There's a new shop that opened up in Olde Mystick Village in Mystic, CT called "The Cloak and Wand." There were Halloween decorations outside and a literal line to get in. They had this really cool cabinet-of-curiosities aesthetic and sold lots of spooky stuff, D&D and Harry Potter merch, craft wands, books of folklore, etc. And in the back they had these Victorian-style display cabinets full of skulls and shrunken heads and the like. They also had this cafe where they sold juice drinks with names like "hex on the beach" and "embalming fluid," and the label on the cup was so awesome I actually kept the cup. It's like Goth Diagon Alley! I am just so happy that places like that exist in the world, and that I can go to them. It's validating.

I can't wait to see all the Haunted Mansion decor! I feel really bad for Michael's this year, and their employees. I'm a Halloween villager, and watching people lose their minds in village groups was just sad. It's not their faults the supply chain was interrupted. I did manage to get my must have piece this year, a haunted whiskey distillery, but did miss seeing a full display like years past.

As a worker at Michaels this season, I can confirm that we didn't get some Halloween stuff in until 3 days before the holiday itself. It was sad, but due to delayed shipments that we had no control over.

the bottles with glued in stoppers easily open with a tiny bit of heat. i cleared off the hot glue they used from the inside of the mouth and replaced with an actual wooden cork. and since i'm now on blood pressure meds i put them in it it says "deadly pumpkin potion" i love it and it fits my personality perfectly

That’s my local Michael’s too, and it was so disappointing compared to previous years. That store usually has multiple aisles of Halloween decor and craft supplies but when I went there was only a little bit in the very back of the store.

I love all the things you have shown and have been a fan of yours early 2000's . You inspired me to fly my goth flag fly free . I know you may have not thought about it but I found some wonderful gothy delights at Dollar General ! They had poison bottles and plaques , towels, dishes , and trinkets galore . Just a suggestion. I love spooky things and Halloween, and your decorations and lighting effects are fantastic! You really create a whole other world with your lighting atmospherics, and you place fluorescent items under the black light to get unique nuances. That and some stereo sound effects makes a fun Halloween, I’m thinking. :) 💜🎃

Couldn't you just cut off or saw off the lid and then glue a cork to it in the same size as the bottle's neck? Making it closeable and openable? I'm pretty sure that would help to make the bottles useable if they're hollow inside.

The BEST witch cauldron of this year was from Target. It was a HUGE metal food-safe cauldron by Threshold priced at $30.00 and a steal for that price. Problem is, it's quite large and you have to store it away until next Halloween, unless you're like me and can leave it out all year-round!

@@PhoenixsArt Halloween started in EU-Irland, and came back when Harry Potter became poplar. It's still not as big as it is in the US, but was much, much bigger in the past 2 decades than it is since 2019. Usually we get the things in our stores that China could not sell in the US ;)

I got the crystal ball Wallflower by Bath and Body Works this year. I had to get it from a reseller on EBay though. Grrr... The seller had already sold 20 of them and had 4 more available. I got birthday money in September, so I used that to pay double the retail price. I'm surprised to see a Michael's so under-stocked. Then again, I feel like my local one just kept their actual Halloween merchandise section kinda small, which made it seem fuller? All I know is, there was an _alarming_ amount of leopard print Halloween merchandise at mine, a fair bit of pastel goth Halloween and vintage spooky, and very little holdover from the Enchanted Forest and Gothic Garden collections I was looking for. There surprisingly were very few (if any!) leftover yoga skeletons here, but it seemed like a lot of stuff only ever showed up as ones or twos of any particular thing. Like the weird goblincore/vulture-culture deer skull in the light-up cloche. I figured there might be more coming when I saw one on the shelf, and decided to think on it a bit before dropping money on it, only to miss out entirely! They _did_ have some pretty decent ceramic cauldrons (albeit without handles, so a small tick against them), in a matte finish that makes them look impressively like cast iron. Very nice, very subtle and elegant in their simplicity. I'm impressed at your Target haul, though. I wouldn't have expected classy Halloween tableware from them, especially given the fruity skulls.

I was at that Kissimmee Joann's about a week before you were (according to your instagram, at least) and they had a lot more stuff, but here in Orlando you have to race to fight the other Halloween Horror Nights lovers and Spooky Empire creeps to get the good stuff. I can't believe the difference from one week to another! Those supply chain issues are the real deal this year. That Michaels never had anything good this year, though. The other Kissimmee Michaels had more stuff, but still wasn't as good as the stuff you showed in your michaels that was closer to home.

I would maybe try again at Target but in the dollar section. There isn't likely to be much of value, especially this late, but I've seen some nice glass bottles with removable corks.
