I have about 1/2 bottle of the 1 oz 10 weight left after years of use. Label fell off, but did look just like the one at the linked website. IIRC it was expensive when I bought it and now the price is even more so it is a good thing one does not use much. Excellent lubricant!

I like the Benchmades and Spydercos a lot but there something special about the old Case folding knives. They harken back to a simpler time in America.

First off, nice choice in knives, I especially love the Gerber Dime, it’s an EDC for me. I did want to comment, I know a whole lot of people who have different oils for just about everything… I just wanted to make note that I for years now have used nothing but 3-in-1 oil for both my firearms and knives (even as a honing oil) and it is FANTASTIC, offers perfect protection and minimal viscosity. Best part about it… $3 a bottle and I am still using the same bottle as I had 6 years ago.

bUt Its NOt guN Oil! I used kerosene to clean and wheel bearing grease for the longest time, although I like the breakthrough clean products ( no smell or toxins) 3-1 and similar products work just fine lol

@OGRH Жыл бұрын
This comment is absolutely underrated! We live in a world that would sacrifice its children for corporate interests (the love of money)... we are constantly being ripped off... I'm not saying the products are not good... I am simply pointing out that there are plenty of things all around us that are just as good or better, that cost next to nothing & are still extremely profitable for the makers. When we lose our innovation to hype, our species loses everything that makes us great! I'm not saying this product doesn't work... but 20 mL of any liquid mass produced, better not set anyone back more than a Lincoln! And I'm not referring to a Penny... even though that's approximately 50% more than it costs to make! I do believe in being reasonable, and profitable, but things are surely getting out of hand!
@levimluke
@levimluke Жыл бұрын
@@OGRH I agree, we often see many products that are just re-labeled product that’s being sold to a niche market at prices far beyond their actual value. For what? Nothing more than a rebrand of an old trusty. When old products, like 3-in-1, advertise that they can be used on a million different useless and their cheap, they usually mean it… and if you find they don’t do what you need? We’ll… shoot… it was a 5th of the bougie cash grab, your not out much.

Would like to see you do a show on paper road maps, something everyone should have in their car. We have vast wooded areas in my state where you can’t get any cell reception or GPS. Also we learned the hard way after a 60 mph wind storm snapped electric poles in half. The grid was down for a week. And no cell reception so we could not contact family. Again, no GPS. My sons take road trips in rural areas where this is a big problem. Paper road maps! Still not old fashioned!

I've done testing between Nano oil, KPL, and Go-Juice. I've found Go-Juice and KPL are the best. Nano oil is just overpriced normal oil. You can tell from their description as being a "metal to metal antifriction lubricant." That's what most oils for tools are for 😂. You can get a big bottle of Go-Juice and put it in a bottle with a needle applicator for half the price. Little bit goes a long way. Also, go juice works for firearms as well, of course. In fact, it was designed for firearms.

About 60 or so years ago when I was just a kid, I began working on old radios, televisions, tape recorders, (youngsters ask, "What's that?"), and turntables and record players. I learned at a very young age not to get oil on rubber drive components in players and recorders. To control the flow of oil, I went to the neighborhood Rexall drug store and convinced the pharmacist why I needed a syringe and needle for working on my electronic repair projects. Yes. He sold me one. I learned early on to judiciously use a tiny bit of lubricant on those tiny motors and belt drive systems, or spend a shitload of time cleaning it all back off with methanol and starting over. I'll bet you can't go in a drug store any more and buy just one syringe and needle. I'll bet you can't buy 100, unless you have an accompanying purchase of insulin with a prescription.

Never heard of Nano Oil, but…My .02…it’s more about the syringe applicator than the lubricant! I have several brands of syringe applicators and they all work well at getting lubricant to the spot you need it. Nano Oil may be the next best thing, but…I’ll stay with what I’m using…it works for me…!

All but one knife I own is a fixed blade. I don’t like folding knives. And is the oil toxic? Now with blue and black knives I can hear a difference in sound the black one sounds like metal on a stone and the blue one just clicks. Now with hunting knives I would use olive oil or cooking oil because some oils can poison the meat.

WD40 is not a lubricating oil at all. Maybe to clean parts in a pinch b4 a good oil but otherwise WD40 just collects dirt and dries out. A couple drops of regular motor oil works fine on fans and such. Knives are another story. It matters what it's used for, if for food use edible oil.

Please be careful. Groundbreaking is not always safe. In fact it is rarely safe. Nano particles are so minute that they can permeate our cell walls, meaning that they can pass through skin into our bloodstream, even through the blood cell walls. From there these particulate can travel throughout our body and beyond the blood brain barrier. I personally know of five individuals who suffered Bells Palsy (facial paralysis) that was attributed by their physicians, to the use of a nano technology product. These substances will never be filtered by our bodies natural processes. They can not be filtered via dialysis. They can attach to your very DNA and cause proteins to mutate. Mutation causes those proteins to collect in soft tissues, eventually resulting in organ failure. Im guessing that the active ingredient in that oil is graphene. Im also guessing that the label warns you to wear gloves. Are you going to put on gloves every time you use one of your tools?
