The idea is awesome, only having to plug it in and have major savings on your daily commute. But I love the gas motor feel, sound, and smell. Replacing these with all of our current batteries now that would be a huge win. Great one to talk about man!

I love the idea of the type of battery. Longer lasting & faster charging will be great. It the biggest problem with going to electric, distance and time.

absolutely and that's what keeps me away. The solid state batteries will be the game changer!

I’ve seen the LiveWire lacks a “proper” transmission, maybe once they can downsize the battery, they’ll extend the range with a proper transmission.
@BikesBeardsAndBrews10 күн бұрын
None of the electric vehicles use a traditional transmission but they have torque for days. Even that LiveWire. That thing will tear your arms off. A solid state battery would easily triple the distance it can go

What an informative video! Back massager...I'm in, lol. Even though we ride Glodwings (Gen 5), I'm not sure I would buy an electric Goldwing. Yes, I would love to ride for 6 hours without stopping. Hopefully, they will put a discreet restroom on it too, so we can pee on the move. 😊

Best moto video I've seen all year! With most new Gold Wings being DCT & a reputation of refined luxury, a solid state version makes sense. I would still rather have a manual flat 6, but more options are never a bad thing

Every year it’s ‘ the best gold wing ever’ … roughly translated into Honda have crammed more stuff onto it … the 2026 gold wing comes with air conditioning and ashtrays but youl have to wait for 2027 for the twin sleeper camper option

Saving battery weight in an EV has a compounding effect. The less it weighs, the less you need. With solid state lithium batteries, the power to weight ratio on bikes is gonna be insane.

You left out one major factor. The line and the availability of charging stations. The scarcity of charging stations will determine one’s route across the USA, thereby infringing on my freedom of movement. Also, cars can take an hour to charge. No thanks. I’ll keep my planet killer.
@BikesBeardsAndBrews10 күн бұрын
Chargers have been getting added day by day and the infrastructure is rapidly growing. I think they're alot less scarce than you think and solid states can charge in 10 min in cars

Will the current GW demographics be open to this? Will a younger demographic buy a GW? This tech belongs in a street fighter. Honda seems too conservative to make this happen.
@BikesBeardsAndBrews10 күн бұрын
You'll be surprised. Google the Honda 0 concepts. They are scheduled for release in 2026 and all the verbage used about the batteries in those cars is the same they use to describe the solid state batteries
@ericrusch825810 күн бұрын
@ you’d think Honda would start with getting the kids on board first in street bikes and short distance play toys. I suppose it takes old $ to make this happen. BTW this is the first time I have seen one of your videos and it was really well done.
