I'm 41. Everyone is always asking for my secret. I always say, less is more. Taking care of your skin is #1. Moisturize every day of your life. I'm a dirty blonde so I use clear on my eyebrows. Plus I live in the country where we don't feel obligated to wear a ton of makeup anywhere, I get creative sometimes. I love that natural glam though. 😊 Thank you for these tips. I'm definitely going to try the brown liner.

I agree with pretty much all of these except the eyeliner tip. I was the educator for Sephora and taught all of our in store classes to clients. And after almost 20 years modeling and having my makeup done then becoming a makeup artist myself - I learned that using a wall mounted mirror is often what messes people up and using a compact, holding it below your face and looking down almost always corrects most struggles my clients have with doing their liner. When your hand comes in your field of view you flinch or can’t see. If you look down into the mirror and work from above this eliminates the possibility of that happening

In addition to using dark brown liner at 51 I have been using a powder liner and angle brush for my liner including winged. It’s easy to control and much more forgiving than liquid liner but it gives me the look I want to achieve. I switched from liquid to powder in my 40’s and its my go to technique.

Same! Just discovered how incredibly better this is! After about an hour though I notice a dark hue under my eyes which means that essentially I guess the powder from my eyes has gradually "snowed" onto the underneath of my eye area somehow....? 😖 How do you stop this from happening?!

I often only need this and top with Chanel Les Beiges Eau de Tint to add a golden glow to my skin. I also love Supergoop! Shimmershade SPF 30 cream eyeshadows. The Sunset shade is gorgeous as an eyeliner and a darker shade in the crease of your eyes. The Daydream shade is perfect as a primer for my skin tone, and the product is a great primer underneath powder and cream eyeshadows.

I have just in the last couple of months started researching skin care and makeup on youtube and have become borderline obsessed! I am 42, in the last few years the age/sun spots have come out, the fine lines and wrinkles, and extremely dry skin then sometimes oily in spots have really come to stay. I have always loved makeup and how fun it can be to play with. As a Woman it can give that added boost to self esteem, or bounce to a gloomy day, or just make me feel pretty. The last 10 years becoming consumed with my Daughters, the house, the dog, the everything else but myself.......I lost touch with self care and what awesome products there are for skin care and makeup. To ever be able to find the time to do the research myself on what works and what doesn't is just a pipe dream. I think alot of us just give up and use whatever we have or what we can grab at the grocery store when getting groceries. When I find the time to order online I get so overwhelmed with all of the choices and I give up after sitting there for an hour trying to decide because I have no idea what to try and I don't want to waste money so I end up just closing the computer and walking away. Soooo, long story short to have these videos, but more specifically YOUR videos with less chatter and more to the point information on what it is, how it works, and the quick link to buy it....omg what a God send! Also I love that you time stamp every topic you go over........oh thank you so much!!! If it's a product I know I won't use I don't want to have to listen to it, or.....If I know the one product I want info on I want to find it fast and move on. No offense to any other chanel because I could never do what any of you do and I am forever impressed. I just SO APPRECIATE the QUICK, CLEAR, RELEVANT information about each product instead of what you ate yesterday for breakfast. Again no disrespect to others, there is certainly a great time and place for girl talk when you can do it. For myself at this point in my life, self care although very important.....it needs to be able to pack a powerful punch in a short amount of time. Last thing and I am obviously taking alot of time going on and on here but you sharing the pro make up tips and skin care tips, where to place my make up, what types to use and how to pick the correct type and the correct shade of brows......omg thankyou! You hold nothing back from us and that means alot to me! Not all women are like that and give away all secrets. I watched your chanel , (the video October fav's) for the first time this morning and I subscribed and will continue to follow. Its also the first time I have ever really taken to make a coment. Thank you again and I look forward to more videos.

Hello! Recent member of the 40 club here! One thing I love to do with my eye makeup is to line my eyes with a darker shade of eyeshadow and smudge to blend it into my eye look. Today I’m doing a bronze/green look and lined my upper eye with a shimmer hunter green and bottom with a deep bronze. It adds the depth that I like without being harsh and adding age. I love brown/bronze liquid liner and will only use black for dramatic night looks. Electric blue is also a love of mine with liquid liner. I also have made the switch to cream products about a year ago. Sticks are so convenient when traveling and when I’m back and forth to my fiancé’s apartment. They’re perfect for the gym, too. I have my routine so perfected that I can do my every day look in 30 minutes or less.. i spend more time on skincare.

What stick/cream products do you recommend? I've been wanting to try this & no clue what brands to experiment with
@conservativebarbiedoll5892 жыл бұрын
@@rscheetz08 I really love Wet and Wild’s dual contour/highlight stick. I tend to use less highlighter but that formula doesn’t dry out. I have been trying different blush sticks and Wet and Wild make a nice, affordable blush stick as well. I noticed that cream eyeshadows dry out faster if they’re in a pot and some have more glitter than I’d like for my age (elf and Maybelline have glittery cream shadows) but Rimmel has some pretty matte cream shadows and Ofra has gorgeous metallic cream eyeshadows. Wet and Wild has some crayon shadows that are easy to apply with more playful colors. I like to play a little with different shades/textures of eyeshadow and they are versatile enough that I can wear a sweep of one color or blend a couple colors for a dramatic look. Flower beauty has a nice kajal liquid liner that can be blended along the lash line for a softer look. I haven’t tried many “prestige” cream cosmetics yet since I have been having a lot of fun with what I’m using now, but I’m going to treat myself really soon to a trip to Sephora 😁

I kind learned the tip with the blush a while ago and it does make a huge difference, you face looks lifted. it makes a huge difference to how your face looks like. Also, for mature woman meaning 35+ for me it is best to go with a cream blush, always, it is more forgiving and it looks like skin. I do the trick with the concealer too, apply just like you did, just to cover the dark circles and if I need a bit more coverage, I put another layer but always using a dot, as the one I am using is full coverage. Also, I am glad you say that about the concealer, using the shade closer to your skin tone, whenever I try to buy a new one they always kind try to suggest to me that it should be brighter, two shades lighter but it shouldn't as it stands out, I do sometimes go with one shade lighter that my skin tone. I have recently realised the tip with the brows, I used to always buy a dark brown gel for my eyebrows until I realised I need to use blonde maybe for a brunnete like me, rather than choosing a brunette shade eyebrow mascara, sometimes go in the other corner with the darker shade and lighter in the inner corner. Lip pencils, I don't know about this, I have seen JLo's lips, oh boy does she go overboard when she overdraws them and it not near to her actual shape it is way higher, it is a tip to make them look fuller but in her case it show a lot, maybe a bit more natural overdrawing them would look better, but she is using a lip liner that is very close to her lip colour and it is very discret. Foundation, I only use it when I need to cover some acne marks, I am having photos taken or go to an event, I try to take care of my skin a lot, good skin will always be the key to look better with less make up than applying heavy foundation that covers everything and when you take it off, that is not really you. I do like to use tinted moisturizer but sometimes I will use foundation just a few dots on the areas like my chin, my nose, a soft touch that makes the difference just the concealer for those areas. I have heard many make up artist saying you should go for a brown pencil for the eye, even a brown mascara would be good for brunettes, that is what I will be buying next.
