I spent a couple years on that corner when it was at Nedick's, slingin' hot dogs and orange drinks, half a century ago. A great experience, learned a lot, met a lot of people (and at least back then, that was considered the busiest corner in the entire US if not the world. Over the ensuing years I've gone back and spent a couple of hours just standing there and watching the world go by, so there's a special place in my heart and memory for it. And for street dogs, you won't get better than Sabrett.

Another great video! I was wondering why these guys are putting mustard on top of the sauerkraut and onions. I've been buying hot dogs from street carts since the 1970s (not so much in recent years) and the mustard was also put on first, followed by sauerkraut and then onions. Has that routine changed over the years?

Don't know why... but if you notice the very last hot dog I received the vendor did the mustard first. I think I have to start saying: Mustard, Sauerkraut, Onions. In that order.

Everything is getting crazy with pricing. The wife and I went to our local Legion tonight and a bowl of chili and a bun cost $10.00 ! Last year it was $5.00. Every one of these guys tried to put Ketchup on your dogs ! Wow good reviews, high scores !

One thing I have always thought about I moved from NY to Florida I plan on opening up a NY style cart in Fl now since I lived in NY for over 32 years where do hot dog vendors use the restroom ? The men you spoke to are not owner’s there usually newly arrived immigrants from Tunisia, Morocco and other parts of North Africa.
