I got a question. I'm taking part in a3 way grow off with 2 relatives. All of us are very amateur, for me it's my first time. I follow much of your advice and I'm doing pretty daymn good. So my one relative is coming to check out my grow tomorrow morning. I'm at 12&12 into my second week of flower. All looks healthy. My timer set to 3p to 3a lights on. I want to switch to 10a to10p. Will this affect my girls to have only 7hrs of darkness instead of12 for one night? Will it affect the natural rhythm of the photo cells? Will it switch my girls into Hermis? My main reason is I want my plants to look awake and happy when she sees how I've been doing.

@@johnnytremba8724 I have done that in the past and it didn’t hurt anything, but honestly it all depends on the strain you are running and other grow room conditions etc. I don’t think you would have a problem as long as you leave it at that after the fact but if you try to go and do that and then switch back you might screw something up.

@@johnnytremba8724 from what I understand anyway, the more important thing is not to wake them up when they are sleeping. You don’t want light leaking in or you don’t want to be opening up your grow room when the lights are off that will definitely screw shit up.

I read so many comments on multiple grow channels and notice a lot of people are doing way too much and wondering why they have problems in grows. Less is a lot of the time better. Understanding that we all want the best we can..but I read so many folks shooting themselves in the foot trying to be almost mad scientist about it writing down the 30+ products they are using. Don't need all that. Keep it simple. Over the 20+ years I've been growing I myself have learn the hard way in the beginning..but keep it simple folks. Cannabis is very resilient and has thrived for 1000s of years. If that gives a picture. Why I like this dude. He does just that..A good soil, some good nutes/amendments, happy microbial and water. Just listen to your plants..they will communicate in sign language persay. They will let you know if they need anything..Don't give it what it doesn't ask for if it looks happy. 😉 good growing to you all!

I used a strawberry fields on the bottom 1/3 and ocean Forrest the top 2/3 but started my seed in a well the size of a solo cup of happy frog. The development through 7 weeks has been amazing. Thank you for this video, makes me feel like I’m doing something right.

Ive never had issues with ocean forest. I've been growing for over 3 years and had over a dozen harvest. When I started growing I was aware of the soil potentially being hot. I always flush about half a gallon through the soil before transplanting. I've even dropped seeds directly in the soil with no issues. But I do rinse the soil once before hand if that helps. If any issues at all it's gnats being in the soil at the feed store.

I can definitely attest to Ocean Forest being too hot for, not just seedlings, but I'm abt 5 days into flower, I'm still afraid to add flowering nutrients so I'm going to flush my roots and use Strawberry Fields. My 2nd ever indoor auto grow will start in a cpl days when my Mephisto Wedding Glue beans are delivered. Gonna go with 50:50 Ocean Forest and Happy Frog. Thanks!

Very Informative . This not only pointed out my exact problem I'm having but it also told me how to be better next time. Love the channel. New grower here. I messed up my first grow that ended up being a Hay weed bundle. Lesson learned! Now my second grow, I was running around like a chicken without a head wondering what was wrong with my Zkittlez Auto. I'm learning all on my own here. I was running FFOB alone, now I know my soil is the problem and not nute burn or nute deficiency. I learned alot here and will keep you posted with my next grow as I'm sure it will be much more successful.

Just getting done with my first gro, had one in a lite warrior core of 1gal in 4gal sohum (5gal fab pot) as per instructed by my local hydro shop. As soon as the roots hit the sohum, immediately had nitrogen toxicity issues. Second pot I went with 1/2 sohum on the bottom, and a 50/50 mix of the two on top, and it did worlds better.

Awesome... in one of your vids you talked about alfalfa. Never knew there was such a plant. I studied up on it and went looking for it. Couldn’t find it in any park here in Brooklyn. But was fortunate to find a small patch by a bus stop.. I figure I’d harvest it all and use to seed pods to grow my own yard of fertilizer!.. I have some drying outside as I comment. To be grounded into dry amendments. I’m trying to do everything organic and create my own ferts! I live close to beaches so I go scoop that poop!! Seabird!

