Lone Wolf - I'm the "houseless" 72 y/o Vietnam vet and I received my Kodiak 10x14 with cover top set up at a private campground with wifi, flushing toilets, hot showers, washer/dryer near Blue Ridge. Gotta full size bed with electric blanket, mini fridge/freezer, oil filled radiator and a second tent for storage. Super glamping bro. Strength and Honor.

I’m disabled, I sleep in a chair, I get basic processed food , I get basic healthcare (if you wanna call it that). My home I inherited from my father that I am consistently looked down upon for having as of if I’m not not it! Everyone wants me to move to the local crime riddled city about 25 miles away. Currently I live in a rural area with no crime rate. My only big bill is the darn taxes. Unfortunately, the inflation is more than my cripple pay. My house and property has been payed off over 20 years ago. No one owns anything, you only pay off your mortgage, and you always pay rent!!!

Having watched your channel for several years I have come to realize that you have very good instincts. Your predictions about the storm were spot-on. I lived in Asheville NC for almost a year. I met some awesome people. It was personally devastating to see the damage that hurricane brought with it. Hopefully, the stories of tragedy were reduced by thoughtful input from quality KZbinrs like yourself before the fact. Additionally, I think you're onto something by combining TARPS with TENTS. I see that you test many tents. One nice aspect of this video was showing how a tent that has certain weaknesses can be used with a tarp to overcome those shortfalls & provide a very decent camping experience on a budget. We need more videos like this. Tarps provide such an increase in the quality of basic camping. I'm glad you're taking the time to show how a hybrid setup can be inexpensive & very effective. Thanks!

My sister was in the Navy Reserve and her first MOS was in Navy Intelligence. Their mission is roughly to determine the enemy's size and capabilities. They need to know what our ships, planes, vehicles look like from photos and what the enemy's look like. They sift through classified material and help the military assets on the ground know what to expect or be on the look out for. I was a Fire Support Specialist (Forward Observer) and I worked with the Scouts & S2 in the Army. Your daughter does an important job.

i dont know if ive given this advice in a different comment but: to make sure you have the option of a fire on a day its gonna rain, collect firewood immediately after pitching tent, and process it to smaller logs and stack it. Then, and this is the important step, cover the fire wood stack with an emergency poncho (aka the cheap 99c ones). Its never failed me and i wanted to pass that along. I hope you all are recovering well and I hope the rest of the year treats you better.

Luke, I’m a tarp guy, for maybe 45-50 years. There are small diameter bungee cords available, now. Have you ever considered making bungee prusik loops within your guy lines? The purpose is to allow the lines to stretch in big wind, dumping the big breeze, rather than breaking grommets, tearing the tarp or braking poles. I appreciate the updates on your family and neighbors. I’m sorry about the trouble you folks have had with this big weather. Thank you for sharing this equipment demonstration…from an old man in the hills of east Tennessee.

@@plontkegurl9529Never made a video. Just had trouble with high winds ripping out my tarp grommets, waking me in the middle of my sleep to replace my tarp, in the middle of a windy rain storm. I used to sail; so, I know wind. Found the bungee cord prusik loops would give or stretch, dumping the wind or releasing the big force of the wind. This protected my grommets from ripping out. I got some sleep…from an old vet, retired in the foothills of the Smokies. P.S. Just put bungee prusik loops in the grommets you want to guy out. Then tie or hook the line to the prusik loop rather than the grommet. It doesn’t have to be a prusik. Just put any long loop of bungee in the grommets. It works.

Most products are o.k. when everything (Nature) is nice and comfortable, but if you're really out hiking, hunting, camping, and that gear is ALL you have, it MUST BE RELIABLE. Otherwise, you've just wasted a lot of $$$ to be miserable. I am just lovin' these new tarp setups, playa. Just amazing how much more you can enjoy a camp out when ya have some roomy shelter. I have spent a rainy night in a 5 by 7 A frame trail tent one too many times. Ya need a good lamp and a good book, cuz it can get BORING. But with a good porch area, if ya will? With a good tarp setup like you just built? You can enjoy being out there SO much more. Gotta have shelter. Gotta have a chair. I don't know how I ever backpacked withOUT a chair... these days. All I know is I ain't going on another campout in my life without one. Plus it is amazing how much better being in a tent is... when it is proTECTED by a tarp overhead. Especially in the rain. I don't tent camp much anymore but when I did I always set up a tarp over my tent. As you have shown, most tents leak unless you spend big bucks for a good one. A cheap tarp can make a cheap tent waterproof. And it has the added bonus of keeping the tent mostly dry so you don't have to put it away soaking wet.

The reason I watch your channel is that you actually field test your stuff!!!. Nothing else. The fact that I’m a buyaholic pisses my wife off (that’s a different matter) but when the calamity hits, we may starve, but we’ll be warm and dry😁👍🇺🇸

Luke, I love that set-up. I have several tents, but I really need to add a large tarp and those Green Elephant type poles.I love that three fuel stove. So inexpensive, with adapters for different canisters. That has been a frustrating aspect of camp stoves. We all end up with several. Some use the small canisters, some the green bottles, some the inexpensive butane you used. It's nice to have options.

Hi Luke, Glad to hear you and yours are ok. What a storm Helena turned out to be. I have several friends in the southeast, some I've heard from, some i haven't. Prayers 🙏 for those impacted.

Can you send some of the rain to Texas. We need a little bit. I don't remember the last time we had rain, and our lakes and rivers are so dry. I pray for everybody on the East Coast that have been hit by the hurricanes.I feel so bad for them and they don't need anymore rain right now. Stay safe. Enjoyed watching the Turkey walk through.I live in Texas and we have on our 30 acres in the country turkey, hogs, and axis deer. Turkey looks like a group of hens

😂 gotta admit I laughed out loud when he said he couldn't have a fire because it was raining... different worlds for sure... I do envy that tarp setup though... the wind and sun out at TRoTR have DECIMATED everything other than heavy canvas so far... 🤔🤠👍

Hey Luke, I'm really enjoying this storm. I love storms. How's the family? The turkeys came out to see you what was happening. Oh it's that crazy Luke doing a video. 😂😂 Why you don't bring sweet Susie on some of your storms? Man you sure love broccoli 🥦. That's delicious. Send me a plate. Be safe my friend. Strength and Honor. Please give sweet Susie a hug for me. Thank you for the amazing storm. MS Ann ❤🙏🏽
