I picked the laptop up a few months back and I absolutely love it. It does struggle with the latest and greatest games to be sure, but for anything else it's fantastic. It stays quiet and the battery life is solid for non-gaming

Looking for a cheaper laptop, suggestions plz. This isn't for serious gaming, it's for overseas use as my fiancé's PC isn't geared for gaming (she just uses it for teaching online), but she wants to play some games: Fortnite, Resident Evil 7, Yuzu Emulator - chocobo racing, Dead by daylight, RPCSX2 (ps2 emu, which struggles on my 9900k with no dedicated GPU, so I'm not sure what hardware to get), SIMS4.. obviously not looking for something that runs Tomb Raider or Minecraft in RTX mode, it just isn't necessary. WWE2022 might be a game she wants, not sure how powerful a system is needed to play any of this comfortably at at least medium settings (more than 40fps). Not willing to pay more than $500 or even $450, seeing that rtx 3060 laptops (used) go for $650 on ebay now, but not needing to buy that laptop because i want to save money for a dedicated CPU later. what i find annoying is ebay sells 1080 based laptops for $800, yet, 3060 laptops for $650, and those 1080 laptops should only be $350 at this point... but MX based laptops can barely do what i need for $500..

I posted this elsewhere - but I think it is important to note that there are older laptop that will spit these (and this one ) out; This is actually funny. I have been using ($300) Thinkpad W530 with a measly dedicated K1000M NVIDIA card 2x 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM, i7 intel and out does all these listed. For games like cyberpunk and other high-end games I recommend NVIDIA NOW, but you must have a 5G connection, and then you can play FULL GFX :-) $6/month though. I am still looking for a more modern sleek looking system but so far, nothing is equal to or surpasses a this Thinkpad. And NONE I found can take more than 8GB or 16GB as most. RAM is really important for these low end systems. CPU is important to but much more difficult to mod. This rig will happily run all OS's from windows vista all the way to windows 11 + and can easily run LInux any distro as well. It's old, but it is about functionality right? Oh ya, It is ugly not slick. LOL!!

Yo warning for anyone who plays a lot of indie titles: Note the fact this laptop has half keys for the arrow keys. I've played on those before they're a pain in the butt and will ruin your experience if the game in question uses arrow keys. Won't matter if you don't play any games with arrow keys but for me that is actually a deal breaker.

Sure but set your quality down. Overwatch run 60fps fine on gaming laptop, while these can handle 40fps or down. If you run into some lag reduce the grpahics and note you that these are ultrabook so one fan willl likely to overheat your laptop if your play to hardcore long, although fan is running is not enough rpm and power to cool down laptop.
