It's this game basically just the "space-faring civilization" level of the old _Spore_ game, with exploring and colonizing new cutesy planets with cities and trading between planets or with other A.I.-controlled neighboring space civilizations? Minus the option to design your own species, animals and spaceships and the scanning of planets and the ability to pick up animals from one planet and "seed" them on other planets. And instead of harvesting different kinds of "spice" on the colonized worlds like in _Spore,_ this game takes a page from _Settlers of Catan._
