Colossus here. Had a blast with a storm and interceptor earlier. I was using Tesla ( lightning) coil and flamethrower. Combined that with whatever storm was throwing* down and interceptor ripping around. We chewed through enemies like a hot knife through butter.

If you are stuck on the loading screen then close it, restart the game and it gives you an option to rejoin that lobby and then it should work right away. worked for me and all my friends

I'm annoyed by how much it looks like the Storm is going to outperform every other Javelin. I looks like it can do everything better than any of the others. There will be nothing but Storms hovering around the game and it'll feel suboptimal playing any other class. Ranger can fire missiles? Storm can launch nukes. Colossus can have a shield? Storms can conjure a huge wall of wind. Interceptors can chain ice debuffs? Storms have ice knives on a 0 second cooldown. "But Storms are squishy!" They can fly while fighting, have an overshield, and can launch abilities from a distance. Doesn't sound like they're gonna struggle.

Me and my buddies experiences with all 4 different Javelins so far. Colossus: Strong AoE, durable fighter but once you get low it‘s REALLY hard to do anything because HP crystals don‘t heal for much and you got no shields... Will probably become borderline broken when Healers get introduced to the game or specific builds compensate for this weakness Interceptor: -REALLY fun -strong burst -got a Ninja feel to it. -smoothest animations -best maneuverability (3 jumps also allowing for more dashes) -negative: hardly any advantage over the Colossus (representing the heaviest class) in the air. Same flight speed, hardly any differences when it comes to how quickly your suit overheats Storm: Best in air character for sure, also fun to play but many seem to rank the Interceptor‘s fun factor a little higher. Very good Javelin for singleplayer as the Storm‘s abilities are element-heavy and he can combo enemies on his own. Fastest ability cycle. Ranger: Ult = nuts, good allround package, very efficient Javelin but also not as fun as other Javelins to play (at least from our pov)

Storm is way too squishy. Definitely an Interceptor and a Colossus guy. I was a bit worried Colossus wouldn't tank as well as I'd hoped at first, but once I learned the ropes, it can. Interceptor is just too damn fun to play. Also Squishy, yes, but so agile you don't even get hit when done right.

That is what I love about all of them is the combo play. I play the Interceptor and my 2 other friends plays Storm and other plays Colossus/Ranger. What I love is Storm pops ice Primer on an enemy within a group then I rush in and melee with my Interceptor that Detonates and its Detonates Auras the freeze to all nearby enemies.

Played all four. As someone who has played a hell of a lot of Mass Effect over the years (including Andromeda, from which it seems most of the combat system is taken), I get why Storm is a favorite for many. Big damage, particularly with combos, while being able to take quite a bit of damage with the shield boost in mid-air. Having said that, the choice for me is Interceptor. Can get into action and back out again so much faster than any other class, giving it deadly capabilities. For someone with the movement already in muscle memory from MEA, it felt right at home.

I'm all over the Intercepter. I love the insane agility and mobility. Getting in close, destroying turrets and higher enemies. It's true weakness is enemies in the air. 98% of the time I don't use a single weapon, just melee and other abilities. The support aspect of it is really good too. I have something that targets one enemy and causes my entire team to do 33% more damage. I'm sure that percent is higher for gear above 19. Yes it's squishy but my lvl 19 blade inscriptions that boost my melee by 20% each (total of 40% since I use 2) also boosts my shield and armor by 140 each, if I remember right. Plus a consumable that takes my melee damage to 50% above base. I have 2 builds that I play with, one for close range and combos. The other for distance, slower recharges but higher damage, and more shield. My second is Ranger. Storm is great and comes in a close 2nd. I really hope they do something with Colossus. My Intercepter feels like it can take more damage and dish out far more damage per unit of time. Leave it clunky, it's a tank and that's how it should play. It simply needs much more base resistance to damage. I think they need to provide it with a way to tank damage for the whole team for a brief period. Yes there's a strike mod (might be a different slot) where you can equip something that tags and forced enemies to attack you only... but it can barely take the damage before failing. Maybe allow the shield to become much larger for a short time. Large enough for the team to hide behind it and maybe regenerate 30% of their health.

This is very true, I played a few hours of the demo yesterday and of course starting with the ranger I was like "ohhh I can't wait to unlock someone new"..I chose the Storm based on looks and liking Mage/Necromancer/Casting type characters and thinking how with my ranger all I wanted to do was stay back and cast against those enemies..well playing the next mission with my storm was pretty cool and I barely took damage, but by the third mission and the Stronghold..I was so weak that I could barely manage to get a hit off without dying...the Storm hovering has it's positives and negatives...the negative being that if the enemy DOES spot you you're out in the open and it's very VERY easy for you to get decimated in a few shots..had me wishing I chose the Colossus...

