I swear by American Eagle jeans. Theres just something about the fit and my body shape that works so well! I like the artist flare or the boyfriend jeans for a slouchier look (not totally office appropriate but on the weekends, LOVE!). Theres also lots of deals that go on where you can get 2 for 1 and all that jazz too!

I think Guess were the best personally, from a male perspective. And wearing a good pare of tight jeans is always about impressing the males, right?:) To be honest, i might have spanked the monkey to the sight of a girl's cute butt in Guess jeans in high school many a times back in the 80s. I was a teacher so hopefully that's not considered wrong in todays day and age:) all of these look REALLY great on you, though...very flattering...awesome video!

Old Navy have been my favorite since forever. The black ones do fade after awhile depending on how often you use them. I used mine so much they faded but since they are so affordable I always get a fresh new pair.

Ever since I tried on my first pair of AG legging ankle jeans I have been obsessed! Maybe the old navy ones deserve another chance, I can remember not liking them before I think. I sort of feel like anything would look good on Elle though! I might give some of the other brands a try!

Thank you for this helpful and informative video. Appreciated your sharing that it can take you about 20 "tries" before finding the one great fitting jean. Am also petite and pear shaped, and finding pants can get really hard and frustrating, despite being at a good weight these days. Thank you for your leads on jeans, as I have been avoiding buying them, feeling overwhelmed on the number of options, and my frustration, when the jeans look awful. Would be greatful to you, if you would consider creating a video devoted to alterations and how you have selected a tailor, and your criteria for deciding to invest in an alteration(s). Thanks Elle. I have the Old Navy Rockstar mid rise in black and they are one of my my favorite pair of jeans! I've had them almost 2 years and they're starting to fade now, but they have them on sale for $15 here in the states sometimes! Totally worth it to repurchase for a new black pair. And I'll keep the old ones as a "dark grey"! 😊 Loved this video! Thanks.

I've been a fan of the rockstars for years now. I have those black ones, but I like those gray ones so I may have to get them. I feel the same frustration with white jeans and don't understand why companies don't do a better job with them. I think I tried on at least 30 pairs last spring and only one or two weren't sheer or didn't cling awkwardly to the knee area. Kut from the Kloth ended up working out for me.

Thank you for posting this video! I am always on the look out for the perfect pair of jeans. As I' m only 5'2 it's difficult to find jeans that fit well and are the right length. I feel the same way about white jeans. The ones on the market are often sheer and unflattering on the body. Your recommendations are always helpful. I bought my first AG Prima jeans after seeing one of your videos. They are super soft and comfortable and till date my favourite pair of jeans.

I don't know if you have a Belk's but they have jeans exactly as you describe the Old Navy ones for sale 27.50. They are my favorite and they do wash well. I do not put mine in the dryer, never have. But I have a ton of jeans in my closet from 20 years ago. I just need to get rid of them. Don't know why I can't. LOL

It was meaningful for me to hear what you said about needing to try on 20 pairs to find one great pair. I am a pear, but an exaggerated pear, and I have the gaping and issues with thigh fit. To hear you say you struggle with it too makes me understand it is a universal problem. I guess I just have to be more patient and not think that it is just me with the issue. I might have to take a look at that brand of white jean; I would love to wear them, but I don't like how sheer most of them are!

Yep....$35 - $70 dollars and most department stores have great sales and discounts. I buy them on sale under $35 all the time. Not sure what you think is expensive, but that is a great price.

I love Citizens of Humanity jeans, the rocket sculpt ones fit me like no other jeans I've ever tried on, but I would never buy distressed jeans that are expensive, it just does not seem worth it to me. I like american eagle for distressed jeans (but oddly enough I am not a fan of how their non-distressed jeans look on me)

Excellent choices! Have you tried Joe's jeans? I love the curvy skinny and I think you would, too. They are really stretchy and comfortable but are made for someone with larger hips/butts and a smaller waist. If you haven't tried them I highly suggest you do!

Hi Elle, based on your beef with white jeans (which I also share) I think that you would LOVE the Paige Skyline ankle peg in Optic White . They are SUCH great quality i.e. not see through, substantial fabric and just a wonderful cut. I never would say that white jeans were my favourite just because of all the issues I listed above, but I can't wait to wear these. I swear I will never buy another pair of white jeans again.
