 hundred dollars. They advertise: do not return the welder machine, of course, they know that they are selling junk compared with real brands you know what I mean blue and Red brands.
