Slight spoiler ahead Rose is gonna be part of a second seven shades that alpha is planning on creating. They'll be the second group in command of shadow garden after the first seven shades. Rose is a descendant of the human hero from what I remember and cid unlocks her true potential. Her and another girl called Victoria are the first two candidates for the second seven shades.

This gets even worse for her when she realizes shadow defeated the dragon that destroyed the previous capital of Midgar when cid was still a kid 😂. He defeated it with an incomplete version of the "I am atomic" attack. Now that dragon and all the monsters under it serve cid which is why all the monsters on that mountain where the old capital is located (now the base of shadow garden) don't attack the shadow garden members. That mist on that mountain is a poisonous mist that that dragon release but it has no effect on the shadow garden member because the dragon can choose who it can poison. That dragon is also so powerful that it nearly killed all the members of the seven shades until cid showed up to stop it. Even cid couldn't kill it. He was only able to beat him but couldn't kill the mist dragon even when he tried although that was cid when he was still like 12 or something so he could probably kill it now. Cid is 16 now.

Go read the manga and you will realize they did this anime adaptation very poorly. The delivery, the lines, the cutting of key elements as well as the having stuff all over the place when they didnt need too. It's like they spent all their budget on animation then modified the story to try and fit the voice actors they could get for it.

So, when Cid said he was going to show them the witch's power and then went on the water, he was talking about Aurora's attacks where she used blood magic. He was using water and that's why he said "water is weak when channeling magic through it." Still it was cool that he could ride the water, like when he rode on Aurora's blood magic during their duel lol. I loved seeing Iris be super pissed off because she took pride in being the protector of the kingdom, only to kinda be put on the backburner by everyone after her tournament and now Cid doesn't take her seriously at all and her logic was "he has to be using an artifact" lol. Now she's pissed because she knows there's no way he was and he still easily beats her. Also, Rose's story looks like it's going to be super interesting, gotta feel bad for her though, she's giving up everything and has lost everything AND on top of that, gets labeled 666 lol. I heard Sherry wasn't in the LN during this arc so I guess it's cool we get to see her going crazy. Oh yeah, biggest thing I have to say is fuckin' mad PROPS to this studio for putting out 20 episodes during a season where SOO many good shows are getting put on hold.

Got to love Cid bc be just does not care. Everyone else is fighting for their lives yet shadow feels no threat. That's why he is stronger than anyone, his training methods are insane, effective, and brutal. He shows no fear for his life, so he goes for crazy plays. No one truly knows Cid bc he is always playing a role, "shadow" the op leader of shadow garden or "Cid" the normal student.

IMO Iris wasn't referencing the current fight with Shadow, but rather the confusion and destruction Shadow Garden's war against The Cult of Diabolos is doing. Exploded the underground ruins, creating a great hole in the middle of the capital, then took over a school and killed its Vice Principal and some of her Crimson Knights.

There's a "major announcement" for Eminence in the Shadow on the 22nd, everyone seems to think its gonna be an announcement for Season 2 and rumors are that its gonna be this year. We'll see how it goes in the end, but Eminence will definitely get a season 2 eventually, they set up a lot of stuff for later on in the story, and you don't hire Dio for a character that won't show up until much later unless you're in it for the long run.

Do you know Rosalie from Cautious Hero? that exactly Iris in this episode. She maybe Lawful Good and wants to protect her Kingdom but her means are idiotic at best. Did she seriously believe that defeating the leader will solve everything especially it was already hinted to them that there are atleast 2 factions exist in the shadow and they don't know who the real enemy is? If by some MIRACLE she defeated him this time, does she know how big of an organization the Shadow Garden is that she thinks they will be fine when they retaliate, and after the fact that she knows one of their members is already beyond her league. That laugh of Cid followed by the shout was my same reaction after hearing Iris declares that Shadow has nowhere to run. Seriously, after getting stomped with the War Goddess literally and metaphorically, she still thinks that he needs to run away from them was hilarious, and kinda touch the reverse scale for Cid. That probably wasn't the reaction he wanted to hear that is why there was a tone of anger when he said "Run? Who's running? Running where? and WHY?!!!"

