The spec relic isn't even comparable to the healing one. The healing one removes the need for prayer pots, food at around 80% of bosses. And spec relies entirely on your region choices for spec weapons and then further on your combat build. For example in Old trailblazer you could t2 no food no pot kill hunleff with healing relic due to how fast it heals u

Last time I went Desert Kandarin and Fremennik in a Mage build. I enjoyed the shit out of it and felt like I was going a different path from everyone else. Took me too long to realize that you could totally fight Vorkath using max mage attack and a trident. The 125% accuracy boost was enough with that gear to do damage to him regularly. You didn't have to use the Ice Barrage cheese, which wouldn't work because of his facehugger special.

I'm pretty sure crystal armour only affects bowfa and crystal bow not the blade of saeldor. That said it's still a very good melee weapon even without armour bonus.

kourend is probably the best for skilling, it's huge and has at least mid level training options for all skills with several world bests (wtt, farming and wc guild, blast mining, aerial fishing...) you can failry easily max in kourend only but if you wanna purely skill I suppose the best idea would be to start there and unlock regions for best methods of whatever is annoying to do in kourend. Probably just get morytania for agility in the sepulchre ? I can't think of any other skill that would truly be hard in kourend.

Absolutely agree with the comment here, Kourend feels disproportionately rewarding as a single region with enough content for PvM & skilling. A great first choice. Otherwise I’d put forward a case for Kandarin being the 2nd best region for skilling

My favorites are Wilderness - Kandarin - Desert mage, Asgarnia - Kandarin - Morytania melee, and Tirannwn - Desert - Asgarnia / Zeah range builds. The only problem is I can't decide what style sounds the most fun! I'll wait for more info on relics :)

Would definitely avoid Kandarin for every style but mage and definitely not pick it first for mage. Defenders/void/dbaxe/dmace are way better for melee than a dscim/piety is. Infinity/tome/wand/ancients are also way better than mystics/iban/new staff. You basically only want Kandarin when you're ready for slayer to do Kraken/Demonics.

Piety is a bigger upgrade than anything the other regions have (and also Kandarin has a lot of great skilling options), the main argument I see is if you want more endgame content to work with. @OnlyRusseLLHD it's not core in the slightest. A is core. Torture is literally a strength ammy in leagues. Kandarin is absolute garbage for range and melee. 7% strength on a prayer is not worth choosing a region over. And no, piety is absolutely not more impactful than any weapon upgrade. Fang and scythe are King and fang is really easy to get. A provides literally BIS everything other than weapon (BGS may be core though). K gives you horrible tasks and horrible training methods. Literally no upgrades other than piety for melee and anguish for range. It's possible it has an easy task list because the region is so shit though but you shouldn't be choosing miserable regions just because they get you another relic faster unless you're a steamer or don't want to play until the end.

Everyone always forgets that amethyst darts from asgarnia don't require tourist trap, so if you're going GWD, you'll have darts anyway, even without the desert.

in the ranged section, if the player does decide to unlock asgarnia they can actually make amethyst dart tips without completion of tourist trap oddly enough. Not 100% sure what type of build I want to go this time, but no matter what zeah is going to be my first region pick. it seems way too good to skip, it has something for literally every build and tons of utility/content for every type of player

Its important to mention that there is no guarantee that there will be style specific relics so you don't really have to specialize. I would also strongly recommend avoiding Kandarin unless you really want max mage damage (unless things really change from the last two leagues). And I would strongly caution against taking Kourend first or even second.

@@blairaitcheson6242 not necessarily last but definitely not first. Second could be good if you've already got good gear and you want Konar for slayer, farming guild, wc guild/planks, and DWH. But I'd probably avoid it second unless you want the DWH before you go to your third place. You want to be late game for CoX and you have to be near maxed to do hydra.

In terms of dps and content balance. Kourend, kandarin, desert is BIS with mage build. Tumekin shadow will effectively have a 600% magic accuracy boost outside of TOA and 800% inside. Along with an extra 20% overall damage if relics remain same as old trailblazer. In basic terms shadow will be best dps of any weapon and any build on any monster that isnt immune to mage. Olms melee hand for example is 66% damage yet shadow will outdps a scythe on melee build due to area restrictions on strength bonuses if picking kourend. Along with this youll be able to obtain bis melee weapon (fang), bis ranged armour masori, occult and tormented brace for 45% eztra damage on shadow and have 2 of the fun raids available.

