Ryan I just purchased a used pair of ironmasters and your videos helped me a lot in making the decision so thank you. I will keep referring to your videos as I begin my home gym now. Bench next!

@@RyanTreadaway I already have! I have been considering the Getrxd fidab-2 though because it has the aesthetics of the 5200/3.0 plus decline. Also they have a dumbbell holder accessory that I'm hoping will work well with the ironmasters. You have two great benches so idk if you'd be interested but not much reviews at all on this one currently.
@RyanTreadaway3 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with it. You can get a decline attachment for the 5100.

With the inversion boots try hanging upside down and "squatting" as a hamstring exercise. I do, and I love it.

PRX performance has a dumbbell rack that can mount to the wall
@RyanTreadaway2 жыл бұрын
I looked at those. I don't really see the point. They still have to stick out from the wall, roughly the same amount as a normal rack to hold the dumbbells. Plus, they're $300 PER SHELF. My 3 tier rack was $175 I think, which is ~$350 total. The equivalent storage space with those PRX racks would be $1800. That's insane.

My first purchase was also Iron Master adjustable dumbbells. I am planning on getting a 5-50 pound dumbbell set, so I will be in the camp of using Iron Masters for 55 pounds and up. We just don’t have the floor space for more than 5-50 pound pairs of fixed.
@RyanTreadaway3 жыл бұрын
I feel like that's the optimal setup in terms of the balance between price and convenience.

Sick gym bro! I’m looking to purchase a lot of new equipment soon. I got a much bigger home gym space and my new house so ideally, I’d like to add a full set of dumbbells from 5-100 lbs, a couple rep benches (the same models you have I believe and maybe the 5200 as well), and a few more 45 lb plates. Right now I have my eye on those rep urethane dumbbells with the two tier racks but it’s an unreal amount of money - $6k for the dumbbells and $1400 for two of the racks to hold all the dumbbells. Do you have any recommendations? I’d prefer to stay away from adjustable dumbbells because I’ve had them in the past and they are a time-consuming hassle changing constantly, sort of like what you mentioned with the cable machine.
@RyanTreadaway3 жыл бұрын
Nice! Congrats on the new house! That's my goal in the house to have 5-100 lb fixed urethane DBs from rep + the IMs for anything over 100. You could do fixed DBs that go up to whatever weight you use on a regular basis and use adjustable DBs for everything over that. I love the IMs. They, without exaggeration, feel like fixed DBs in the hand. They actually feel better than many fixed DBs I've used in the past.

im only getting number plates bc when i dead lift im kinda new so i wont always be repping a full size plate so it will stay the same hight off the ground

That's a great use for bumper plates. You can actually get "technique plates" that are 5 lbs but the size of a 45 lb bumper.

@@ipappim7336 You can always attach a pulley on the bottom of your rack like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ3Zq5Z3lNeWj6s Or you could make a low pulley platform to stand on and do lower cable exercises like Ryan made: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX-9gWOsg7KbhtU (I think the best option is to drill if you can, and use concrete wedges in to the ground.)
