My Step Mom me and my Son are Binge watching from the start. She used to be a Big Time Hiker and a Climber back in the day. She also rode Harleys all over, All 110 Lbs of her. Thats why my Dad Married her. She is one of a kind at 85 but she has bad arthritis and barely gets around now. Dad retired as VP of Houston Lighting & Power Company. She went to Jail decades ago for riding a Harley in Downtown Houston in a Mini Bikini on a 20 dollar bet, it all got dropped. She is a good Christian but a little wild when she was younger.

Kelly, so glad to hear you are willing to go off trail and seek new adventures....please consider doing the cirque of the tower in the winds, you might already be close to the winds or there already. Its next level beauty. I know i keep talking about it but the 100 mile high route in the winds is next level stuff and unfortunately better than the CDT trail going through the wind river range. And those people were awesome and so kind just love it.

So neat you could take detour to Alpaca farm! They are smaller and different than the llamas the forest serice rented for our use as remote area wilderness rangers in the 80's (we did 10 days on and 4 off-vs 4 tens-3 off). Smaller and softer with a better disposition. I'm enjoying following your hike. Keep on keeping on

The alpaca place might not be on the CDT it is on the THE GREAT DIVIDE MOUNTAIN BIKE ROUTE (GDMBR) tho. I've seen several bike packers vlogging coming by before doing the GDMBR. Take care Kelly.

Because it's an ursack. They are suppose to be strong enough that a bear shouldn't be able to tear through it and the rope is suppose to be thick enough that they can't rip it off the tree.

@@johndonahue4777 Just to be clear, that's how you're suppose to hang an ursack. You can look it up. It's a completely different strategy to food storage than a dry bag bear hang. While a dry bag bear hang tries to physically keep the bear away from the bag. It fails if there aren't trees with ideal branches to do a good hang. An ursack is just meant to be tied to something immovable and keeps the bear away from the food through bag toughness.
