I still remember reaching and playing through Precepiece in R2, and Hoodlum's HQ in R3. There were so many "whoa" and "wow"'s comming outta my mouth. Something about being in the thick of all the action, deep within enemy territory, staying focused. Really puts an emphasis on how much of a hero Rayman is.

For me it's: Rayman 1: Pencil Pentathlon. Rayman 2: Fairy Glade Rayman 3: Land of the Livid Dead (but since that is such a standout id like to mention my second pick here being the Clearleaf Forest)

My favourite Rayman Origins level is the one that actually consists of three levels. The one with the robot boss fights, chasing the main villain and ending in the hardest mosquito section in the game.

Personally, I love the Desert of the Knaaren the most in Rayman 3. Something about that sudden shift into horror, the coolness and mystique of the Knaaren themselves and the ridiculously fun fight with Reflux make it stand out as the most memorable level in the franchise in my mind.

Omg before watching, I chose a favorite level from each game, and Iron Mountain was a childhood favorite for Rayman 2. I vividly remember flying down a huge passage, encountering this big chicken-like robot, and having so much fun. As a kid, I’d just run around without worrying about clearing the level. Such great memories!

Great video as always! Makes my day every time, seeing any form of Rayman in discussion! Here's my favourite levels: (Might be a bit of a paragraph, sorry... okay, a big paragraph!) Rayman 1: Mr Skops' Stalactites I for one am a fan of brutally hard levels in videogames! Though in my honest opinion, I don't think this one is as hard as some of the other ones in that particular world. This specific one having only one platforming portion, and then a two-level encounter with Skops. I find it super satisfying to run, jump and glide through the platforming level and nabbing every cage in one go! Funny, that when I was a kid, this was the level I hated the most, because I never could wrap my head around the momentum of swinging and my sense of timing wasn't that great! But when I got good at the game, it became like a whole new level! The following Boss fight with Skops, again, hated it as a kid, love it now! The meticulousness of his attack pattern in the chase is fun to learn, the chase is tense with the rising lava, and the music is just top notch. Now, you can just imagine what my experience with the final Skops fight was! I didn't know, that you could punch his beam back at him, so I died constantly, not knowing how to hit him. Then I started baiting his shot into him, and only just barely got him to his last bit of health, before getting killed by him stepping forward and running out of lives! Nowadays, it's easy as pie and wouldn't have it end any other way! So yeah, Current me absolutely loves the heck out of this level! The level design, the music, the high octane chase section, the satisfying end fight, all compounds into a fantastic experience for me! Rayman 2: Cave of Bad Dreams Easy pick, between the dream-like aesthetic, the "nightmarish" monsters, the challenging platforming, the haunting music and the adrenaline-pumping chase with Jano at the end, love it, love it! I also just love anything dream-related so that gives extra brownie points to it! Honestly don't have much else to say, because I simply just vibe with this level! I did like discovering the way the one-eyed monsters could eat you, I found it pretty funny. Plus the choice at the end, did get a smirk out of me! Rayman 3: Summit Beyond the Clouds. (Land of the Livid Dead being just shy, so I have to mention it) I definitely agree with your points on Land of the Livid Dead! The variety in design, the whole theme of spirituality, the travel between realms, even the underwater section was awesome! But Summit beyond the Clouds just does it for me! Let me take you through my thoughts as I was leading up to it: I was shaking in my boots the entire time, when I was going through the Dessert of the Knaaren, which really messed me up the first time I played, so I just couldn't bring myself to finish it, and then I proceeded to play the game only up to the first section of the Dessert and stopped, when I entered the Knaaren section, starting the game over! I played the game like that for years as a kid, until I finally manned up and forced myself to play it through! I nervously (and slowly) eeked my way through every section, until I finally reached Reflux, and beat him! The amount of weight being lifted of my shoulders was unimaginable, because my childhood was validated! Now, the Longest Shortcut feels like a big lull in the game design, and was honestly quite boring, so my thoughts just kept drifting to my absolute satisfaction of leaving the Dessert of the Knaaren behind, and how frightening the experience was! Then, I finally reached the ship section before the Summit! Suddenly, everything was quite lively again. I died a couple times in this section, but in that moment, I was back in "oh yeah, this game's great and really hard, let me focus up" mode! So I learned the process, figured out when to hit each cannon and ker-bango, ka-blammo, the level was done! Now, why this massive tangent, and where are my thoughts on the Summit beyond the Clouds? Well, here's why I think this was necessary: See, I believe the order these three levels were structured was completely intentional! The Dessert of the Knaaren was a massive outlier in the game's overall tone, succeeding in being scary more than the devs thought, judging by the shared childhood stories about the level and from the massive yap you just read, so The Longest Shortcut is there to slowly put your mind at ease, giving you a simple task of just collecting a bunch of shiny doodads and absolutely no enemies to speak of! And then the kid gloves come back off in the ship section! Timing, speed and quick decision-making! All that getting you back into the usual flow of the game! And then you step into the Summit, and the sense of wonder comes flooding back! This is where I just completely locked in, and where Rayman 3 was cemented as my favorite game of all time! I was completely mesmerised by the music and the aesthetic! I absolutely love everything about this level! The snow theme, the scale of the sprawling mountain, the climb of the entire thing, and of course, the best snowboarding section ever, as you slide back down the entire mountain alongside an absolute bop of a song! Couldn't imagine a better way to bring an entire game back from its darkest point! Every time I think of Rayman 3, this level comes to mind instantly! Coupled with the childhood trauma of going through the Dessert of the Knaaren beforehand, this level is everything! Rayman Origins: Gotta go with Moody Clouds! The awesome Moskito section, followed by tight and smooth as hell platforming at high speeds in a massive steampunk aesthetic are what does it for me! Plus the Magician's reveal at the end, followed by the awesome escape section, as the entire building collapses around you! The shooter section is great, the timing based section is great, the callback to the previous bosses is great, and the following ending to the game is a hilarious way to finish off! Rayman Legends: Regular: The amazing Maze The reasons I love this level are pretty similar to the reasons I love The Caves of Skops from the first game! It is so much fun to whisp through the individual miniature challenges scattered through the entire thing when you get good! The design is also very unique! I love the way the whole thing twists and turns, the way the rooms flip side to side and upside down! Also, Greek myths are my lifeblood, so the entirety of Olympus Maximus is a highlight for me in my playthroughs! Music: Dragon Slayer! (Though Mariachi Madness was my favorite for the longest time.) Even though Mariachi Madness ticks all of the right boxes, and I do love the "Dia de Muertos" references, and Eye of the Tiger is a bop... ... as an avid Rock enjoyer, Dragon Slayer ticks all those boxes, and then some! The calm beginning, the build-up from the bass, the crescendo at the end... it's the STUFF, man! Well, that was a yap and a half, wasn't it? If you made it through, you're the GOAT, and I'm glad to see you're just as passionate about Rayman as me! Thanks and take care, peace!