Need some help! I’m growing my autos out .. Upto 12 weeks looks very sticky, tricombs are milky and the plant was very small but buds looks top quality, I’m doing something wrong here. As it’s taking me appropriate 7 days to dry but when I try a bit .. I smells nothing like bud should and there ain’t that much of a medical felling off it :( I’m curing it now but I can’t see that helping? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you 🙏🏻. In the UK we don’t have fox farm or ocean, happy frog strawberry fields .. so if your looking for pre fertilised soil you’ll need to buy house& garden bat guano OR Bio Bizz all in one mix OR even try perlagro bloom mix extra

Yeah they make some pretty good premixed stuff. I’ve noticed that the ocean forest calmed down a little bit because I know that back in 2014 it was really good soil and then around 2017 it got hot, but it looks like the tone down all that bat guano in there.

When he used the term "hot" regarding ocean forest, I believe he was refering to the concentration of nitrogen. That will cause burn. Ever see a piece of lawn the dogs like to use the most? Thats nitrogen burn.

Adding perlite makes a big difference. It helps your plants a TON. I've only grown 5 plants total but I'm a HUGE believer in using lots of perlite.

Indoor grow I’m such a noob! I have recharge because of you and I use molasses and aloe Vera and I plan on adding strawberry Fields when I get them in to flower and transplant from 3 gallon into 5 gallon. I made banana 🍌 tea because of you💚 I haven’t used it yet, it’s ready tomorrow😁 this well known plastic bottle of cal mag has me up at night!!!!! Don’t too dress with it. I like having the Strawberry Fields on the bottom half of the pot. But if you can’t do that, then use nutrients. I like using dry amendments by down to earth. I like to top dress with bone meal or fish bonemeal during flowering because of all that phosphorus.

@@420scene yeah I know I followed your soil makeup for this Autoflower grow from top to bottom I just have some yellowing as they go into the flowering stage... so I thought maybe next week some top dress. But I'll go with bone meal.. I seen a lot of conflicting numbers on how much bone meal to use and top dress with could you shed some light on that? I appreciate the reply brother been watching your videos religiously it's been a lot of help for a beginner grower such as myself with autoflowers and being indoor ....also...first time led user...etc. thanks again..(spider farmer se 3000 is excellent btw..the bar design is legit. @@stangcobra592 I use the Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Trio. I have NOT used my Ph pen since as this line of nutes corrects the Ph as long as the water is between 5.5 and 8.0. If I have to bump up for some flower nutes, I use "Flower Fuel" (1/2 dose) from Element Nutrients (USA product) This is very strong as its N-P-K is 1-34-32 so be careful. My auto runs do well with fox farms... I run bottom half strawberry fields and ocean forest mix with perlite.. top half happy frog and ocean forest with perlite... runoff gets low on ph but overall it’s great with nutes during flowering

1st off love your vids! now to my problem, i have well water which is very hard, lots of calcium and magnesium. so i bought a distiller and am going to water with distilled water. im wondering if i need to add nutrients to my water being im using 50-50 ocean forest and happy frog and it has nutrients in the soil? also i have gaia green 4-4-4 for feeding during veg and gaia green 2-8-4 powerbloom for flower. im obviously new but any info would help. im super worried about the water im feeding them. or would you recommend mixing my distilled water with my well water until the ppm was correct?

That's why you top dress your soil and not put it at the bottom of your pot the feeder Roots around the top of the soil anyways definitely a brilliant idea to have different mixtures of soil for different stages of life I'm going to try that soil mixture out 💪

Yeah man exactly. I top dress with fish bone meal. I don’t even know if I mentioned that in the video. But that’s why I like to have the strawberry fields at the bottom, so by the time it’s going to be flowering, the roots at the bottom are going to be able to utilize the SF.

I got some outdoor I just repotted into Grassroots 45 gal bags. I used 2 parts Ocean and One part Strawberry just did it 2 weeks ago. I had them in 10 gals for waaaay to long. They are looking good to! I added perlite to it because of an earlier video of yours saying Strawberry Fields has shit drainage before.