So far I have played ranger, colossus and storm (because I was in the alpha) and I love each of them for certain things. Storm is great for chaining CC. Colossus is great for making things go boom and getting rid of trash mobs. Ranger is also great at getting rid of trash mobs but it's also great at single target damage (if another class primes it first). I agree with you completely and have seen how an unbalanced team can struggle. Without a main damage dealer, storm can really suffer. Alternatively, if there isn't a storm there to prime enemies then other classes have a hard time doing big damage. This game is all about balance. Keep up the great content!

So far my favorite play style is to run around bashing into things with the colossus shield up. You can literally just plow through hordes of mobs and everyone else easily cleans up after you because everything just got staggered. And the shield melee is almost beastly. I've taken down tanky scars with a few shield melee attacks while everyone else is struggling to even get the shield down. But then when there's a ton of scorpions on the ground, our storm just annihilated them without having to worry about getting hit.

Hey Mtashed did you try Ice Storm ? If you don't use the charge up fully you can use it infinitely. Pair it with Fire orb and you can combo like mad. This combo is great for solo play and you don't need to rely on team mate to detonate as Fire Orb does that.

I don’t agree with this video. People say the same thing in destiny and you can clear anything with 6 of the same classes. I think it’s literally down to skill that’ll separate those who need to change vs those that can run their mains in any situation. The javelins were created to be able to solo content. At most you may need to change your playstyle but not a whole javelin. Let’s save videos like these when people have had time to min max loaudouts and really have had a chance to master their javelins.

duo1666 melting point isn’t needed because hunter has the debuff stab. And you don’t really need warlock because the titan and hunter both have buffs and debuffs. And it’s honestly down to player skill at how well you clear any raid. The point I’m trying to make is destiny does the role playing bad. The classes are too similar and don’t really compliment each other like traditional RPGs. I honestly think the pvp has a hand in that. It’s a shame that destiny doesn’t put emphasis on separating the classes because I feel it would encourage actual team play and less of a Lone Ranger/meta environment. They kinda had this at the start of destiny 1 but the player base complained and now every class is almost on the same level.

Somewhat quick definitions of each suit Colossus : He’s a line and aggro holder who’s great at clearing large amounts of fodder. Like the spider rushes in the Swarm Tyrant stronghold from the VIP Demo Storm : The Glass Cannon. He will be one of your main combo builders/damage dealers as his abilities have access to the majority of the elements and have a quick recharge. But he is very weak health wise. Ranger : The in between that is generally good at most jobs. A full team of rangers might be able to work due to how adaptable to multiple roles they are. Intercepter : Again a main damage dealer but due to his melees he is good as a hit and run (Super the boss and get out). Due to his close range he can generally be considered to have less health than the ranger but more than storm. Edit : I totally didn’t write these in the order I like them don’t @ me

We ran 1 interceptor (me), 1 colossus, and 2 storms..hardmode was easyyyyyy lol we cleared it in about 17 minutes

Alldayanyday1 On The PS4 me and my friends did 2 interceptors, 1 colossus, and a storm. Melted the boss in five minutes after 3 of us died from a tiny glitch. She went to hide 3 times and the second time she had half health. Tl;dr if your team if rocking the right gear and timing abilities, hard difficulty is easy

i will approach this game just like all others before..destiny,the division,warframe..etc..etc..just like you said i will not only try all of the javelin's,,but will master them..i think that is a very beneficial thing to do in all games like this..because they are situational and the enemies all have varied weaknesses and armor..etc..and even though encounters will become repetitive i am sure they are always going to be very situational.depending on a multitude of variables and so it is quite obvious that being able to be proficient at all of the various javelin's is going to be hugely beneficial in this game..good video bro..hope the sub helps you on your way...shout out from kenai,alaska

The Nooby Ninja it was more about the combos than the ult itself. His last blast combo’d with his team, then his lightning strike combo’d with himself and spread the frozen effect to the area not covered by the blast, then he used his melee to maintain the status effect until his lightning strike came back to take care of the other remaining enemies. It’s the most important part of playing Storm-keeping those status effects in play.

I always like the wizard roles, so I will definitely be primarily a Storm but every class looks to be fun to play. I really like how the interceptor fights and you can never go wrong with a scout class like the ranger. I just don't play a lot of tank classes so the Colossus will probably be my least used. I like to fight with speed and precision and a long handed melee! But you never know and I could fall in love with it. I just can't wait until the 15th so I can start playing the real game on EA Access!

