An easier way to handle the gradient filter with the sky is to first select the sky, and then use the intersect function to add the gradient or whatever other tool. That will limit the tool to just the sky. So instead of going small and then big, do the opposite. Same results but it's a bit easier. Love your overall look. I learned most of my post processing from your videos. Thank you so much.
@SergeRamelliPhotography2 жыл бұрын
wow I learned something I never used the intersect feature great tip tks for sharing I will be using it in my next videos. Tks Brian!
@TheZagnut692 жыл бұрын
@@SergeRamelliPhotography Or, crazy idea here, you could just use "Select Sky" to just select the sky without the the unnecessary intersection steps. By itself, it does exactly what you wanted - selecting the sky, leaving everything else alone.
@jsw1512 жыл бұрын
For what it's worth, it doesn't matter whether you do the linear gradient or the sky first.

Serge, hello, did you shoot that photo in brackets? And THANK YOU! You are one of the first KZbin photographers I followed when I decided to go full time real estate. Your tips have really helped me develop my own style. It has lead me to shoot some celebrity homes and even last night I had the opportunity to do a paid job, by drone, of the plaza next to Walt Disney Music Hall and the Grand Park leading to City Hall. I am a huge fan of dodge and burning, in fact I have used a method I learned from you using the luminance masking you taught a few years back. It's great seeing how it has evolved. Btw, if ever in the Los Angeles or OC area and are interested in a collaboration, I'd certainly welcome the opportunity. But either way, thank you for the tips, I find it really valuable.

High contrasted area masks can be refined subtracting luminosity mask: quite simple here, you click subtract, then luminosity, and then you take a sample of the dark area of the building, with the proof pipe. You can adjust the subtraction further.