And it's not like it's not justified she is doing it for her people not for her self. 1. It wasnt adressed in novels or manga. Iris did tried to stop Shadow. But it wasnt something personal or anything like that. Iris had confused feelings, as she understood Shadow wasnt doing evil. But he wasnt obeying kingdom. It was her duty to stop him, not her wish. In anime Iris really hates Shadow and it's personal 2. It's more of a "he is a villian roaming around her kingdom". - Iris was put to place when Alpha killed that monster in front of her. - Iris was helpless when terrorist took school and only Shadow Garden saved school. - Her father refused to deal with problem of a Cult. - She lost tournament and then to Shadow. She realised, that despite being most powerful swordsman in her kingdom - she is helpless and useless. She cant do anything. She is bound to orders of those who above her. And Shadow is not, he is doing what he wants and feels is needed. And noone can control him. So it's a mix of anger, envy and helplesness. That Iris points at Shadow

@@batorian03 it's titled the grandfather of isekai because it sticks to what an isekai is and brings out the true meaning and hardships of "adventure" without having an insanely OP main character. Theres a ton of world building not many other isekais do well which makes Mushoku so special.

Speaking of the final battle, I love it when the camera up close to Cid vs Beatrice they show their sword exchange as in normal speed but when the camera is from afar or from Iris perspective we see only the sparkles left. That's show the studio know what their doing of how normal people like Iris can't keep up with their speeds.

Remember cid not only mastered every fighting style from this world, he also mastered every fighting style from his previous world. He is also a science genius although he didn't master every science in his previous world he still knows alot about scientific stuff which is why his knowledge is far superior than this world knowledge since his previous world were more advanced technologically and scientifically. He also mastered every meditation style etc from his previous world and combined it with magic technique from this world to better control his magic. This wasn't really explained but that's why cid and the other shadow garden members have different color mana from everyone else. It's because of the advanced magic techniques he created that causes there magic to be a different color. The normal mana color of people are red but in shadow garden the strong members have blue mana whereas cids mana is purple and has things that look like circuits moving through it.

also in the light novel cid reveals that he is constantly training by manipulating magic particles in his body also how he has trained his body to only need around three hours of sleep. the novels also explain how cid all on his own comes up with the slim suit and it was hinted that all the meditation and religious stuff cid did in his previous life to attain magic is the reason why he is able to sense magic from birth

he explained pretty early on that the sword styles in this world are really crude and inneficient he just has the perceptive ability to read their attacks and he knows how to defend himself no matter what its so cool to me

12:00 he actually want to nuke the entire kingdom, but the child cid inside his mind said "yamero(stop)" (without voice, only lipss gesture), so he change his mind and say he was just joking and aim his nuke into the sky, that's the reason why the entire sky around the kingdom change from heavy rainy to bright sunshine.

Basically the entire battle of this episode in anime is original scene.

There's been a rumor about a second season, I don't really put faith into rumors unless it's official though. I'd say it's safe to say though that this will get a second season, there's no reason for it not to. They also have the special announcement next week. If there's anything right now that points the most to a second season is that the actual japan aired version of this episode had an image pointing to it that we didn't get to see on the hidive stream. If you recall how the opening of each arc changed the final image to fit the setting of the arc, well the japanese version of this episode had one of those images that was 100% the setting for the next arc. There seems to be little reason for them to include that unless another season was in the works.

No one will be able to figure out that Shadow is Cid. The anime does not mention it but in the manga it is said that Shadow's hood "creates an illusion" and everyone who looks at Shadow's face even from close range just sees only dark.

Why do you think Iris is so mad? Maybe cause at first Arc, Shadow Garden started fight against Cult in City and that resulted in death of many kingdom knights? Or maybe how Cid Nuked the City after that? Maybe it was because when he started fight in School, killing Vice Principal and burning entire School and not giving a damm information as to why he did that? 14:28 the mist dragon story was covered in the game. I don't know if they'll cover it in the next season though, might just take up time for no reason. A big part of why Iris reacted the way she did is that she has spent a significant part of her life with her reputation, if not her personal strength, as one of the pillars of stability for her nation. Everyone tells her that everything relies on her, all the time. And then Shadow showed up and fought an entire tournament in disguise for no apparent reason other than to humiliate her. And by the end, he genuinely taught her that she's completely powerless. That isn't good for a person.

