I know it's not a wide-angle lens but when focused at the closest focusing distance even at f32 you won't get enough depth of field to keep distant objects sharp. So maybe not the best choice for landscape photographers.
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions 10 ай бұрын
Hmm that’s a given since no lens except the ultra wides will have that effect. But to be exact as a landscape shooter, you will probably not choose to focus at the closest but instead choose somewhere in between that’s good enough for foreground and background sharpness for the DOF. DOF goes both front and back so focusing at the closest don’t quite make sense.

That's almost any lens/camera at close focus distance. That is what using hyperlocal distance is about. Or doing focus stacking.

Beautiful lens and nice video. I think the movement really depends on the actually lens and not just new or old, some of my older XCD lenses like the 80 1.9 had more movement than my current 38mm V
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions Жыл бұрын
That's my guess really. Or it may just be variation in the batch. Im not too concern since I seen this quite often but just highlighting as some may feel for premium lens like this shouldn't have such motion

The new lens seems to have poorer tolerance resulting in that shake. However if you are lucky you may get one without it. The x2d and 55v i had fitted nicely that i didnt even know the problem existed. Until i saw other users sharing about it. And sadly it is more common than one would expect. So i guess i was lucky. I had however sold my unit away to move back to the SL2 partly because i wanted something with face detect and files are supported by capture one. Now that new firmware has face detect i'm very tempted to go back. But the though of know i may get one that is shaky irks me. haha
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions Жыл бұрын
I think the shake don’t matter much, as long as while using it’s flat is all the matters . But for the price it just feels alittle cheap I guess haha. In real world I think the x2d system is outstanding

No doubt of the image quality. And honestly missing it a lot after going back to sl2. Worst part about wanting to go back is that local price is honestly ridiculous and makes more sense to buy overseas there. Buy a camera and get a fully paid holiday lol. But won’t be travelling anytime soon too sadly.

@@daltonljj Currently I’m shooting mainly events, 95% of them with the SL2-S and the Summicron-SL 2/75. Killer combo, specially that lens delivers jaw dropping results for people, portrait and landscape photography. The zoom are my feet. It has also a psychological effect, showing up with a Leica or Hasselblad makes the people eager to get photographed. The other 5% I shoot with Nikon in the best trustworthy combo ever for such things, D6 and/or D850 + AF-S 70-200mm 1:2.8E FL ED VR (always as backup with me, the AF-S 24-70mm 1:2.8G ED). - I’m about to purchase either a X2D or GFX100s or II. I’m photo centric, no videos and because of the HNCS and leaf shutter I tended to Hasselblad. But loose lenses? Ouch…

Just went back to X2D and received my unit yesterday. Can confirm their QC is pretty bad. My first unit wasn’t as bad as the one in your video slight movement. The new unit is really tight. When fully mounted doesn’t move a bit. The worst part was the lens hood. It was ridiculously tight to put on. So much so I was worried I would damage it when installing it.
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions Жыл бұрын
@@daltonljj I hate the way Hasselblad does it’s hood. If I can give a feedback, it’s to make a simpler, blindly can click on type rather than this pointless tight and requiring specific alignment hood

I have the X2D plus the 38V, 55V and 90V. The 38 is also at 2.5 sharp in the edges (the 38 is in terms of technical sharpness the best of all V lenses), followed by the 90 very close up, the 55 you must shoot 5.6 to 8 if you need sharp edges. Honestly, for a lens at that price, I’d expect also wide open edge to edge sharpness. I shoot also Leica. If someone wants widest open really edge to edge sharp lenses, go with the Leica SL2 or SL3 system and get the APO-Summicron-SL lenses you need. That lenses are the only one in the industry which deserve the label perfection. A Lightroom lens profile does not exist, simply because it is not necessary. Besides the edge-edge sharpness, they have no CA, no barrel nor pin distortion. Besides, the Leica SL system is definitely weather proof. I used it already for up to 2 hrs in pouring rain, I was soaked even wearing an Arc’teryx SV jacket, no issues with the SL2-S and APO-Summicron-SL 2/75, the combo I used that day.

U tried holding the lens and try shaking ? U need to use abit of strength to see it’s tight like in the video haha. I didn’t know the 90mm f2.5 is loud. I was expecting them to use the same silent shutter. I have the older f3.2 90mm and that’s really loud

‼️I bet that shaking are production errors. I don’t yet have a V lens myself but as far as I got it, there are V lenses having no tolerance issues. I suggest to talk to Hasselblad and directly confront them. That’s not normal, specially not at that price tag. It’s also an entry point for water and dust. The tolerance issue can be at both sides, the lens and/or the mount of the body. But because the old lenses fit tightly, it must be a manufacturing problem at one or several batches of the V lenses. ➡️ To Hasselblad I suggest to start a recall action
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions Жыл бұрын
it’s not as rare you think. I have used many system as long as the lens don’t shake in normal usage it’s fine. I’m just showing that if compared to the older lens tolerance isn’t as great, but compared to many other system , it’s still pretty ok
@rolandrickphotography
@rolandrickphotography Жыл бұрын
@@ZPProductions Well, if it’s not that rare, then it’s even worse as I thought. We’re talking here about lenses and bodies hand made in Sweden in the top price class. That’s like purchasing a Mercedes S Class, Bentley or Rolls Royce and having click clack noises somewhere. Totally unacceptable. Just as comparison, for outdoor macros (focus stacking hand held) I use an OM-1 with the M.Zuiko 60mm 2.8 macro lens, that’s my least expensive combo. You can’t wobble the mounted lens and there are also no other noises.
@ZPProductions
@ZPProductions Жыл бұрын
@@rolandrickphotography Actually Sony GM lenses are also like this. Similarly shakable. But you do have a point considering its price. I don't think it's a big deal as I seem numerous lenses in my review time that does similar with no effect to output. However the first time Hasselblad buyer may not know about it.

I agree on this. Luxury items,like with luxury cars and watches. No room for errors. No excuses. Was about to pull the trigger on this but i’ll stick with leica until Hasselblad gets their quality in check. If not then doesnt matter how great the design and perfect images it can produce. If i buy something perfect, i expect it to be perfect.