@@Tatercon not with kandarin unlocked. Max on trident of seas is 48 with occult, tormented and overload/salt. With approx 250 or so accuracy bonus Shadow max is 90 with occult and tormented, overload/salts with 600 - 800 accuracy bonus depending on toa or cox. Trident would need to have a maxhit of 60-65 to be even equal in raw damage but factor in shadows stupid accuracy bonus due to its passive (which is doubled with magic relic) and its BIS weapon within leagues. Of course the math is based on old trailblazer relic effects so that's another discussion if they mess with any effects or not

@@Tatercon no calc is fine, remember that shadow has a passive 3x accuracy/damage boost or 4x within toa. . Which is now double if relics are as expected. So that's 6x/8x. Meaning 100 mage accuracy gear would be 600/800. If anything I'm lowballing how accurate it will be as 100 is easy to achieve. Along with that you have 20% damage bonus from mage relic + healing relic 10% each. For example, on melee hand even at 34% damage you can hit 31s 3T with almost perfect accuracy no defence reduction needed. As opposed to a tent whip which will max approx 47 with strength bonuses obtainable (no piety) with no defence reduction is still only a 61% chance to hit. Shadow still comes out almost 20% better even after the damage reduction effect. Shadow is useable in live game as BIS/2nd BIS at around 80% of bosses already, Meaning with the 3t speed and doubled accuracy it will be BIS at at least these 80% of bosses. Which is numerically BIS overall. I hope that explains it better

They've already shown a picture of the region map in the blog post and Kourend comes with Kebos. The larger area of land that's grayed out below Kourend in the picture is Varlamore, the area they just recently announced as a future area expansion to the game, which isn't coming for a while (I assume it's just there as a teaser).

I think we'd have to wait and see what the mage relics are. Last time they only affected Magic accuracy, which doesn't make Corp easier, accuracy doesn't really help get through Corp's high magic level and defence. I'm sure I read somewhere that they knew this was a drawback to magic in the last trailblazer so let's wait and see if they introduce a sort of magic level reduction/penetration.

Been watching your last few vids about the League, earned a sub from me mate. Couple things i wanted to point out, 1. How come Dex scroll/Rigour was not highlighted as a major range upgrade from Zeah? Dex combined with the relic that also gives rangec strength would be massive, unless they cant stack or the relics are different. 2. Crystal armour doesnt work with Blade of Saeldor, it doesnt give it any damage or accuracy. Not sure if you were saying it did or were just saying it would be decent armour to use for that region if going melee. 3. What are yours thoughts on the mysetery 7th tier relic? Do you think itll be a limited time access to a 4th region? If so id imagine it would shake up the metas tremendously, as there might be some regions for your chosen style that youd be abld to quickly pick up some massive upgrades before being locked out again

Hey! Totally fair points, while I didn't mention Rigour & Augury in detail I slapped their icons in their respective summary page - they are definitely a highlight. As for the mystery 7th tier, I'm really not sure. Someone mentioned that they could use the 7th relic as a way to jump into another region you haven't unlocked for a limited period of time. I like that idea but doubt that Jagex will go that way. Maybe it's just an opportunity to move the special attack relic out of the 6th tier so that we aren't stuck deciding between a further style-related relic or a utility relic like weapon specialist.

I've been theory crafting regions for synergy for cool builds on my breaks at work and this video of yours was awesome man, was very helpful to see everything explained in such great detail and with the visual aids. My current plan is Z A D for a Zaryte crossbow, Lightbearer, Rigour, Special attack relic, full fortified masori, and buckler to absolutely blitz through everything with special attacks that recharge at an ungodly rate to be slapping everything for constant 110s. I honestly thing the key for this League is needed it play 2 accounts with 2 styles to get the most fun out of different content!

Pretty sure the reason they said no axe is because you would need access to all 4 desert treasure 2 bosses to get it. This would require Desert, Fremmy, Kourend, and Asgarnia. Being that you can only unlock 3 regions this is impossible.

all 3 raids would be fun, the problem is the gear to do said raids with is horrible. you don't have access to much gear to actually do the raids with in the first place, which will be a problem IMO. Sure the gear from the raids will be amazing, but have fun doing them with very sub par gear, even with powerful relics.

@@pallettown3358 Tbf, if you can do ToB first you'll get sang and scythe/rapier which will carry your melee/mage, then you just need rcb + rubies for range if you're doing team raids. ToA is also pretty easy with weak gear, so you could camp that for fang and lightbearer which will help a bit. Shadow will suck w/out occult/tormented, but again once you get sang you'll be chillin with magic. The hard part will just be starting ToB as a new player, but I didn't do last trailblazer so idk how hard it was to find teams.

Sadly... Something I think everyone is forgetting/not noticing, is that Zeah is split into two regions. Kourend & Kebos. If you want raids, you have to pick Kebos, not Kourend :( Edit: I was referring to the region image jagex released and thought varlemor was kebos. Ignore me.

For a casual experience thought I think regions like Morytania for barrows, pretty easy on mobile, some of the godwars dungeon is easily doable on mobile, especially with the melee relic so Asgarnia and maybe a utility region like Kandarin or Zeah as your very first choice!

You literally missed out on the meta range build with Zeah, Desert, Asgarnia. You also have the sleeper build with Asgarnia, Morytania and Wilderness. Full justic, Ely and ZCB. Pick spec relic, equip a pneck, and you'll hit 110s every 2 ticks guaranteed, while also being immortal

It’s a toss up between Zeah and Morytania for the last one. Morytania is the choice if you are going for ruinous powers for the stronger prayers imo. Buuuut, Zeah is far superior for skilling. I think Morytania will be better in the end. With the relics, there’s a fun build you can do the Dharok, more dmg the less health you are at and a revive if you die that has a 3 min cooldown.

