Based on your video Clint, I got a pair of the Tifosi slice fototec for Christmas. Wore them around the house just for a bit, and like you said, I could hardly tell I had them on--super light. Took them out on a walk in the Utah sun earlier this week, and they darkened up just fine--no squinting in bright sunlight. Took them on a road ride today, and the field of vision is wide open! No bar across the top of the lenses really opens up the view. The only piece I can see is the nose bridge, and that's when I'm looking out of the corner of my eye--so really have to hunt to "see" that the glasses are on my face. You get the award for best piece of mtb gear for me in 2020; thanks!!!!

Sweet... need more options for prescription lenses... almost pulled the trigger on some prescription Oakley prism trail lenses except I almost fainted when I found out the price, lol.

I own Tifosi Podiums that are similar to the Slice in a lot of ways, but have never tried the Slice. My personal preference though is the Roka SL-1X Tactical. They’re similar in concept to the Slice, but with nicer materials and craftsmanship than Tifosi, IMO. That also means they’re a lot more expensive though. They come with different nose pieces to allow adjustment of how far out the lens sits on the face (and whether they hit your brows). Lens clarify is really spectacular on the Rokas, and I’ve also had better luck avoiding scratching with them. (My Tifosi scratched fairly easily in my case, but at least they’re cheap!) There’s definitely an argument for cheap safety glasses too, but they seem to scratch too easily and I notice viewing distortions with them. But hey, to each their own.

Safety glasses is where it's at. Every feature he described plus are safer plus they're about 5 to ten bucks. Since we all crash at some point it's the cheaper safer option

They definitely work, and I've used them for night riding sometimes. But I do like the photochromic lenses of the Slice, and, for me, they are more comfortable to wear. The hard case and the soft cloth included are also a bonus!

I own Oakleys and I own Tifosis. Tifosi makes a product that's right up there with Oakleys.

Mountain bike riding on trails , I prefer no sunglasses or Milwaukee safety clear glasses 👓 and road bike Oakley jawbreaker always on sale half price time to time !

I've had several pairs of Tifosi. I think they're a great value and good performers although I wish the lense quality was a bit better. They scratch easily and the tinted coating seems to degrade over short time. I do plan on trying the photochromatic next.

Really confused between Tifosi and Siroko. Or, maybe there’s another affordable brand I don’t know.

Same here....tifosi slice are awesome. I forgot i had them on driving home from a ride. (I use the photochromatic lens)

Have you tried them on a night ride, do they stay clear? Happy New Year !!
@frankstrobel43502 жыл бұрын
@@BuggSmasher yes… they are clear until sunlight hits them. Then they start to tint.

On the issue of sweat dropping on the glasses, have you ever tried wearing a cycling cap under your helmet? I had the problem of sweat going into my eyes and wearing the cap stopped that from happening.
@ClintGibbs3 жыл бұрын
It's just way too hot here in the summer to have a cap on under your helmet. I tried some cycling specific headbands but they put a little bit too much pressure on my head.

Have they ever fogged up

Not that I can remember. They sit far enough off your face so that isn't an issue.

I was wondering are the glasses u can put subscription lenses in.or have some made
@ClintGibbs3 жыл бұрын
I've not done that but some of them allow for clip-in prescription lenses. I know that some of the Siroko glasses I have do that and I'm pretty sure Tifosi has some as well

Great review Clint.... I don't like wearing glasses as my eyes are very sensitive to the slight distortion (magnification?) effect that they have on the trail. I ride a lot of steep technical trails in Hong Kong and all the glasses I have tried (Oakley and Ryders) make me feel like I can't be as accurate when timing difficult tech sections. Do you notice any distortion with these glasses? From a safety standpoint I know I should be wearings some eye protection... thanks for all the great vids lately!
@ClintGibbs3 жыл бұрын
No, I do not notice any distortion at all with these glasses. I ride pretty heavily wooded trails so glasses are a must. It's too risky to have a branch hit my eyes.

Josh White.....I know what you mean. I tried several different glasses and each time felt "disconnected" from the trail....I'm gonna try Clint's recommendation and order the Slice.

What lens color do you use for sunny conditions??
@ClintGibbs2 жыл бұрын
The lenses that I use are the photochromic that get darker in the sun. So they basically turn kind of a smoke color when it's sunny.

would you recommend the enliven bike glasses?? also would they fit a woman’s face? or are they just for men
@ClintGibbs3 жыл бұрын
I've not tried that specific model but I tried some similar.. Yes, they are very good. You won't have the seamless transition at the top since there is a frame so it's a matter of preference regarding that.
@etourdizzy3 жыл бұрын
@@ClintGibbs okay gotcha! what would you recommend for mtb that would be affordable?