Great vid. Also don't believe a person should focus on one javelin exclusively. Team composition is going to be key in the end game. One night your team may need you to use your "go too"Storm build- but a few hours later may need someone to switch to A Colossus.

Basically, you need to choose the Javelin class that best suits your personality and play style because those two things are practically one and the same for the majority of gamers. Not only that, but you need to choose the appropriate Javelin that will best accommodate you as well as your squad. You’re not helping anybody by fighting for yourself in a group full of Storm’s or Colossus THICC BOIS! I think that BioWare allowing players access to all of the Javelins will improve longevity and player satisfaction in Anthem, but when it comes to your all around main, they have to be an all around solid and flexible class that you can work diversely with.

So my clan in Destiny has played and so far only two main complaints 1) when your in the tower their version of it it puts you in first person mode instead of third 2) revive system seems to be bad and needs major work Anybody else notice this?

My god, the Interceptor felt SO powerful in the demo. Obviously I can't speak for endgame, but played correctly in the right situation will put everyone else to shame. Just the same, Storm will sometimes make me want to go into a hole and cry. They've done a great job balancing all of the javs.

I loved all the javelins honestly (maybe less so the colossus but that's just because I dont really enjoy front line types) Every javelin had strengths and weaknesses. Personally I'm not unlocking strom until the 3rd javelin because I know WAYYYY to many people are going to be using it at first. First I think I'm going to do interceptor (a bit unpopular but was super fun to play) it was extremely agile and good for taking out groups but also sort of sucked agaisnt the bosses. Then ranger to have a sort of 'filler' suit that can sort of cover any need in the group. Then storm and then colossus. What's going to be your unlock order?

I’m absolutely loving storm but my only complaint is that he has no cape in the matchmaking screen. I get the cape can’t be there when your getting into the javelin at the fort because it block you from getting in, but I feel it’s strange that the storm just suddenly had the cape when you load in. I’d love it if In the matchmaking screen he’d throw it into his shoulders like doctor strange before he starts levitating out of the docking bay.

Thanks for this video. I severely yearn for a game where you can play what's most fun for you in a group setting without sacrificing your viability (or perceived viability from a short-sighted group leader), and I truly hope that Anthem is it. One of the main reasons I'm sick of playing WoW is the constantly moving goal posts of what you "need to play" in order to complete something to your group's satisfaction. It's toxic, and I'd like to be done with that forever.

i would disagree. Storm is the greatest for damage and the best all around. I couldnt think of one situation where it would be shit for him. Colossus needs a definite buff.

Cryoskeptical interceptor dwarfs storm in dmg. Interceptor has 2 debuffs and the longest super...Nothing compares in dmg when you pop target beacon, venom spray, and ult.

@@3hris233 the thing is you have to be close and just because it has the longest super doesnt mean its the most damaging super. The storm is easily the highest damaging one plus even if you are right i also said " all around"

Cryoskeptical you’re right you do have to be close and the interceptor is built for being close. Not to mention it’s invulnerable when in super. And super length does in fact mean something. While you’re is three bursts of elemental damage and you’re done, interceptors is easily 15 seconds of raw dps. Like I said stack that on top of 2 debuffs and nothing compares. Just because the interceptor needs to be close doesn’t mean anything.

Not to mention the super leaves after images that do continuous dmg after every other attack. I’ve done the stronghold with one other person and solo’d that hoard encounter by myself as interceptor. It’s super is one of the best for clearing enemies and single target dmg

@@3hris233 And there are tons of people who solod activities with storm. Storms ult is a primer and detonator and has multiple explosions sure interceptor can get in a deal damage but the fact of the matter is its just not as good as sitting in the back and dealing tons of damage. Sure you can put a debuff on it to make it deal more damage but that's nothing compared to storm, who has its own. Length doesn't matter because if i can deal as much damage as you in less amounts of time then that means one is superior. Getting up close matters you are only invincible during the ult not before or after you get in you might die before you get to use it or you might die right when you're done.

There's not supposed to be a "better" javelin. You're supposed to play a party where each build covers each other's strengths and weaknesses. Eg: use a Colossus to tank damage and draw agro, a storm to play support and freeze enemies, another storm to use lightning to deal tons of damage and an interceptor to deal melee damage and get to and revive down team mates quickly. That's how squad games like this work.

Feel like Interceptor needs either more health or shield, considering that he in right in the middle of everything, using his melee as his primary and his abilities either need to be changed, perhaps even his fighting style. Imagine an interceptor who plays like batman from the games who can take on multiple enemies while on the ground as opposed to one at a time. Meanwhile you could have Storm freezing some enemies, setting up those combos.
