10 weight synthetic motor oil is what I use. 1 quart is a lifetime supply. It stays put and doesn’t gum up or oxidize. I put a drop on either side of the pivot and work it in. I know this isn’t tech-fancy but I’ve dine this for years and it works. I use needle oilers for application. Starting out, I usually flood the bearing area and clean up everything with paper towels, q-tips and pipe cleaners. It’s not food safe and will, leave an oily taste on anything you cut but that goes away pretty quickly. Wiping the blade with 90% alcohol will get the surplus oil off. I do this with Kershaw’s, Gerber’s, Victorinox, Buck and all my little Chinese made small folders.

Gotta be careful with how much lube one puts in. If too much is applied, it can encourage gunk to get stuck in there. I've used 10wt nano oil, kpl, gunny glide, and daiwa reel oil. Probably a near life time supply with those 4, a little bottle will last me a long time. Only one I wouldn't recommend out of those is the reel oil, it's a bit too light for me and is also the most toxic (iirc), the other 3 are solid though. Btw isn't spy 27 on par with like s30v for corrosion resistance? Do you have s30v rusting on you in general? Is it just the spyderco logo? I've heard of people having problems with that spot on spydercos. Anywho I like frog lube for rust resistance, it's food safe. Just heat the blade up a little bit with a blow dryer or whatever then apply it, it's really good stuff.

Yeah it is supposed to be on par with it, but after cutting a lemon it rusted on me on the blade and edge, nothing I’ve ever seen S30v do
