I'm interested in what you use for Australian History. We also love Generations.

GREAT QUESTION! I'm currently working on a mammoth script on Australian homeschool curriculum ...the best I have found is one by LEM which is actually homeschool curriculum. Everything else is just books you read to kids, which can also be good. i actually ordered LEM plus about 5 of these books people recommended for homeschool history. So I'll go through them all and in due time pop an article on my website at homeschoolcurriculum101.com which will hopefully explain the [somewhat meager] Australian History Curriculum options.

Notgrass was great. My son, now 22, loved it.

OMG such perfect timing! I was JUST looking at Notgrass. I have a 3rd and kindergartner this year. Do you think we could do the world history with them?
@howtohomeschool2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! They have primary school curriuclum, so I think that would run for a K and a Grade 3 student. I think it's called 'A Star-Spangled [something-a-rather]'. Glad the timing was good!!!

I personally love Notgrass and BJU equally, because they are both so good. I’m such a big reader and love all of that literature that Notgrass provides and the way they teach multiple grades at once!

Yes. I do both of them too! I often take the Notgrass books to a cafe and read them to the kids.

You missed Guest Hollow.

That name came up, but not many people on the forums voted for it. So I just included the popular ones in this video. What do you like about Guest Hollow history can I ask?

@@howtohomeschool I like that it’s a buffet of books, videos, and activities to do. I like that the books chosen are pertaining to the subject being studied as opposed to Bookshark or Sonlight. I do prefer a 4-day school week though. GH is 5 days.

Have you ever looked at Sonlight or Ambleside Online? If so, what do you think of them?
@howtohomeschoolАй бұрын
I like Ambleside more but it is a little parent intensive. Also you have to buy the books so its not completely free. Sonlight is literature-based...not Charlotte Mason like Ambleside is. I have hesitations about Sonlight because I think they sit on the fence too much with the creation/evolution issues in science. Some families don't mind this though. Sonlight is also very book-heavy. This will be good for some kids, but not for others.
