@Dev_2705 I've recently been actively redefining my desktop, and Qt theming is horrible. It's basically just C++ code which needs to be locally compiled, and since most Qt stuff is KDE software, you're forced to install tons of dependencies on non-KDE desktops. I've seen a video by Niccolo, a KDE developer, recently, who actually admitted that even among KDE devs, only a handful of people really know how theming on KDE actually works.

My choice is Papirus. One set contains 25 folder colors, which can be changed by a script that reassigns symbolic links to target svg-files.

Qogir dark is my favorite, but the Brave browser icon has a yellow circle around the orange lion I don't care for, and the XLSX file icon is a little too busy. The Breeze Dark set that comes with KDE is very similar, but less flashy, and with fewer non-KDE app specific icons, so I've been using that. I'll try the Qogir dark set for a while, and see if I can get used to it, or if I miss the simplicity of the Breeze Dark set.

Papirus looks beautiful! Like a compromise between a very colorful and and a toned-down icon set. I believe my current setup is using ArcDark, but I'll have to try it out!

You can get papirus icon themes with the yaru folder theme. It looks really good

My personal favorite on all my Linux installations is the Sardi icon set by Erik Dubois. It comes in a ton of variants, and shell scripts allow for coloring the icons. Personally, I prefer the Sardi Flat Colora Icons with the Deep Sky colors patched in via the script. And what a coincidence! Recently, I'm all into redefining my desktop aesthetics. I'm likely to see far less icons in the future, as I ditched my graphical file manager, but for the rare occasions that I actually do see icons, this set will stay with me.

I had garuda for a while, i think it used beautyline by default but had candy installed by default also. Really cool icons.

The "Candy " Icons is one of the things that puts me off Garuda LOL (other than it's stability when I tried to change things). Its too garish for me. I've used the Win10X icons before and it does look very Windowsy. However if you shrink your filemanager views down (to the same size as windows explorer), the folder icons and colours disappear to plain white unfortunately. But it's probably the most complete of the windows icon style sets,

I'm usually using the dracula icons, with a custom edit replacing the accent color with the bright purple from draculas contribute page (really easy to do, since svgs are basically text files). I also really like adwaita and yaru, but they don't fit into my usual application style. On the rare occasion that I'm in a gnome desktop, they are quite beautiful.

Candy looks great, but I haven’t tried it long term. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with whatever is the icon set used by the latest Mint Cinnamon. I do miss the little diagonal color stripes on the folder icons of one of the previous versions (but apparently I’m an exception.)

Regarding Kora, it's outdated on plasma 6. For plasma 6 there's the futura icon theme which is an updated version of it.

Little pet peeve of mine: most of the pictures icon sets use to show their looks only present app icons, not folder icons, when folder icons are the icons you will see 70 per cent of the time.

I have not used any icons in years. Only nerd fonts for few images in status bar

@@XPimKossibleX I do not think they benefit me in any way. I do not use GUI file manager to begin with, but not even in it I do not use nerd font characters as icons. I sort my data in predictable ways so instead of finding icons I find the file name I want. Also I don't use GUI app launchers as I find it a lot easier to always enter the name of the app. Lastly, I use nerd font character in status bar because they use a lot less space and their position is constant

Yaru does something right that unfortunately seems to no longer be commonplace- 1px outlines on small colored icons. You have no idea how helpful this is for visibility on smaller resolutions.

I've always been using breeze icons. But I do like what I've just seen with Qogir. Gonna give that a try. Edit: nvm. Breeze is literally unbeatable Edit2: nvm. I'm now trying papirus. It's actually really good.

GR8 Video... 4 Me;... What is sexy is... Plain Vertical Tree Mode... Showing Sub Folders & working with Multiple Tabs... The only fault if it is;... complaint;... gripe I have with the default file manager that comes with Ubuntu 22.04 is that when U have several Tabs Open;... at the top of each Tab it only shows the default "Home" Folder Name;... when U move to another Tab;... click on a sub folder with >;... to open a sub folder within the Tree View;... it still says "Home" at the top & NOT the current Sub Folder Name;... Um;... with several Tabs along the top;... remembering which one is which... I like in particular to have with file name & file type .txt etc... That way;... I being an ID.10.T. new Linux Ubuntu user;... dunn'a open any .exe files by mistake or .bat Now one other annoyance;... is that at the end where it says "Type" there is a "Star" which I dunn'a use & it takes up valuable viewing space & there is not;... or I can't find away to get rid of that pesky "Star" ROFL... I'm probably in the wrong place to have these question answered... Just point me in the right direction pretty please... Although I have used;... opened up the Terminal Command Line... The word alone TERMINAL alone scares me a lot... I've only followed instructions from hopefully trusted Linux Users who share their knowledge;... that give clear Copy & Paste run commands instructions... That was when I was trying too increase my Swap Memory;... which I did manage without terminating my PC... Know 2 U Gura's as making your PC like a BRICK... ROFL

All of those icon sets are too flat and bland to me anyway. To be fair I have found 2 flat icon sets over the years that actually have depth and creativity. If you want to see creative icon sets before the flat icon craze happened, got to wincustomize and under the explore option, select icons. Then start at the very back and move forward. There were a lot of very cool 3D icon sets that also looked really cool. I just feel like the flat icon sets are mostly a large step back. It would be nice to see a mix of icon set selections for people who like really creative icon sets and for those who like flat icon sets too.
