The mark 4 would be turned into basically anything, from infantry support with both cannon and machine gun models. Engineering vehicles, with the ability to destroy trenches, an armoured personal carrier (see the one at the bovington tank museum for example), a mobile command bunker, a self propelled gun, and even a blimp towing port.

​​​@@TeurastajaNexusWhat are you on about the Panzer IV or even the Turan is much better💀. The sherman doesn't excel at anything except numbers (which isn't a matter in war thunder). The panzer 4 is pretty similar but has greater firepower which makes it much more reliable and can easily deal with heavier targets unlike the sherman. The mobility and armor is pretty much the same, aswell as their height. So because of the firepower, the panzer 4 is a clear winner pound to pound if not in other ways aswell. Edit: I forgot to mention I'm obviously only talking about this specific type of shermans and not any other, like the jumbo.

@@KokenyRichard I'm a German main originally and I stand on my opinion that the Shermans are overall superior at 3.7-4.2 BR range. Their APCBC is good, they have better armor than the Panzer 4s and also they are equipped with vertical stabilizers. Don't get me wrong, the Panzer 4s are good but I'm just better at smacking them with the Shermans.

The apcbc IMO is literally bad, it has what 103 mms of pen? Like that's pretty bad if you ask me, IMO the panzer 4 is superior to the sherman at 4.0 because of it's firepower.

@@KokenyRichard Sure, the Panzer 4 has got a better round but it doesn't matter that much for me. The armor of the Sherman has worked better on several occasions in my experience. People bounce off their shots quite often and partly because the armor is angled.

People who knock U.S 75mm for low pen do not care to look at the average armor thickness it faces. Most tanks have plates 30-40mm thick. 100mm of pen is more than enough. Plus your height causes the round to more easily normalize on sloped plates.

​@@ideadlift20kg83To be honest , US 75mm is way too overpowered in WT . He penetrated a SU-122's front plate at what 600m ? 45mm sloped at 50° , this is a T-34 front plate . Never ever this would pen , they just buffed the Shermans pretty hard . The fake stabilizer is the next thing , never worked like that irl .

@@5co756 The kill cam cannot show arching of shots. It will always regardless of distance show a straight line shot. At 600m the shot will arch downwards. It also is not accurate at depicting where you actually hit. Latency and so on affects it. I have had shells do 180s back and forth until it just magically decides to normalize on the plate I shot.

Love facing KV1 (E&B) in this thing. Frontally they struggle to pen you and dont have the stabilizer like you. Best part you can one shot them in the lower front plate every time its incredible.

The M4A2 is genuinely one of my most favorite tanks in the game its stupid fun and easy to play. Stabilized, aphe, good armor at such a low br with new players is insane. It was lowered from Rank 3 to Rank 2 though so you can't grind events with it but its still amazing!

I actually prefer the 3.7 M4 even at 4.0 over the M4A2. Gaijin in their infinite wisdom modeled the 51mm turret cheek weakspot without applique armor on the M4A2 (which it shouldn't even have, it's a late model turret with the loader's hatch that was cast with extra armor over that spot) and I find that to be a far worse weakspot than the M4's driver's hatches with applique. I also find that the majority guns that can go through the M4/M4A2's hull can go through it with the track armor anyway. And the APCR is basically worthless.

You should give the Centurion Mk.5 AVRE a go. Since the recent HESH change, it's quite reliable (thought there's the occasional certified gaijin moment). Plus you can lobe a child-sized amount of HE from behind hills, and the ERA plates protects you from a lot of things at its BR.
