Toyota/lexus really has perfected the hybrid. Excellent reliability and great MPG
@capitalexotics2 ай бұрын
This Lexus ES actually has a larger back seat space than the Lexus LX. It’s huge. Only downside is no rear split folding seats, no option at all for rear heated seats (really not sure why), and the hybrid is a little underpowered at 215hp and a 8 second plus 0-60. Yes, I know it’s not a sports car but it’s still a very expensive luxury vehicle and the next gen 2026 ES should have around 240hp judging on the new Toyota Camry gen5 hybrid system or the Toyota Crown.

If you had to choose, would you get this one over the 350 UL?
@notafanboy2502 ай бұрын
I own a 2024 350 UL and also test drove a 2024 300h. Looking back at it for the type of driving I do, I would go for the 300h. Why? I mostly do in town driving with the Lexus even though I have a Bolt EV already that is ideal for in-town. The automatic transmission on the 350 between 1st and 3rd in both directions is kind of harsh relatively speaking if you're used to the smoothness of an EV. It's a well-known quirk of its transmission if you go on Lexus forums. The 8-speed is nice for highway driving in the sense that it's very quiet due to the gearing at those speeds. However, I only drive it on the highway maybe once a month. When I test drove the hybrid, at lower speeds it was pure bliss while on the electric motor just like driving my EV. Try both of them out and be honest with yourself as to what sort of driving you're going to be doing. I have no regrets but I think the 300h would have been the better fit for me. In general, I hate automatic transmissions. The 350's isn't a particularly smooth one and once you've tried electric, it's very noticeable.

How does it compare to a genesis lux interior?
@tonysterbenc2 ай бұрын
Genesis is considerably more luxurious, without a doubt. But note that if you care about real leather and real wood, you have to climb to the top of the trim ladder in Genesis too, and you can't get wood (only a carbon fiber look) in top trims at all because they're "Sport." So if you're a leather freak, expect to drop about $20k more for a G80 that has it.