I dunno that I've got a "favorite" level for any of the games, BUT there are standout levels that I think of when I think of each individual game: Rayman 1: Moskito's Nest, Twilight Gultch Rayman 2: Menhir Hills, Whale Bay, The Canopy Rayman 3: The Fairy Council, Bog of Murk, The Longest Shortcut Also, I've alway dreamed of a second installment of each of the first three games, if that makes sense. Each game is so unique and charming that I think sequels would be phenomenal.

I only played rayman 2 & 3 and agree with land of the livid dead, hard to chose just one from rayman 2 but overall cave of bad dreams is still my favourite. Something about returning to the swamp level and talking to that creepy eyeball monster once you know the name of the place, teleporting you into a spooky dream world where it eventually hunts you down. The sliding section from the monsters prey perspective to the boss fight with the floating skulls and the gag ending if you take the treasure with fat rayman always stuck with me. really enjoy your videos keep it up

Allegro Presto is an interesting choice given I'd argue that's where the game goes from colourful fun platformer to total bogus unfair platforming. Definitely not what I would pick. I actually like the vibe of Crystal palace, a very late game level in the caves of Skorps. Visuals and soundtrack are top. I, sadly, grew up with the unanimously agreed worst port of Raymond 2: The okay-but-not-great escape that is the PS1 port so I'm missing about a third of the game but I do remember really enjoying Beneath the Sanctuary of rock and Lava since I found the perma-flying in 3D fun. Raymun 3: Delinquent Din I... cannot disagree. Land of the living dead is peak. Beautiful scenery and music but you missed out my favourite part. One wee detail in this game I like is how the teensies all have some activity they want to do as the leave "I have to go file my taxes." In LotLD, the ghost teensies sound so DONE with everything and are like "Oh, lucky me... I have to go iron my kilt." or "Yay... I have to gor walk my flowers and water my dog." XD Roy's Oranges is one of those games where pretty much every level is fun so its hard to pick a truly great one. I really like Gourmet land for its mix of ice and fire levels with Piping hot being the highlight. I really like the music track called Dashing through the fire. Sounds like a fun kitchen party. Chicken legends is much like origins in that there's no BAD levels. Also, the music levels totally count, so your pick of eye of the tiger is top. ;) Personally, I prefer castle rock since I love Black Betty bam a lam. If you still don't count them, I might need to go with the level "A madman's creation since the mechanical dragon set piece is SO cool. Plus, who doesn't love launching those dark teensies to the moon? :D

I never considered the Iron Mountain as a candidate for being the best level in Rayman 2. I was too disappointed that it was not an actual sanctuary (like the sactuary of ice and water, the sanctuary of stone and fire, etc.). I wanted a true iron sanctuary, with a bossfight, but instead I just got that baby globox rescuing sequence where the ship always hits the walls of the narrow corridors. And I felt that the level was a bit too long. But now that I think further about it, it's a cool level, yeah.

I gotta know, what's the deal with Rayman Legends? I've seen a lot of people say it's worse (in a bad, not less good way) than Origins and this vid makes it feel like the difference is higher, while i think it's genuinely the best Rayman experience Most accesible by being in every platform, incredible worlds and art styles (i think they're more detailed than Origins and have more work put into them, but preferring the style of one is perfectly alr), most variety in gameplay with the invasions, music levels, Kung Foot, characters, challenges, etc, and also how it has 85% of Origins packed in, with the same fun levels and all their gimmicks What's wrong with that game i want to know and learn

Origins's has amazingly high highs but the consistency of its quality is bumpy. There's a lot of notable lows, so even if it offers some better levels than Legends, it still feels like you kinda need to drudge through some less stellar stuff every now and then. Legends meanwhile is just a pleasant experience all throughout, except for the shadow Rayman challenges. But while Legends has a wonderful pacing it never delivers similar levels of high as Origins, it is rather lacking in difficulty and only uses it in very short bursts. And the game is alarmingly short. Though Legends' improvements on Origins' controls are nice, there's a bit of stiffness in Origins that becomes more apparent when you jump between it and Legends. Land of the Livid Dead from Origins is one of my favourite 2D levels in general. Path of Pain from Hollow Knight is another favourite.
