grab an extra box of planks especially if its at a discount store. sometimes that pattern sells out or is on clearance quickly

U both r awesome n love all ur tips n info about what tools. I will say always make ur cuts with jig saw n circular saw with flooring or even nice wood good side facing down. Big difference in clean edges n ruff ones.

You guys alway share the most helpful tips with visual examples, mistakes and all. For the pattern of how to lay the planks , is it better to start at the longest wall of the room away from the entry way? Is that the same thing facing the sun or away from it?

Thanks, We started at the doorway because we wanted the shorter planks to be towards the back...if we had any. We learned how to measure the width of the planks from doing the laundry room floor. Practice makes you better. -DIYPC 😃✨

Manufacturers say to start in the left corner of the room. Your "left corner" will be determined by how you want your planks to lay and where you want them to end. It is your preference and the plank dry layout can help you decide. Without seeing a pic of your actual space, it is hard to say for sure. 🙂

Can you lay vinyl wood flooring atop a existing one?My husband picked a horrible dark wood for a spare room that was expensive but looks so cheap and fake now I want to put a lighter color for a more beach like vibe.Can I lay something atop the existing wood so it's not permanent? What's that tool called that you can buy that you can push into a irregular shaped area that takes on the shape that can be used as a template guide for cutting?is it a contour duplicator? Hi Catherine! Thanks for watching. 😀 If your vinyl wood flooring is interlocking, it is recommended to take it up before putting another one on top because of the seams. Plus, your new floor will be much higher around the door jams. The tool we think you are referring to is a shape contour guide: amzn.to/3SQiYs2 If the old floor is peel and stick, you could install a thinner vinyl plank on top.

Hi Breeze, removing a single plank is a doable. We have not had to do it yet but there are youtube videos on how to replace a plank. You will have to cut out the old one and make some modifications to the interlocking sides for the new one to fit in. Hope this helps! 🤗
