I think it's important to appropriate the necessary quality of background removal means to optimize the desired ends. This is absolutely one specific use-case where Gimp consistently maintains the lead ahead of the competition. If the user is willing to spend the time, Gimp's versatility will allow them to get stunning results, and I'm speaking from my own experience.

I didn't know the Microsoft tool. I'm used to using GIMP for all this, but I'll give that one a try.

Thanks for the detailed comparison ❤. What is your preferred method of removing background?

I tend to use Adobe Express for quick background removal, then clean it up in GIMP.

One option you missed that the default photo viewer on windows actually has an option to remove the background.

Definitely didn't know about this - thanks!

@@DaviesMediaDesign It's pretty decent for simple stuff, also has a brush to add and remove parts, definitely not the best IMO.

So now we know several poor options for background removal, what would be a good option?
@gower19733 ай бұрын
Manually doing it yourself, its literally drawing a path around something

@@gower1973 I think you're right. Fine hair detail could be a difficult though.

Why not convert the the removed background image into a mask, and then feather the edges?

Best I've used is the Baazzart app on my phone. You can even ai upscale it after you remove the background.

Still wondering. I have seen nothing as yet.

I'll stick with manually removing backgrounds. I wouldn't feel comfortable uploading any photos to those companies, as they undoubtedly have fine print that allows them to collect, store, analyse and use whatever is uploaded for their own purposes.

I don't blame you.

Sometimes they mess up the image. I have proved that but it makes our work easier most times.
