I like to try and eat only non-native species. I'm up in the Northeast and will only keep Rainbows and Browns, that way not only are you getting really quality food without requiring any waste in transportation, but you also get remove predators and other things taking food out of the way from the ecosystem easing pressure on the natives

My overall impression? Gratitude for your channel. You and Andrew have shared some awesome adventures this year - and all the while your skills as videographers and editors continue to grow. Your production values are excellent. But I think what I appreciate most is your commitment to conservation, and especially your dedication to preserving native species in their natural habitats. Loved all the sequences in the annual review … but I have to admit that urban water in West Virginia just intrigues the daylights out of me! Thank you, gentlemen!

Great video. You didn't try to horse them in. You let them play and get tired. I can't count the times I've seen guy's lose a fish because they barely set the hook and start reeling it in. This is great for the youngster's to see how it is done! Bravo.

I'm watching your compilation 2022 as I make this comment. Big fish are great, growing up in Central Pennsylvania brook trout have always held a special place in my heart and I love your brook trout videos. I really enjoyed your video where you took your friend out and he fished his grandpas old bamboo rod. Back in the day when I work to fly shop in Central PA there was an older gentleman that used to go around to garage sales find old heavier line weight bamboo rods and reconfigure them to Make them smaller lighter line weight rods complete with new finishes, reel seats grips etc. It was just a kind of hobby for him but he would bring them into the shop and we would cast them and some of them worked quite well. As you mentioned in your video the weight, casting technique etc, is so different than the equipment we use today. Makes you want to tip your cap to the guys who started it all back in the day. I'm in my late '60s now at my knees have started to go and I just can't do the mountains the way I used to so I really appreciate your brook trout videos because I'm fishing vicariously right along with you! Keep up the good work!! 23:01

Man, when I saw the first fish caught , I knew that hole. I’ve caught several absolutely big bows on that stretch of creek. That hole and the few below that one can be as good of big rainbow fishing that I think one could say is world class. I kind of freak out just a little when I see places like this that I fish and regard as special on video. But, I remind myself that you guys are always respectful of not announcing the creek or place and I appreciate this!!!!! Awesome video , thanks!!!’

Great video guys. I was not aware that there were still brook trout in the appalachians. If you want real world class trophy Brook Trout come to Ontario Canada. Algoma country has Brookies that top the scales in the 6 to 8 pound range. To paraphrase Nick Dundee, that's a real Brookie!

What a ride! Impossible to nail down a favorite so I'll call it a tie between the big and fat rainbows, the big colorful brookies, and I think that was a cutbow? up in the high country. Oh, pulling that huge brown? out of that small, thin stretch of a creek. Any reel malfunction like what we saw and still landing the fish has to be on any highlight footage. Drum roll.......I'll take that high country, colored up big time cutbow? because the high country is where my heart is even though I started getting headaches with older age. Thanks for the show and Merry Christmas to all.

I haven’t finished watching the gull video yet. However, the first big girl rainbow was so impressive! I think the rainbows r typically better fighters to catch than the browns. Awesome video man. I would say it would help you land bigger fish if you set your drag properly to start and don’t mess with it. Also, it will help A LOT if you use the butt of the rod to fight them instead of the tip. Start fly fishing for carp, they’ll teach you how to fight big fish properly haha

Look for the rivière laval for fly fishing brookies or rivière St-Marguerite, native brookie up to 23 inches and you often catch 16-18 inches.
