Thanks! Looking for DIY non-"proper" tying stuff and will add these to the list. I've got a feather duster that I'm eyeing. It's long and multi colored. The fibers are a poly of some type. Looks like it would work good and it's free!

Hey, this is a great idea. I have been using Bonnie Cord in a similar way, but the Bonnie Cord does not hold marker color well.

Phentex stopped making olive color almost 15 years ago have found a few hanks in fly tying lots over the years. But yes the Olive is money. Hit me up if you need a bit to play with.

Yeah that stuff is hard to get a hold of. Appreciate the offer, i actually started to combine a few colors of phentex so make some cool natural tones. Thank you 🤘

What craft stores have this? It’s not here in Pennsylvania
@greenhornflyhornКүн бұрын
Michaels carries it in Canada, so I am sure they carry it down there. You can always jump across the border(1hr drive) and get some phentex plus a Tim Hortons coffee😆

Does it say on the package what the fibers are made of? Sounds like it could be polypropylene, if it floats. If so, it’s more or less Antron yarn (but of course cheaper). The big thing is how much space folks have for storage - buy 8 colors, that’s a big bin for just one material. I did that with the Spindrift wool yarn, bought like 18 colors but then it’s a huge box being stored - but, I love the stuff (it changes color when it gets wet).

Says 100% Olefin Exelon on the package. I honestly would just keep white, black and yellow if I had a storage issue. But!! Luckily i have a shoe box full of them! 😆

Great info.! EP fiber is one of my absolute favorites. Looks like a great substitute for much less. Thanks a Lot! 👍👍👌

@@charlieboutin3341 no problem! It’s even easier(and way cheaper) than Bonnie Craft cord to harvest. Good luck

I love using EP fibers, but I must say this stuff is excellent and CHEAP! In my opinion Bonnie Cord is terrible compared to this Phentex.
@greenhornflyhorn4 ай бұрын
I agree! Plus the Bonnie cord is crazy expensive nowadays

Where do y’all get it from, just amazon? 3 packs for $6?
@greenhornflyhorn4 ай бұрын
@@TieitAndFlyit any craft store or fabric store will carry it. Also yes Amazon carries it as well. Just didn’t provide a link yet in the description. 3 for $6 is a good price!
