Very useful, thanks. I'm needing to train mine to grow down and get the hairs straighter as they're too curly and unkempt-looking. Wouldn't get this from a beard barber either. Got to be done by moi I guess.

I have a question. I work as a mechanic. So every day I am having to wash it with shampoo to get the grease and oil out. Because of this my beard is not that soft. I know I shouldn't be washing it this often but I need to. I know it's stripping the natural oils out. Is there any suggestions that I could do to get the softness back in my beard? And the things I should do just for general care on it given my situation?
@72beetlevw7 жыл бұрын
Beard oil and beard balm or beard butter will really help with this. In your situation washing yours out daily is a good idea if not a necessity because of the work you do. Even though you may be washing out some of those natural oils it's much better than have the dirt clog your pores. But the oil and balm/butter will really help replenish what you lose through washing. I have to wash mine with beard wash at least every other day or I itch like crazy because of how oily my skin gets.

Try leaving beard softener in your beard. Also, try Aquaphor---rub it into your beard and leave it. AND, try using hair conditioner to remove the grease in your beard first. Finally, just like in food service and medical jobs, you might want to consider a cover for your beard for the day---I know that you wont look ultra cool, but your beard will thank you

Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate the help. I will definitely give these a try.

Cool vid, although today’s tips don’t apply to me because I would totally look like a chipmunk. Believe it or not, not the look I go for on a regular basis although it looks great on you. With that being said, I appreciate your time and effort Greg. Thank you. Peace and Love

Touching and pulling your beard is one of the toughest habits to break. Trust us, we've been there, man. But hey, Carlos actually goes into this subject a little more in depth in this video if you want to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nInRin6hebGjpcU Hope this helps! - Jack

In that case, you'll want to blow dry your hair down and brush down as well. That should make your beard lay much flatter. - Jack

I want to express myself without being offensive because for me this is not how a man looks (3:13). With "men" I'm referring to all the concept of being man, not only about genre. Beard is a symbol of masculinity. Simple as that. IMO, it's ok a basic caring and grooming but if you need to stay on the mirror for hours, with a brush, a hair dryer and different products... How does that separate you from women? Men are attractive with personality. You can be a completely shaved face man and still being masculine which is what women like. If I use my beard long is because of how practical it is, it's saves me ton of time and the irritated skin and looks good. Be real!

I had my first beard trim and this woman fucked it all up, disheartening to say the least. Left side is longer than the right, trimmed my mustache down. It looked great but I told her this was the "growth phase". I'm holding on since I have $1,000 in beardbrand products at this point but not happy right now!
