Too much choice and too many 'categories' of skates can be overwhelming when you just want to buy an inline skate for general skating (recreational and leisure skating both outdoors or indoors).
Here's the most popular rollerblade for people who want to get skating but are overwhelmed by the unnecessary amount of choice. You're welcome.
Locoskates has the largest (most unnecessary?) range of skates in the UK.
With: Jake Eley
Graphics: Duncan Barton
Info about brakes:
The FRX 80, FR3 80 and FR2 80 fits the following brake (bought separately):

100% agree with comments about FR FRX. Bought a pair of FRX80 during COVID and a year later FRX310. They are so comfortable and responsive. I've skated over 1000kms in both pairs and the liner shows no sign of wearing out. It has packed down ever so slightly. You need to go up at least one full size in the FRX. My foot measures 280mm and 295 is a nice fit. Suggest replacing the stock laces with waxed ones and consider the model up with ratchet ankle buckle over the velcro strap. I bent the D ring on the velcro strap trying for a tight fit.

Quick question… I have them too but I’m conflicted about sizing. Without liner I can fit 3 fingers behind heel but a 9 was soo tight it was rubbing my ankle bone. The 10 feels like I’m trying to skate with bricks on my feet though. Tried to see if there was a quick fix without selling or returning but I haven’t come up with one. I wear a 10 in women’s and 9 in men’s but foot measures 27.5 flat. You said to size up so long term how has the skate worked for you? Thanks

The FRX was my first skate and I loved it! I have more skates now but I still use the rockered frame and the velcro strap on my FR1s. You can't go wrong with them. I still skate them too because they're still the most comfy skate I own. Also the FR laces are the best.

One thing to consider with a riveted frame skate like the PS Zoom: I know someone who got a pair that had a misaligned frame, so each skate's frame was positioned at a different angle. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect, but if you don't want to mess around with returns in the case of that happening, go for something with an adjustable frame. Also, I think they may have ordered from Amazon or something, so this isn't meant to reflect on Loco or any other skate shop - just something to consider!

@@FeralSnarf It's perfect. They are so smooth and comfortable. I've already recommended them to a few people. I do feel like getting the tongue situated properly and balancing the tightness evening along my foot requires an annoying amount of effort. I’m somewhat of an intermediate rollerblader. My first skates were Twister Edge XT and honestly they were a terrible fit for my feet. I think it’s the shape and not the size, I had to stop after 30+ minutes of rollerblading because of either pain or numbness in my entire feet. After 2 years I decided to sell the twister and I bought the FRX80 minty. The FRX80 actually fit my feet shape better.

I agree Seba/FR SKATES are the best in my opinion they can do it all I own a Seba FR 2016 Deluxe it came has standard with 243 mm frame and 80 mm wheels, the skates in this video is the same boot shell, I’ve just upgraded the frame and wheels for a 3 wheel skates and I never looked back, the most comfortable skates I’ve owned, the main difference from the skates on the video and mine deluxe’s it’s the Velcro strap the deluxes comes with two buckles instead of one. And for that buckle you will pay more around £120 crazy

Dude, you have summarized some thing I have ranted about for 10 years: the sport raged when you went in and bought blades that had a break and could optionally rocker and had four reasonably sized reasonably soft wheels. The only choice we made in the early days was will I have to tile laces or do they have three buckles? The entire sport has died because the skate that everybody should buy now has incredibly unsexy names like fitness and recreation. that is the barrier that has prevented a true resurgence where city parks routinely have groups of people skating through cones and pick up hockey games are all over the city
@joeMsessions
@joeMsessions 11 ай бұрын
Make a video: go to a skate park with a skateboard and get the video reactions of kids if you offer them a “fitness skateboard” or a “recreation skateboard“ That would be how to kill skateboarding: make every beginner think they are supposed to buy one of those two kinds of skateboards

Everything we sell is rated for the same weight, so no not really. (This probably doesn't apply to cheaper items sold in sports shops or catalogue shops)

@LocoSkates

So, almost all adult skates state a limit of 100kg (220lbs). That figure is not actually based on any load testing, the manufacturers are using it as a caveat to cover themselves from liability. I can't advise you to buy the skates, but what I can tell you is that they are as supportive, durable and capable as any other skate model out there.

Will frx or fr1 80 support 120kg person?
@LocoSkates
@LocoSkates 9 ай бұрын
Both will be fine, although this would be a situation that it might have some advantage to pick the FR1 over the FRX because they have extruded aluminium frames (it's not that the 'cast' frames on the FRX would break, you will just get a better ride out of an extruded alu frame which flexes less). Additionally you will have to replace worn out wheels more often than a lighter skater but other than that there shouldn't be any issues at all. 🙂

K2 haven't been all that active here in the UK. It's mostly to do with the shift towards hardboots (instead of softboots). We did do a vid about their new hardboot skate which is about to come out though. Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXeVeGqDqseUmpY

I bought my FR skates from a shop in Singapore and the salesman told me that FR is made in France, not like Seba that is made in China but founded by Sebastien, yes, that same Sebastien who founded FR. Anyway, if you know the story about Seba and FR, you know. I bought the last FR skate for my size and the rest have to be ordered from the FR factory in France.
