Shrimp chips make me laugh because I enjoy them, but people who hate seafood get so disgusted by them! It's been years since I've had them so thanks for the nostalgia! Love chips and chocolate! I'd be snacking so hard if I went to Hawaii too! The One-ton is such a cool name! You made me so hungry I had to pause and grab my apple chips to finish the video with you two haha.
@TwinsTry3 жыл бұрын
omg I loveeee them too...I'm always a lil self-conscious eating the shrimp chips around those that don't like seafood since it sometimes can be overwhelming!

If you try & pack shrimp chips in your bags & come away w/crushed chips, use as breading for deep-frying, such as corn meal/panko/flour. FYI....If you're looking to ship Bunch of perishable Hawaiian souvenirs, pack/ship separate boxes to relative/trusted neighbors while on your vacay. That way, save on shipping costs & luggage space.

The Maebo chips are the second oldest ( Diamond Bakery being the oldest) manufacturing snack as I remember eating that as a kid in the 1960s. The Maebo chips are expensive even though I live in Hawaii. The Maebo chips can be mail ordered from their plant in Hilo. The Hawaiian Chip Company wholesale and retail store is open to the public, it's on the way from the airport to Waikiki just off of North Nimitz Hwy in the industrial section of the Kalihi district of Honolulu. A lot of people get a lot of different flavors there at a lesser price.
@TwinsTry3 жыл бұрын
Omg! We need to go back to pick up more from Hawaiian chip company! I def loved those snacks! Good to know that it’s cheaper price too! Thank you for the history! Hope this brought back some good memories!

that shrimp chips makes me want to find one. There’s a similar chips brand here in the US of the taro chips, I think it was Terra. I like Less seasoned taro chips. :) that espresso bean must be sooo strong. 😋 Great selection of snacks!
@TwinsTry3 жыл бұрын
you definitely should! shrimp chips are so delicious! Ahh! Terra is a good brand of the chips; I like them too but I wish they didn't salt them D:

Thank you for the video. I'm going to Hawaii soon and would love to try the huge, white shrimp chip you bought from Costco. I'm not a club member there. So can I find that huge shrimp chip elsewhere in Hawaii, like a local grocery store? I think my son would find that size to be so cool. Thanks
@TwinsTry2 жыл бұрын
You can find smaller size bags of those at 7/11 there! Also ABC stores carry them in the smaller bag size!

Thank you for the great video. I do videos on cultural cooking and Baking and I have learned a lot about many of the cultures. But I find Hawaiian food so unique:)
@harrymiram5562 Жыл бұрын
IMO....Local Hawaiian cuisine may seem simple & not so complex but dishes contain multiple layers of taste, history & tradition! Even if just once, or twice, you Must/Should sample some of the local aromas & vibes!
@sammatsusaka8232 жыл бұрын
I didn't go, but next time you come back to Hawaii. You should go to the Hawaiian Chip Factory. I heard the TARO CHIP tastes different (warm) plus you can get it in different flavors.
