I honestly think Future Redeemed was my favourite game of the year, so I'm glad to see it here. Xenoblade 3 was not only my favourite game of last year, but dethroned Xenoblade 1 as my favourite game of all time, so More XC3 had a free ticket to the top. Incredible finale to the Klaus saga, I'm so excited to see what Monolith Soft cooks up next.

Wonder's great but did you like Superstars or Pizza Tower?

I haven't put enough time into Pizza Tower to really comment on it yet, and I'm not a fan of Sonic games, so that one's a pass for me.

@@ScionVyse That's a pity, Pizza Tower is easily my Game of the Year for 2023 as well as one of my favorite games of all time. Also, while I get the Sonic comparison, it doesn't really feel like a Sonic game to me, despite the emphasis on speed during the escapes. I just find it super satisfying to play, even when I'm failing (heck, I'm almost happy when I fail because it means I get to play more of the game, as odd as that sounds, though I do have my limits). Hopefully you'll give the game more time to form a stronger opinion on it... if you get the chance, that is.

FLCL + Rhythm Heaven + Kingdom Hearts is a really fun way to describe Hi-Fi Rush.

I must say, while some would expect The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate 3, and Hi-Fi Rush to be the top 3 games on any given "Games of the Year 2023" list, I find it refreshing that those weren't your top 2 (though they're all fantastic games). In particular, The Talos Principle 2 as the runner-up is cool to see, since I don't see many people even placing that game within their top 10. The more people shouting out lesser-known games as one of the best, the better, in my opinion! (sure wish Pizza Tower made the list, though)

Great video, never saw coverage of Lies of P but its on my radar now. Disappointed not to see Pikmin 4 here though, it pretty easily wormed its way into my top 10 of all time list.

You have earned a new sub my guy! I watched the first two Mario & Luigi retrospectives and I just find your way of doing videos so clear and concise. I can throw it on in the background and just have 30-60 mins of awesome information to listen to. Keep it up man!

Would you recommend playing Talos Principle 1 first?
@ScionVyse9 ай бұрын
Yeah, I would. The second game follows up directly after the end of the first one, and to really understand what's going on, and why it's important, you need the context of the first game. You don't necessarily need to 100% the game, nor play the expansion, but at least beat the base game. (I would recommend The Road to Gehenna though, it's the best Talos Principle content out there, both in terms of narrative and puzzles)
