EARTH ONE in their defense back in the 40’s and 50’s women were a lot more playful and feminine from the way they walked to the way they talked it was the beginning of the new era of true Hollywood glamour, now it’s morphed into what it is today. You know Marilyn didn’t really talk as softly and ditsy as she did on camera if you hear old actual recordings of interviews she’s done she actually sounds like a Normal young lady.

Ben Rogers - That was the problem. Plenty of men lusted after Marilyn, but those feelings go away after you climax. Nobody loved her and she's only legendary because she died young. If she was alive today, she would be nearly 92 and fancying her as an old woman would be like fancying your grandmother. That's okay for your grandfather, but not for men who weren't even born when she died.

Whatever the truth Norma Jean died of a broken heart. The most fantasized woman in the world died from starvation of love. She gave all, always, I think she is an even better singer live than actress, and as actress she was the best. She got nothing in return. Something's wrong here, people. Read 'Marilyn Monroe :Case Closed' & 'Victim' (transcriptions of her & Dr Greenson's therapy sessions) . You don't commit suicide when you've just been rehired by the studio for 1million dollars & you've told your Psychiatrist & friends you're re marrying Joe, cutting back on films & doing more stage work. Her neighbours & her handyman Norman Jefferies saw Bobby Kennedy there twice that day at 2.30pm & around 9pm. Norman & the Housekeeper, Eunice, were asked to leave for a while on 2nd visit. On their return she was comatose, but it's (still muddy as to whether Dr Greenson caused death by injection as paramedics were getting her colour back when he stopped them & lividity (normal corpse blood pooling) would have hidden needle mark . She rang Sydney Guillaroff her hairdresser that day, he said: "she was hysterical. She said Bobby Kennedy threatened me".

Marilyn Monroe was gorgeous. She’s been gone 60 years and is an icon. She had a rough childhood, needing love, affection, security and never found it. As an adult she found it with DiMaggio, but sadly put her career first. Her big mistake was getting involved the the Kennedys. She looked for love with the wrong men. I was deeply saddened when I read she died.

Let's give a shout out for being able to run downstairs with spike heels on. Not easy - it takes athleticism, courage to even attempt it. Same with backflips on a beach. We all know she could sing & dance but her athletic abilities were never mentioned or applauded.

Thanks for this footage. I feel exhausted just watching her "being Marilyn". She put so much effort into being sexy and coming onto the camera she must have been exhausted by it all. I wish she was alive now and acting in roles she would have been brilliant in, although she would be disgusted by the lack of real improvement in the status of women and the film industry.

The photos of Marilyn wearing a necklace (unusual for her to wear one but a good selection for the photos) are among my favorite images of her and give an idea of how she might have looked if she were that age in the 1970's instead of the 1950's. I've wondered how Marilyn would have looked in the 70's. Maybe someday someone who's good with computerized images and who understands the aging process can work with photos and show us how Marilyn would have looked at 46 or 56. I've seen a few such photos and they're very interesting.
