Brilliant! I am starting with a 5D MKII and a 50mm 1.8

Thanks Scott, just watched in the office with the sound off and the auto subtitles must be one of those 100 people who doesn't understand an English accent. It must be due to all these American sitcoms and crime dramas that makes everyone think our accent is weird.

Im happy you use macro extention tubes :D I have several but haven't put them in use because I watched videos saying it isn't true macro.....which doesn't matter in the end. What does bugg me is that the focus is very strange when you put the extention tube.

Can a 14mm with 8” close focus be good for food photography too?

Well done! I love my 45mm TS for the same reasons and more. You know you are producing great work, when professionals with 30+ years of experience are watching and enjoying your "amateur" videos. Spot on!

What about the tilt and shift 85 mm 2.8?

Would you use your TS 90mm if you were photographing one dish overhead? Or would a 100mm do just fine?
@qwe12315 жыл бұрын
Good video. But please remember to state that you're recommending lenses with focal lengths / fields of view for *full frame*, which you don't really state (but do mention your own FF body). If you don't recommend APS-C cameras you might start off mentioning it and why, or else make suitable recommendations for crop-sensor bodies: Nifty-50 f/1.8 on crop sensor is equivalent to 80mm f/2.9, for example, so if you're recommending a 50mm FOV you might want instead to mention the EF 35/2 (or one of the Tamrons/Sigmas) instead.

Great, ... but where are the pictures as examples? That would be interesting in particular for the Tilt and Shift lens. It's a photography channel, Isn't it?

Does the tilt shift lens help avoid the issue with flat lays where the dishes, glasses on the edges look tilted outwards?
@omenworks4 жыл бұрын
I wish you included some examples as for someone starting it's hard to understand the differences between 50mm and 100mm etc.
@joshwilson64003 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference is the higher the number, the more close up it is. E.g. if I shot something with a 50mm lens and then shot the same thing the same distance away using a 100mm lens, the object will appear closer. There are other differences but that's the biggest. I also don't think he needs to explain the differences because these are part of the fundamentals for photography which this video/channel is not focused on covering. Best of luck!

The 45mm TS can also take the Canon tele-converters to make it a 65mm or 90mm portrait lens