I think people sleep on the combo of Asgarnia, Desert and Fremmenik. Venator bow with full masori is strong competition. If you dont want to do Cox, then I feel Fremmenik has the most uses counting DT2 rewards

Corp has simple mechanics and it's much easier to spam than raids that will still take a while to get through just because doing a raid takes a while. Upside of bulwark is that you're getting rolls for really great stuff alongside it while ELy is already the best reward. Ely is also just much better than a bulwark so that's a weird question :p

I think its worth pointing out, its not possible to use dart tips unless tourist trap has been completed. You need fully made darts to use with the blow pipe if you dont plan on choosing the dessert :)

I think the point meta will be the 3 raids locations. Inquisitor, ancestral, and nonfortified masori. 3 mega weapons. All the extra raid weapons. Harmonized nm staff/sang/shadow. Volatile staff. No rings from dt2 unfortunately. Oh and barrows sets. Gwd is great, but torva/godswords are just outclassed by each raid. It’s easier to burn out soloing gwd than it is raiding

Ranged is my favorite combat style, but I went melee last league and it was a blast. That being said, with Zeah being included, I’m SUPER inclined to go ranged this time. Assuming Konar is programmed to only assign tasks in the regions you pick (I’m honestly sure this will end up bugging for a lot of people until they’re able to pick their own tasks), that’s gonna be incredible, though maybe less so without ancients. For ranged, I’d be going Zeah for the utility mainly: farming guild is gonna be fucking BUSTED, WC guild for AFK, tithe farm also gonna be SUPER busted, Wintertodt is gonna be busted, and having CoX will be awesome even if ultimately not super necessary outside of TBow and Rigour. Beyond that, I’m feeling Fremmy and Asgarnia for full Arma, Venator bow, Accumulator upgrade, pegs, archer ring, and Zaryte vambs. Possibly I’d sub out Asgarnia and go elven lands, considering full Crystal + bowfa will be mega busted and you’ll probably be able to just build a weapon frame and ignore armor and shred Hunleff. But most likely I’ll also do a melee account on an alt and go Asgarnia & Morytania for arguably the largest amount of overall content and dope-ass gear, and probably Kourend again for the insane amount of utility it provides for non-combat stuff. And then I’ll probably do ANOTHER alt for magic focus and that’s a pretty easy Kourend, Desert, and Morytania for me. Kourend again provides loads of utility and of course BIS magic armor, the desert gets you Shadow, but arguably most importantly ancient magics for bursting catacombs tasks, and Morytania gets you the coolest region and Ahrims robes to help with attaining the BIS items. Man, I’m excited!

If I was thinking of doing KAD, it seems that melee or mage would probably be my go-tos then? I'm not familiar with any of the raids, so it felt like K into A into D would set me up with a good early>mid>late game progression and I can learn ToA during leagues, but if anyone thinks I should swap any of my choices and has a good reason I'm willing to hear it out!

If we get the double attack speed relics again then whip will beat fang nearly everywhere because fang has an odd attack speed. I want to go ranged because it has the best lategame, but melee's early/mid game is the strongest. Tirranwm and Kourend are a given, but after that it's between asgarnia and desert. Unfortified masori has the same offense bonus as fortified, and defense may not matter.

Imo, choosing ranged and choosing asgarnia over zeah is a massive dps loss for ranged since rigour is amazing & even if you choose desert, fortifiying masori only adds defensive stats & getting +4 accuracy on ranged (no max hit just accuracy) from boots doesn't change much. Also think that a lot of people theory crafting ranged are overlooking ava's devices which no one will have without morytania unless they decide for some reason to give that free with misthalin. If we don't get ava's devices, ranged is going to be really hard to pull off unless they make a ranged relic that starts collecting ammo similar to shattered relics league. This wasn't in the last trailblazer so we'll see what they decide!

Opinions vary but between Kourend, The Desert and Morytania, Kourend is definitely the most starter-friendly of the 3 and will likely speed up the rate in which you can unlock your 2nd region too.

ToA is the easiest raid by a landslide, I bet it's possible to solo run 150s with 80s combat, a magic shortbow, rune scimy and fire blasts if relics are strong enough. if you are willing to prep more then maybe moritanya is actually the big brain easy steping stone to get some barrows gear first and then you unlock another region before needing to get into ToB.

DKF might be more dps for a mage build than DKZ. Virtus + Magus = 5% bonus vs Ancestral 6% bonus. Saturated heart in Fremennik will outweigh the 1% (3% with Shadow)

Unless you plan to do ToB, don't pick Mory. It was my biggest regret in Leagues 2.

I'm going to pick Morytania and I'm not even going to do barrows except for points. I'm going melee this time though. If you're going mage then you should give up Morytania. You only get the ToB staff and the Nightmare staff from Morytania and it's a very slim chance to get those.

I know people are creaming themselves over a TBOW from Kourend, but you probably aren't going to get it. Its roughly 1k raids to get it in the normal game and with leagues bonus, closer to 300-350. By the time you are able to do raids, there won't be much time left. However, Rigour is a gigantic upgrade that is worth it
