I just bought a refurbished Garmin S12 for $89 from GPS City and have played 2 rounds with it and am 100% totally satisfied and great features for an amazing price. Added the Garmin Golf App on my iPad and it syncs immediately. Extremely comfortable and light to wear. I love how it learns you are keeping score and the scoring screen appears immediately after I exit the green. I had a SkyCaddie with a very expensive subscription fee and I am done with paying every year and have an easier to use GPS with great features. Highly recommended.

Great video, could you possibly tell us which ones require paid subscription (if any) for use of the apps for the watches.

Thanks for watching! All will work without a subscription, but the SkyCaddy LX2 needs a subscription to unlock features that the others have for free, and the Garmin also offers a subscription but the features it unlocks aren't really applicable to their S12. I hope that helps.

Kevin a question for you as Skycaddie walk the course as opposed to GPS which watch in your opinion gives the most accurate yardage?

In my opinion Skycaddie will give you the most accurate course maps - so there shouldn’t be any hazards missing. But it doesn’t mean their gps is any more accurate than any others, so I found the yardages for the most part we’re the same as other gps watches I’ve used

Hi Good video.....i currently have the s12 and no other watches ...and am trying to decide between the s62 / s70 / Apple series 8 / Epix Gen2 .....still can not decide.....i golf about 120-150 rounds a year.... I want something that can be used as a good golf watch and a good everyday watch with health stats........interested in what your thoughts are on this.....thx...cheers from Vulcan Canada

Thanks Golf Addict. I think it will depend on a few factors. What’s most important to you: battery life - any Garmin screen quality - Apple Watch, Garmin s70, epix gen 2, compatibility with your phone - Apple Watch (if you’re running android this doesn’t really matter) golf features - maybe Garmin s62,s70, epix g2, but Apple Watches do everything you need price - Apple Watch, s62 Hope that helps

For that price, I think it’s a good watch 👍 if you’re looking for a colour touch screen or full hole maps, this is the best option in that price range that I’ve tested. Thank you Tony 👍 You might want to check out the new Shotscope V5 that launched today, but based on previous experience you might not be keen.

Whatever you do, dont buy a garmin...their customer service is the worst. My screen died with less than 3 years use. They could care less....its a $1000.00 paperweight. The tech is old after two years....get something cheaper and replace it...use companies that support their products.

Hmm, upset that a golf watch died after almost 3 years? You do know that their warranty is only for one year, right? If not, you should have. Doesn't matter if you paid $1K or $150. This has nothing to do with standing by a product that is years past the warranty period. Golf watches are pretty much disposable items, much like computer printers. You'll most likely get a few years out of one before have you have to replace it, plan and purchase accordingly.

I haven’t had a need contact their customer services, so I can’t really comment I’m afraid. But all the tech I’ve bought over the years is still going strong. You do have to update firmware via their downloaded program on a pic or laptop.
