FINALLY, some practicality. Thank you guys. I was getting really tired of ultralighters talking about clothes magically drying off, or how it's not necessary to carry a means to make a fire, or promoting feather-light 3 season tents that let blasts of cold air blow in at night (why not just tarp camp or cowboy camp?), etc.

All great tips, here's one for you... Bring a Gatorade bottle in your tent/hammock for going pee in the middle of the night. Getting up and out in the cold with most likely cold clothes will chill you to the bones.

i use a nalgene bottle with boiling hot water inside my sleeping bag. Even use an old thermal cellfoam thermalrest palm size in my pockets to warm my hands. Works in boots too

I agree with chair insulation. I carry a z-seat hanging off my pack for something to sit on during the day and then it's my insulation for my chair once I get to camp.

I have watched you do winter backpacking at Mohican Park and Pack sites. ODNR is saying they may never reopen those sites. Maybe that is a reason we haven't seen you camping this winter? Hoping you can encourage people in Ohio to contact ODNR and their state reps to save this resource.

Hey guys, try using a tech blanket like the Snugpak jungle blanket, to insulate the floor of your tent. This is what I use. This helps to keep your condensation down as well. It works great as a multi purpose gear item. If it gets too cold, pull it over you for extra warmth. You will definitely find it useful

Get a fleece vest and a windbreaker. Your pits stay free so they vent heat and sweat but the core stays warm. The windbreaker needs no coating of any kind to block the rain. You want it to be as breathable as possible.

Hey Boys, I just did my best to order a sweatshirt, Tee, and sticker. I was unable to navigate to the checkout section. I tried a couple of times. Since I live in Westerville, can I deliver cash? You boys' have So much to learn ,,, The best way to camp in the sub freezing winter is with a proper canvas Hot Tent ,, Total comfort and conditions to create other segments of outdoor lifestyles Inside ........ leave the hanging in the trees to the monkeys in the tropics ... But 35-38 degrees is hardly winter .. ... Don't bring a tarp .... bring a tarp ... you're So confused ... maybe that freezing 38 degrees has frozen you brain ...
