Best advice I can give for any newbies out there. Watch what he does at the end. Being able to “freestyle” on the piano in scale is extremely important. Learn music theory!! Even if it’s just basic stuff. I always argued that rap/hip hop was different and you could just use software or draw your notes out and being a musician wasn’t necessary etc and although technically true being able to do what he did at the end will open your world like never before.