@@TheAndymacm Iris did pretty much nothing to the city, watch more closely. It was mostly Cid and Beatrix sending shockwaves with each blow they exchanged. At most, Iris damaged the scaffolded building ( and that's mostly Cid acting like he was being thrown into it ) and a little bit the clocktower with her last two attacks. So she's kinda right, adding to the fact I'm pretty sure she isn't only speaking about this fight but everything else that happened in Midgard's capital before.

To answer your question "if Claire were to met Shadow, would she recognize him as her brother?" the answer appears to be most likely a yes. After the 7 Shades, Claire had the most sparring matches with Cid and knows his style too well. Even if Cid only used the 'mobbiest mob Swordmanship" against her, she started to catch on since her childhood meaning she has 15+ years of observation. No disrespect to Alexia and Rose, but they have got nothing on being able to recognize an "average yet captivating Sword", so if they can easily see his style then Claire would do it even faster and efficient than them. As a result, Shadow or Stylish Bandit Slayer hasn't appeared before Claire even once since their childhood. Cid doesn't seem to want to make the dare and he already generally avoids her as an overall tactic.

She literally destroyed the city just because of her hatred towards shadow. She's oblivious to what's really happening because she's obscured by her rage. Not working in her favor. Loved the show. 👍

@@TheAndymacm In a sense, yes. Yet the only thing Shadow did was save the princess and stop Asshat from chasing her. Nothing else. Then Beatrix started the fight and Iris joined. Beatrix and Shadow's fight is localized, yet everything Iris does is a long range attack, so everything past Shadow gets obliterated. Regardless, they are fighting not really knowing why. it's the conundrum of squeezing the trigger first and ask questions later trope. And they did it beautifully in the show. Can't wait for season 2 as it's been already announced, albeit without a date.

@@JoseSanles Sure, Beatrix and Shadow's fight is "localized" (Not the correct word at all), as in they were only using close range attacks, but don't forget they were the ones flying around the city destroying basically everything they were near. 5:53 & 8:54 in this video. (5:55 & 9:15 in the actually show) Compare that to iris being responsible for only destroying 1.5 buildings. The .5 is because the building that Iris launched shadow into he intentionally allowed that to happen just so he can get some crowbars and style on them. If he didn't care about getting some crowbars that building wouldn't have been destroyed. It's really only the tower that she damaged. Also if you look at every time Iris uses her flame attack she is either clear above the civilians or she is aiming up away from the civilians. It's really only the last flame attack she used on the tower that was aimed down but it's never shown if her attack has the range to hit anything underneath them.

You can see rose in her Number 666 outfit in episode one. She can be seen with 664 and 665. I also love how Shadow pulled a Saitama by clearing all storm clouds away with in a single instant. like when Saitama one punched the king of the sea season 1.

Best thing is that we needed an isekai with an overpowered MC who can be evil and good when needed. Not just generic ohh i am afraid to kill ill turn evil and that stuff. Cid just doesnt care. Bloodlust during the tournament and killing in the school in early episodes, and just in general he doesn't care. Really cool. We need more of this kind Isekai.

Shadow threw the nuclear upwards, as you noticed on the flashbacks the young cid said "yamero" and not atomic, it is because its not the shadow way of overdoing things and bombing the whole kingdom will put him on the spotlight so he fired it upwards which cleared up the dark sky and turned it to a sunny day, I just copied this on someone's comment

Joe, if you are interested of learning more about the Mist Dragon, I recommend playing the Eminence in Shadow mobile game. It gives more content that was not in the light novel or manga. There is a side story of them establishing their base, the battle with the mist dragon, the 2 year gap of what happen to Alpha and the others when they left Cid, etc.

Iris's father is 3rd Party Sus. In the last episode (I think it was), P.A. was considering making Rose's father kill Iris's father and start a war between Oriana and Midgar. In this episode, King Midgar instructed them to treat King Oriana's body with respect so they don't spark a war. If he's in the Cult, the Cult is divided. I find that unlikely given the nature of some of it's leading members.
