The BEST Food in Kandy Sri Lanka. In this Sri Lanka travel vlog I am in Kandy looking for a Sri Lankan food known as Egg Hoppers. I finally find a place and they are known for their hoppers. I try this food in Sri Lanka for the first time and I think its the best food in Sri Lanka. It was so delicious and fair priced. Hoppers are a staple and best food in Sri Lanka.

Nah…. we eat at early morning also..this is in Kandy peradeniya road..most of shops there are buddhist shops they make at evening..tamil shops and Muslim shops they make hoppers at 5:30 am morning and available at 5:30 evening also

When I was in Saudi Arabia we ate string hoppers from Indian restaurants. But, we haven't see any restaurants making hoppers. However, occasionally we ate food from one and only Sri Lankan restaurant in Dammam and their foods are not that good for me those days. I mean in 2010 to 2012 period... Finally, we decided to start home cooking with my collogues and we reduced cost of our meal more than half, we enjoyed any other foods from different restaurants only in week ends...

Hoppers made with rice flour, coconut water n saltwater ... it got to ferment for abt 8 hrs.. Those ppl doing a good job.. explaining .. Next time try hoppers with seeni sambol (fried onions ) lunu miris n chicken curry

Hoppers are not something like bread . Hoppers have a long history. If you want to have good Hoppers you should have the Hoppers made at home not made in shops because vendors in order to make money always cook low quality Hoppers that are not yummy as the ones our mothers prepare at homes.

Normally you have to pay tips for the hotel staff in USA, it might be more than 10% and it is almost mandatory... But, why you are not paying any rupee for these peoples as a tip even after having this much of good food for one dollar... Yes, it is not mandatory. But, I have seen many foreigners are treating hotel staff when they are satisfied about their food... Actually it seems that they have added cheese for your egg hoppers which is not listed in their menu as well as in the price list, they did it because you ask something like that. But, they haven't charged for it too... We also feel that this food (two egg hoppers, one Veg rotee and Dhal curry) is so fair price than normal. But, still you just waved off and leave the place, good for you...
