Trying to use up the abundance of garden tomatoes, I thought I would take a crack at smoked tomato soup. This is the best tomato soup I have ever. Smoking while roasting has to be the best technique to make the perfect soup - that plus the homemade chicken stock. I highly recommend giving this a try!

Man, that looks good. I've gone a week since teeth replacement and have eaten nothing but canned tomato soup. I still want your version.

i pulled mine all out. Never want a Dentist in my mouth again . I also was tired of the pain. And 300 dollars to pull a freaking tooth. All i used was a strong string. I learn to eat and talk with out teeth. You use your teeth to help pronounce words. I had to learn how to talk again. I might have to grind it up thro like nuts or cut the corn off the cob. Plus i can't bite any one 😆 If i want a apple i have to grind it up. Steaks most of the time i can gum them up, or take my finger and pull it into smaller pieces. When you get a lot of food in your mouth the pressure on it, helps break it down and i use my tongue to smash thing on the roof of my mouth. Hey it works But you really got to watch out for potato chips! Make sure there flat. Or they will cut your gums.

I make a ton of soups in the fall / winter - this used up a ton of my garden tomatoes. I actually made a chicken soup this week - thinking of doing a chicken soup with meatballs next week. Cheers Manny!

Glad to see someone else had this idea before I did of doing the roasting of the vegetables on some type of smoker! So much flavor just lost to an oven. This looks killer, I’ll definitely be giving it a go this fall! What were your thoughts on the Colby jack/oaxaca combo? Did it pair well with the soup, or did you prefer something else?

I use so many onions and tomato's ~ I got 2 big plastic cups 1 is full of chopped tomato's the other is full of chopped minced onions. Ready to rapped fire on the stove ect. i put saran wrap over the tops and i set the tomato cup inside the onions that got saran wrap over it to. stack in the refrig. I've been adding garlic salt to the cup of tomato's stir it in. This help to keep them fresh, plus i love the favor. They last about a week, then i wash the cup out and reused them again and again for tomato's and onions ~ It just save me time and if i want a salad, sandwich, tacos, hamburgers, soups ect THERE ALWAYS READY

I quit shopping on E-bay cause i don't like PAY PAL there crooked 🤬 So its Amazon >> If your felling sluggish and don't want to do any thing! Its the weather! Your blood is thickening up! Making you feel this way. I do after 2 weeks of this cold snap. 👀 YUMMY and hearty on a cold winter day

Looks really good but being inexperienced in making homemade soups, I was really looking for more instructions. How many pounds of Romas did you use? What temp did you cook the mire poix & stock? How long until tomatoes were added? How long until blended? Did you strain it? Thx!

I don't strain it. As for pounds- really no idea. I just pulled all the ripe ones I had off plants and filled the sheet tray. Don't stress on the amounts... you could add more carrots/ onions/Chilli peppers and still have a banging soup. Blend when everything's soft to get a good texture. Simmer on medium - to medium low. As low as it will go to just slowly bubble

That cheese toasted sandwich looks like something I'd cook for myself on the weekend that I don't have my daughter - I can just taste the flavour that will be in that soup with my eyes Nate!

Nate my friend, outstanding recipe & you went above & beyond the call of duty on this recipe, I really like this, but it is my wife's fave comfort food & we eat it year round, but especially in autumn &,winter. My recipe is close to yours pal & I only change/add 3 things. I use swiss gruyere cheese ( our fave but a little costly) but you must have grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I add 2 items to my soup, but I suggest adding it to 1 bowl instead of the whole pot the 1st time in case you or the family don't like, for just an average bowl of appx. 12 ounces, a level teaspoon of fresh dill weed & chives, if you can't get fresh, the dried is good also, but let it sit in the soup 3-4 minutes so the herbs can flavor the soup, i think you will really like it as we do & if you do just do the math & make the whole pot of soup that way or to your taste. btw, in rural Kentucky we call them grilt cheese sammiches & mater soup, lol, just Irish/scottish hillbilly lingo, lol.
