The BEST Method to Scouting Wonderkids in FM24!

Some really good tips here dude I'll defo be using some of these. I just wanted to share one of my tips that might help people When i hire a new scout I nickname them with their CA/PA and what area they have best knowledge of or where I'm sending them to I'E it'll be something like Dave Davidson 18,20 Samerica so that can be easier to keep track of rather than using a word document to see when your sending people to.

Best method second season onwards: around october-november, after the international windows in summer and September, set a player search with youth caps between 1 and 3 and born on or after 1/1/2009. Every year advance one year. 90% of players that pop up are exceptional wonderkids.

I dont understand, i do this and like 1000 young players show up from shitty countries and they all have terrible attributes, what am i putting in wrong?

@@ehhhhhha26 the year, you must use the year that makes only youngest players pop up. Also the date you check is important (this set up only works end of august-start of September, after youth caps) and whether there's been a recent youth international tournament. If that's the case, adjust up your youth caps filter. Also even the shittiest of attributes at this age (15-16) can become a 180 PA monster in the future. A final tip: look first to those with unusual high values for their country. If for instance Serbian youngsters have an average high value of 100k, go check that lad with 800k high end value.

I just won the Championship with Coventry in my first ever season - but also recognise when I hit the PL my squad is just frail af. So I NEED some wonderkids - I've just won the season so if I start scouting NOW is there enough data considering it's end of season to get any decent reports?

Hey Kempi, do you get hugely better results from scouting for any position in any formation? Is it better to scout by nation than by region? It has changed over the years. Also is there a flaw in the game that produces much better results scouting for players by age 15-15 than by 15-21? Sometimes FM has had crazy flaws like this that seriously impact the scouting results.

Hey! If you scout with smaller perimeters you will get better results, but obviously need more scouts to do this!

@@KempiXI Hey, so you recommend scouting by nation rather than region. Also scouting smaller age groups? I watched one video that suggested scouting 15-15 or 16-16 age brackets. On a forum someone recommended scouting by no more than two countries per recruitment focus.

So as u keep getting more scouts do you just add them to the recruitment focuses already setup ? Like if you have 2 scouts in South America you add another one now u have 3 etc? Or do you assign them and narrow it down to a specific area orrr 🤔🤔 that’ll be interesting information as it scouting team grows ,

@KempiXI @KempiXI well, lets agree to disagree :D I havent scouted by continent on this version, but in every previous version scouting by country always had better results as the scouts would not spend so much time traveling between countries. I do admit that I was harsh saying is 'really bad advice'. It isnt, is just that there are more efficient ways of applying your core methodology (which for me is replacing Continents with specific countries). That being said, I always found the recruitment focus tool to be underwhelming compared to some other methods. While it takes more manual work both when scouting and filtering, I would argue that the best method to scout wonderkids is scouting youth national teams for specific countries.
