client lag. On his screen pathy was higher on the stairs than he was according to the server, is my best guess. 'Cause if you slow it down to half speed it's VERY clearly not aimed at his head, but keep in mind pathy was moving upward so a few frames earlier it might have been. It's also possible that it wasn't really a headshot, that his client made a prediction error and displayed a headshot but it wasn't actually recorded as one. Sometimes you can see mismatches between the damage numbers you see and the amount of damage you actually did, because of client prediction errors where your client thinks you landed hits that the server says were misses. The client shows the number and then is corrected by the server afterward.
